High School Principal Excludes White Students from ‘Black Lives Matter’ Event

Ashley Rae Goldenberg, Daily Caller, March 7, 2015

An Illinois high school principal is defending his decision to exclude white students from a “Black Lives Matter” event held at his school.

On February 27th, Oak Park and River Forest High School principal, Nathaniel Rouse, hosted a “Black Lives Matter” event exclusively for black students. The assembly was intended to culminate Black History Month with a discussion on race relations. Approximately 350 black individuals attended the event. When white students attempted to attend the assembly, however, they were denied entry.

Parents who were upset over the school’s decision to exclude non-black students from the event voiced their opinion to the Chicago Tribune. Rouse responded to the concerns of the parents by stating, “First and foremost, this is not meant to give a connotation that we were trying to be exclusive.”

In a statement on the Oak Park and River Forest High School website, the school addressed the controversy: “[S]ome students and parents expressed confusion and concern about the event being for Black students only. Information about the event lacked clarity about this aspect of the conversation, and the high school is committed to improving communications in the future. Further conversations among and across other racial affinity groups shall take place at the high school in the coming months and into next year.”

Rouse defended his decision to keep non-black students from the assembly by referring to the concept of “affinity groups.” According to the school’s statement, “Racial affinity groups are often used in learning communities to help facilitate positive identity exploration and provide people with similar experiences a space in which to pose questions and process topics.”

    Good.

    • D.B. Cooper

White people who tried to attend that meeting are among the most brainwashed. They are also the white leftists who think these women are the enemy.

      • Cecil Broomsted

Both are miscegenators. There is that.

Anyone proven that Palin actually boned a negro basketball player?

          • Both are unsubstantiated rumors.

          • Diversity Fatigue

            Rumors? You must be kidding.

          • 1stworlder

It was actually the Saturday Night Liver copy that saw Russia from her House

          • Tina Fey. Yet, there are some kook left morons who think that Palin actually said that herself.

          • Cecil Broomsted

In Palin’s case, Glen Rice confirmed it for the author of Palin’s biography, and though Palin denied other parts of his book, she never denied the Rice affair. There is no dispute that Coulter dated Indian Dinesh D’Souza.

          • Dwight

The author was Joe McGinniss. The book was The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin

Knowing he could be sued for millions, I doubt he would have written anything that couldn’t be backed up in a court of law. I believe it absolutely. Re Coulter, I like her politics but she has no particular loyalty to the white race in my opinion. Another miscegenist.

          • John Smith

Coulter, or Laura Ingram? I thought Coulter supposedly did JJ Walker?

          • Americaandthewestshouldbewhite

Both are ugly. I hae seen some Indian men who have mixed European heritage that are way better looking than Dinesh. Negroes are always ugly no matter if they are mixed or full blooded.

            Don’t be so vulgar.

    • Cecil Broomsted

A good idea. Keep the white students from making fools of themselves.

  • Why would any white student want to go to this farce? Human geldings.

    • D.B. Cooper

The white boys who are totally “down against the white establishment” tend to look like this guy. Remember him?

      • “Remember” him? I wish I could forget him and all of his ilk.

        No, who is he?

  • Truthseeker

If there were ever a Whites-only assembly, its purpose would be to shame them for their “privilege.” I’m guessing the purpose of this “Blacks Lives Matter” assembly was to tell Blacks how wonderful they are and how much society victimizes them.

  • Steve_in_Vermont

Try holding a “White lives matter” assembly and excluding blacks. Once again blacks leaders have shot themselves in the proverbial foot. What message do white people take away about the seriousness of blacks desire for “inclusion”?. These folks could screw up a free lunch.

    • Spikeygrrl

You must have missed the memo: they already have screwed up a free lunch. (For more detail, please refer to the FLOTUS’s “healthy eating” school menus.)

  • James Hamilton

When is the all white assembly?

    • connorhus

They tried having one in Oklahoma recently. See how that worked out for them. Black exclusive is all fine and good but to have anything White exclusive is a crime in the education world.

    • Cecil Broomsted

Blacks consider Asians to be white so that would be the Science club

      • dukem1

        Ha Ha!!!
You used “Blacks” and “Science Club” in the same sentence!

      • James Hamilton

Aah, so clever = white. I suppose it’s the same as the way they say that any black guy who thries to improve himself is “acting white”. They certainly have an interesting way of looking at the world.

