Facebook Moves to Curb Spread of Terror, Hate Speech

Rob Lever, Yahoo! News, March 16, 2015

Facebook said Monday it won’t allow the social network to be used to promote terrorism or hate speech as it unveiled a wide-ranging update of its “community standards.”

The new guidelines give more clarity on acceptable posts relating to violence, hate speech, nudity and other contentious topics.

The new document said Facebook will not allow a presence from groups advocating “terrorist activity, organized criminal activity or promoting hate.”

{snip}

The new guidelines say Facebook will take down “graphic images when they are shared for sadistic pleasure or to celebrate or glorify violence.”

On terrorist or criminal organizations, Facebook also said it would not tolerate “supporting or praising leaders of those same organizations, or condoning their violent activities.”

Facebook said meanwhile that nudity would be banned in many cases but allowed for images of breastfeeding, art or discussions of medical conditions.

“These standards are designed to create an environment where people feel motivated and empowered to treat each other with empathy and respect,” said a blog post from Facebook global policy chief Monika Bickert and deputy general counsel Chris Sonderby.

{snip}

“It’s a challenge to maintain one set of standards that meets the needs of a diverse global community,” the blog post said.

“This is particularly challenging for issues such as hate speech. Hate speech has always been banned on Facebook, and in our new community standards, we explain our efforts to keep our community free from this kind of abusive language.”

Diversity is always an excuse to conceal, bully, censor, punish, and suppress free expression. Another article below this one features information about a video posted on facebook about a white girl beaten by blacks. These videos should be protected to be posted on Facebook so we know how evil and demonic these “diverse” black children are. Of course diversity doesnt want the story told about black on white crime, so in the name of suppressing “hate speech” wants such videos banned.

  • John Smith

IOW, they’re going to start censoring those posts by conservative users.

    • Sick of it

And pass on information from their computers/cellphones to the NSA.

  • anony

” “This is particularly challenging for issues such as hate speech. Hate speech has always been banned on Facebook, and in our new community standards, we explain our efforts to keep our community free from this kind of abusive language.” ”

So, I guess Facebook will require that all the absurd “hip hop” and “gangsta rap” songs depicting the killing of cops and Whites will be deleted from and disallowed. Not.

  • David Ashton

“Hate” speech is in the ear of the “offended”.

    • TruthBeTold

Unfortunately that will be the subjective criteria.

The eternal victims will be setting the rules.

  • OTOH, at least with Facebook, you have 58 gender options.

Funny, I always thought two covered them all.

  • Get rid of the porn and the Muzzie terrorists and you’ve got something. But I have a feeling that stories and videos of encounters with blacks and mystery meat muds will get you banned from Zuck’s site. Those who favor segregation, gun ownership, and are anti-immigrant are the ones that Zuck is targeting. There’s no reason to think otherwise. He’s married to an ugly gook, which says all you need to know.

    • JohnEngelman

I think Mrs. Zuckerberg looks pretty myself.

      • Your reputation precedes you and exceeds you. You advertise your yellow fever, which is your right, but be aware that white men with yellow fever drive white women away from this movement.

Blogger Viking Bitch often writes about why she rejected White Nationalism and race realism in favor of National Socialism. NS men do not chase Mexican or Asian tail. I think she has a point. It’s insulting to white women to say you favor the white race and then go chase Mexican or Asian poon.

        • JohnEngelman

I am a race realist. I have never claimed to be a white nationalist. During my life I have known many people of other races I have liked, several non white women I have been in love with, and a number of whites I have not liked.

          • johningermany

I feel like you do but I reserve the right to totally reject Negroes.

          • JohnEngelman

I celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at a tavern where nearly everyone was black. They liked me. I liked them. I do not want to return to a situate where that would have been illegal.

          • notyranny

Nature says stay within your own Race or suffer the consequences.

          • JohnEngelman

The only thing I suffered from falling in love with a Chinese woman was a broken heart.

          • notyranny

            They can be SMOKIN HOT!

        • HE2

Truth to tell, I do not appreciate the Stormfront vitriol of VB. It crosses the line, in my view.
But….share your concern about the Yellow Fever epidemic among our otherwise worthy fellow Amreners.
No cure, but there are symptom relief measures, and be warned:
the disease carries a potential fifty percent mortality rate.
          Consider the immunization. It works.

        • Hammerheart

Latin and Asian women are regarded as more feminine than the western white woman. This is partly because cultural Marxist brainwashing makes white women largely unsuitable for long term companionship.

Remove the filth of Marxist tyranny and you can see why every woman wants to look as white as possible. African weave and horse hair wig production is almost a billion dollar industry.

          • ElComadreja

Regarded as more feminine by who?

          • Max

            – besides Engelman, the rest of the leftist media who indeed try to homosexualize or at least masculinize white women while minimizing the desirability of white births. They then try to palm off the “exotic” foreign and domestic multicolor sludge as more “woman” to the hypnotized masses.

          • JohnEngelman

            Me.

      • Sick of it

You could probably find millions of women in her home country that look far better than her. Talk about no standards.

        • Samuel Hathaway

Here’s a good example of high standards if you have to marry outside your country… meet Monika Sanchez who stars on many telenovelas on Univision, who prefers white men and shuns negros.