  • What an hilarious response by Rouse. Muh Negro is talkin dat Negro-babble to escape the consequences of his anti-whiteness. My effort to put his pic in failed but he looks like Louis Gossett, the actor. That is, he looks like he’s full of himself because he has an “edumacation.”

    • Jaggers

Yes, an attempt by blacks to sound intelligent is always amusing. “This is not meant to give a connotation that we were trying to be exclusive.” That sentence is so jarring, I immediately suspected the perpetrator to be a black man trying to use big words.

      • JackKrak

Yep. It’s hilarious when they break out the four-syllable words they heard somewhere and think they know the meaning of in an attempt to sound smart. Or what they think is smart, anyway.

Also note how no one outside comment boards like this one would ever call him out on it but any bumbling white guy dumb enough to say something like that into a camera would be a star on every late night talk show within 24 hours.

“Yes, um, we think it is fortuitous, in the near time horizon to, uh, recombine the variable comprehensiveness nature of the situation so that, uh, we can make a correct reevaluation of the appropriate actions that should, um, take place.”

    • Samuel Hathaway

Proper speech, diction and grammar. It’s a white thing. Black “ejoomakaters” wouldn’t understand.

      • FransSusan

Yes, and it’s racist to notice that blacks can’t speak correctly.

  • A Freespeechzone

Maybe some of these White kids will learn by this exclusion exactly how blacks view Whites.

    As the enemy.

Trouble is, some Whites won’t learn.

    • 1stworlder

Being around blacks is the only want to learn you will never meet any in real life as smart as seen on fictional TV

      • Weisheit77

Ain’t that the gospel truth! Working at a university I’ve met a couple who didn’t have the chip on their shoulder, were able to complete assignments, and hold conversations, and pursue graduate degrees , but that is 2 people versus the 20,000 blacks I’ve met in my life.

(I grew up in South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Delaware. Delaware had forced bussing. I didn’t get away from blacks until I got to college, and I still encounter them in any city I go to around here. I have met a lot of black people in my life time. Hell, last year, I even stood next to Al Sharpton in Chicago O’Hare airport.)

        • FransSusan

Eeeuuuwww. I would make a huge effort not to be any where near that race ho.

    • Dwight

A trip to the emergency room usually works.

The WIC office is sort of fun, too.

    • MBlanc46

      Some won’t, but many will.

  • WR_the_realist

There is one affinity group that is never allowed its own exclusive meetings and organizations — white people.

    • HJ11

And, we will never be “allowed” such. We have to take it. The petty tyrants who are keeping their boots on our necks will have no power once we reach a tipping point of White opinion about the genocide that is being done against us in both big and small ways.

  • John Smith

Were I a racially-aware principal, I would do the same thing – but for different reasons.

  • David Ashton

Time for “whites” to form a world-wide “affinity group” to revive “positive identity”.

    • MBlanc46

      Where do I sign up?

      • David Ashton

Personally I am UNFORTUNATELY too old to start something like this – I was a founder of a Majority Rights organization in London – and can only now offer ideas and information. But there must be sensible younger men and women in Europe, North America and White Australasia who could do this, with an intellectual lead from AmRen, a good game without the “Aryan Nations” name.

        • MBlanc46

I’m in the over sixties as well and have no talents as an organizer. But I am still a warm body and am willing to show up and make my views known. Here’s hoping that some of those younger folks take some of your ideas and information and run with them.

          • David Ashton

Thank you. A website “university” course is a parallel idea.

    • FransSusan

That would never be allowed by the PC ‘police.’ Whites aren’t allowed an opinion in public discourse. I believe that the best things for whites to do is stop over-reacting to the taunts of racism, and just own it. Yes, I’m a racist; so what! We would be better off ignoring most of the nonsense that negroes do, such as this black lives matter junk, and stay as far away from them as is possible in this PC controlled world. Another thing that would help whites is to find a way to slowly begin to re-incorporate the merit system into everything. Sadly, though, I don’t know how that could be accomplished. Affirmative action governs everything. It’s a major reason why education is so horrible.

      • David Ashton

Curiously, I have noticed lately in PC controlled England even individuals on the “left” beginning to complain about the lack of free speech, the spurious issue of “offense” and the specific marginalization of Dead White Males in the education system.

Defending the heritage is being done by writers, especially in the USA, and these need greater publicity. Further re-incorporation of great white achievers from the past into schools, the screen media and public awareness is also possible, however slow. Learn from our opponents about front-organizations, issue protests, agenda-networking, &c, Use the internet to create a “social media” to form a positive identity for people, and nations, of western Caucasian descent – AmRen could be a good start.

  • HJ11

Great news! Segregation is the answer. Let Blacks self-segregate and call it affinity groups.

Whites (except the neurotic self hating ones) don’t generally want to elbow into non-White groups. Mentally healthy Whites prefer all White clubs, areas, etc.

  • Bon, From the Land of Babble

I can’t think of why a White student would want to attend racist black-only event.

The principal – on public property no less – violated the Civil Rights rights of White students and should be fired immediately.

Hopefully, this will awaken White students and help counter some of the perpetual anti-White/ White guilt/ pro-black brainwashing all White students in public schools are subjected to.

#black lives matter only when they are shot and killed by Whites.

    • InAFreeCountry

Maybe to get a peek at the inside to see what the real message is, or because it’s forbidden?

  • IstvanIN

They should have an assembly for the White kids called European and European-Diaspora accomplishments.

  • Don’t they know we live in a post-racial America? Aren’t they aware that this is a color-blind society? Don’t they know that whites are here to serve, adore, and worship the almighty negro?

  • Vito Powers

Hey, it’s “separate, but equal”. This could just catch on!

  • Diana Moon Glampers

The worst part about this story is the obvious next step, which will be an assembly for white students all about white privilege. White parents should pull their students immediately.

  • MBlanc46

    Segregation. What’s not to like?

    • JohnEngelman

Over the years I have come reluctantly to suspect that in states with large black populations Jim Crow legislation was based on sound instinct.

Because I supported the civil rights movement as a child, a teenager, and a young adult, I do not like thinking this way. Nevertheless, facts are facts.

      • Deacon Blue

Hard to argue with empirical evidence, Engleman.

        • JohnEngelman

My detractors have learned that, to their dismay.

      • InAFreeCountry

Thinking this way, or feeling this way? Or just a cognitive dissonance?
I believed in the paint-job theory for a long time, was raised on it, but once you see though it, you can’t unsee it.

      • MBlanc46

I’ve come to pretty much the same conclusion by pretty much the same path.

        • JohnEngelman

I am disappointed with the black response to the civil rights legislation. Nevertheless, I am not in favor of repealing it.

When I lived in California I sometimes had a black friend to my apartment. Before the Open Housing Bill of 1968 was signed, that might have been a violation of the rental agreement.

Most of the regulars in my favorite tavern in the high black, high crime city I live in are black. I like them. They like me. Before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed, they or I might not have been served there.

          • MBlanc46

Too late to repeal it. But we must start interpreting it quite strictly. No more disparate impact. No more quotas. No more DoJ witchhunts.

          • JohnEngelman

No more affirmative action. No more forced school busing.

    • USofAntiWhite

When lefties toss out Jim Crow I take utter delight in telling them, “You don’t understand Jim Crow. It had nothing to do with oppressing Black people. It was all about protecting White people.” That always pisses them off!

    • Weisheit77

When I walk through all white places like upstate New York, Maine, Wyoming, small town Holland, small town Germany, Iceland, etc. I feel such a sense of relief. It always tears me up inside to leave those places. Hell, last year I went to Portland for the first time and compared to my closest cities of Baltimore and Philadelphia it seemed pretty nice. Still a far cry from other places I’ve been though. Too many white junkies are there.

      • MBlanc46

There’s still a lot of the old America left in the small town Midwest. It’s surprising where hood rats are starting to show up, though.

  • dukem1

I’ve always had a bit of an interest in semantics/linguistics…An intellectual indulgence, certainly.
From that POV, your comment is only the tiny tip of a huge iceberg…
    Well done, my friend.

    • Samuel Hathaway

I once heard a young ghetto-black woman use the following phrase, “Dun nobody luh me ‘no ‘mo.”

I remarked to her, “I think you meant to say, ‘Nobody loves me anymore’

      • Weisheit77

Actually, my ex-field / current hobby is English language acquisition, German, and Germanic languages.
While you are technically correct about the two negatives, Shakespeare used them and I suspect Chaucer did, too.

It’s a rule that came about in the 17th century where they tried to model the English language on Latin. It’s the same place where we got the rule about not ending with a preposition, which is totally ok in any other Germanic language and was ok in English until someone said you can’t end a Latin sentence in a preposition, therefor one should not be able to do it with an English sentence. So, for me, these rules are kind of “grey”. Breaking them might make one sound uneducated, but the meaning isn’t lost, and if used in tandem with academic words, it can make one sound like a folksy intellectual.

Now what this man does with connotation is totally wrong. It’s been wrong and will always be wrong. It’s funny, though.

  • Douglas Quaid

A couple of weeks ago I saw the beginning of a “sermon” from a local black pastor to his all black church. It was all about being black. The “sermon” had nothing to do with Bible, just him rambling about black issues and how they are so oppressed and having a black president didn’t change that. My primary thoughts in response to this was, “I need to get as far away from these people as possible.”

    • USofAntiWhite

If only… if only they wanted away from us too. It is a mental defect to hate people but refuse to stay away from them, especially when they have dozens of Black countries to go to. Black people, can’t live with them and can’t get away from them.

    • Samuel Hathaway

Watch Dr. David Jeremiah, instead…”black preachers”, to me anyway, is code for racial riff-raff, ghetto-style oratory, politicking for the Democratic party from the pulpit, hopping up and down like hyperactive nitwits and getting the congregation to raise their hands, jumping up and down yelling…. “Lawby Jebus” “Lawby Jebus” without a clue as to the meaning of anything.

      • Weisheit77

I’m not religious (listen to a lot of evil music), but my father is a church elder in the reformed Presbyterian church, and if I understand him correctly, affluent white churches have to watch out what they say politically or risk losing their tax status. Black churches are never held to these standards.
It’s not a big of a deal in his current church because they tend not to be very “worldy” in a political way, but he used to be Southern Baptist, and they can be very political.

But yeah, a black preacher running a church is a tax exempt operative for the far-left wing of the Democratic party.

  • LHathaway

“Parents who were upset over the school’s decision to exclude non-black students from the event voiced their opinion to the Chicago Tribune”.

This is exactly the reaction they want! They get to discriminate, exaggerate/distort the reaction, and use this to claim that whites are the intolerance ones. With every story they print, they just get more of what they want from us.

It’s time to stop reacting (the beast is well-fed as it is). It’s time to start acting. Let them react to us. We have our own interests, as Whites. It serves us not, exclaiming this or that to be wrong, what would serve us is having a meeting of our own. Oh how they would wonder what We are talking about? Going on about the bad behavior (or not) of blacks only gives them more power (if that is somehow possible).

  • USofAntiWhite

Someone at that school needs to take this opportunity to flip this. Start an affinity group not even going as far as talking about race relations or excluding anyone but have a seminar on the achievements and accomplishments of Western Civilization. Focus on science and technology and how the research and development of Western Civilization over dozens of centuries has led to the modern age. Base everything on facts. Keep it totally positive. Lastly, there will be no mention, not a brain wave directed at any non-White individuals, culture, point of view or events. Just think how these White kids would gravitate and thrive in such an honest environment?

  • USofAntiWhite

80 IQ, $100,000 government job getting to hate on White children. I don’t know who is more mentally ill, Black people for their proto-human ways or White people subjecting their offspring to these typical Black “educator” types.

  • Ella

Here, we had physics, chess, debate and other after-hour academic based clubs for all students. Where can white teens sign up for healthy self-esteem and positive identity development?

  • Samuel Hathaway

First and foremost, this is not meant to give a connotation that we were trying to be exclusive.”

Translation: First of all, this was not meant to convey the idea that we were being exclusive.

  • I am delighted that I would be unwelcome at a “Black Lives Matter” event, precisely because I do not believe a word of it.

    • Deacon Blue

Michael – I agree with you 100%. I would hope my children would see this {in school} as a colossal waste of their time and decline – politely of course – and spend the time in the study hall counting the number of floor or ceiling tiles in the room. Activities far more useful than attending a “Black Lives Matter” event.
BTW…you and I have somewhat similar backgrounds from a marital perspective.
And it seems we have similar opinions regarding race realism.

    • Weisheit77

Dating myself a little bit here. I was in high school when the movie Malcolm X came out. I was going to a school with bussing. Luckily, we could get our parents to sign a release for their children not to go. It was such a poorly ran school (bussing), though, that I just cut school that day.

  • Whites are not needed at a “Black Lives Matter” event. That is a good idea, because around 92% (?) of Black killers are Black.

The Whites can, in the same time slot, have a meeting “White Lives Matter” where Blacks can be excluded. This, of course, would be a world wide scandal What Blacks can do, whites could never dare to do.

Of course, they more productively would have an afternoon of chess. That would be more productive.

  • InAFreeCountry

    1. How do you have a “discussion” on race relations when one side is not even represented?
    2. By not allowing whites, you are disenfranchising them and violating equal protection, especially in a school setting.
    3. Affinity groups? Let’s have a white affinity group (White Lives Matter?) on school grounds and see how far that goes. Not an anti-anything group, just an affinity group to “facilitate positive identity exploration and provide people with similar
experiences a space in which to pose questions and process topics.”
    4. DIVERSITY? No? For me but not for thee?

    • Weisheit77

I know they forgot to change the name but welcome to New America. In old America these would have all been valid points, but in New America they’re all perfect logical and even socially righteous.

    • FransSusan

No one wants a real discussion on race relations. Blacks demand discussions on race relations, but what they actually want is lots of opportunities for whining sessions, finding new ways to blame whites and new ways to exploit white taxpayers by developing more parasite programs. It wouldn’t matter if whites were present or not. Black whine is all that’s important.

  • MathMan

If black lives matter, then why are blacks killing their fellow blacks in their hundreds worldwide every day?

    • Speedy Steve

I don’t know, but I’m not about to hold an awareness campaign trying to stop it.

    • FransSusan

MathMan, we can’t expect their actions to be logical or make sense. This black lives matter junk is designed to keep whites in-line—keep the dumb ones (liberals) believing that they’re responsible for all black dysfunction. It has no real meaning otherwise.

  • Light from the East

Good, then no more white students in the school will be brainwashed to believe this nonsense. And the high school principal should secretly tell white students to participate the “BLACK LIES MATTER” event.

    • bv

      He’s doing them a favor.

  • The principal is doing that out of concern for the white students’ safety. Remember the guy that was beaten up in one of these “I am Trayvon” events? /sarcasm off

  • Speedy Steve

River Forest High School principal, Nathaniel Rouse

  • Speedy Steve

Puh-leeze! Give the 75 IQ bureaucrat a break. He had to bite his tongue to avoid saying “First and foremost, this is not meant to give a connotation that we were trying to be exclusive inch hit gnome sane.”

  • Speedy Steve

Oak Park is a 60% White enclave sandwiched between Africanized Maywood and West Side Chimpcongo.

  • Weisheit77

Rouse responded to the concerns of the parents by stating, “First and

    ————————————————————————————————————-

One of my favorite things is blacks using being words. We aren’t trying to give connotations of being exclusive. We’re just doing it.

And that bit of edubabble at the end. It just reminded me that I’m glad I’m out of education. Educational theory is most painful and pointless thing you can read.

  • Weisheit77

C’mon, man, you tell a few more like that I ain’t gonna have any skin left on my knees.

Cheers, that was a good one.

    53% white. 25% black. 11% Hispanic.
I wish your nieces all the best, but anyplace with demographics like that + black leadership is guaranteed to be detrimental to white people. Especially impressionable white children. I am not judging your sibling’s choices, and I know school options are limited and this school has above average test scores. Personally, if I am in ANY environment with demographics like those, I am headed quickly out of there.

    • Weisheit77

I’m with you. That’s the perfect ratio for every Mexican and negro to have a white girlfriend and for all the white guys to ape the minorities. I went to a high school with demographics not too different from those.

It doesn’t take much more than 10% black to ruin everything.

  • MekongDelta69

Let me know when he gets expelled like those two guys from O.U.

    I’ll wait

  • gooberboy9999

I’m sure the one or two crazy white students looking forward to attending were devastated.

  • FransSusan

I think it’s a good thing that white students weren’t FORCED to attend this sham. I’d have been happy that my child wasn’t exposed to that kind of nonsensical crap. They’re fed enough of it in affirmative action and liberal teachers’ classes.