      • Katherine McChesney

Yuck. You need to see your eye doctor.

        • Samuel Hathaway

Louise Mandrell, see a few posts above, is a hottie… am I allowed to say that or is that a sexist crime?

      • IstvanIN

Neither the missus nor the mister Z is what one would call physically attractive.

        • MBlanc46

A billion bucks can be pretty darned attractive.

          • Money is the only genuinely effective aphrodisiac.

          • MBlanc46

Unless it’s power, as Kissinger thought.

          • Sick of it

Probably power. Men in power have had a serious effect on women for thousands of years.

        • notyranny

Zuckface is a beneficiary of timing 70 years ago he’d have been stuck in a lab somewhere.

      • MBlanc46

I generally find East Asian women (especially Japanese, MCS) attractive, but I’m pretty sure that if I were a billionaire, I’d do better than Zuckerberg.

      • Samuel Hathaway

        Louise Mandrell is prettier.

      • WhiteVeinKratom

        No surprise.

    • WR_the_realist

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and if you think Ms. Zuckerbeg is ugly that’s your business. (I wouldn’t rate her as ugly, but not as terribly attractive either.) But was the “gook” word necessary? The people ruining our schools and making our cities unlivable are not the Chinese. And the people advocating the concept of “white privilege” aren’t Chinese, they’re white. If diversity simply meant having some East Asians in a majority white society I wouldn’t have a problem with it. I suspect Jared Taylor wouldn’t either.

      • notyranny

I think Whites and Asians should join forces to solve the mud race problem. Hopefully, After that we could get along,

      • Max

He will when they are running this country like they are their own country right now.

      • Sick of it

I wouldn’t want a Southeast Asian ghetto any more than I would want a black one.

      • HE2

JT’s stance may a bit biased, if what dd said is true, that he is married to an Asian. Oh, how I hope it is not true.
How can one be an authentic race realist and enter into an interracial marriage with one whose culture is so alien to ours, and worse, produce confused bi-racial children? We have one of those in the White House.
I realize this post stands a good chance of deletion. Unfair if so, we should be allowed to discuss the parameters of race realism.

  • Alexandra1973

I ditched Facebook more than 3 years ago and I don’t miss it. I have a Twitter account, but that’s more for keeping up with weather and the like.

    • notyranny

I’ve never had a Facebook account or Twitter….come on in boys the waters fine.

    • TruthBeTold

I never got a FB account because I saw it instantly for what it is; data mining.

Did you know they can build a highly accurate personality profile of any FB user just by keeping track of the LIKE votes?

    • The Dude

I personally like Facebook. I follow many funny or fun pages that keep updated with the current cultural trends and memes, as well as viral videos of Russian youngsters doing stupid ****. I have made friends from many other parts of the world, from Europe to the Middle East to Southeast Asia—that’s the type of diversity I don’t mind having, by the way. Kind of like visiting other countries.

I also like to vent by expressing thoughts about stuff going on. Getting “likes” also feels good.

  • Marilyn

So this may sound bad but what is their definition of “hate speech?” I’m being sarcastic because it seems like you have to walk on eggshells about everything you say. Someone will be offended by something..can’t please everyone

    • TruthBeTold

The perpetually offended are in charge of setting the subjective standards.

The ADL and the Southern ‘Anything But’ Poverty Law Center will be monitoring for compliance.

      • Some of those doofs are actually unhappy whenever they are *NOT* busy pretending to be “offended”. Political Correctness has taken on the trappings of a religion, in which the basic assumptions are not subject to debate; they are therefore dogma. Dissidents are thus relegated to the socially-dead status once reserved for witches and heretics.

I could write a completely neutral piece about the post-WW2 Soviet naval shipbuilding program and someone would crawl out of the woodwork, accuse me of “warmongering” and have a little snit-fit about being “offended”. If I wrote about home vegetable-gardening, someone else would whine about “introduced species”. Making fishing tackle, home-brewing hard cider or performing auto repairs? Oh, no; those are “red-necky”. Investment advice? “Capitalist exploiter” who needs to pay “his fair share”, which is apparently everything I possess.

They don’t care about reality anymore; inconvenient truths have been termed “hate facts” by some of these puerile jack-wagons in their War On Noticing.

  • TruthBeTold

    Black Pride: Acceptable.
    Hispanic Pride: Acceptable.
    Gay Pride: Acceptable.
White Pride: Banned for hate speech.

We all know the game and who will be targeted and who won’t and for what reasons.

If people are going to insist on using a Facebook format we need an alternative to Facebook.

    • Robert Smith

      I’ve got the name…Racebook

    • HE2

Allow me to edit a bit:
      Black Pride: Acceptable. Promoted
      Hispanic Pride: Acceptable. Promoted
      Gay Pride: Acceptable. Promoted
White Pride: Banned for hate speech.

      • dd121

Let’s say what we want now, since Obama seized the internet I think the days of AmRen and the like are numbered.

        • HE2

dd, is govt seizure of the Net fait accompli, or is Soetero just banging on about it?

          • dd121

I don’t think anybody knows what it will entail right now, kind of like ACA, but it’s real. “Net neutrality” will ultimately be anything but neutral. If past performance is an indication the left will tell us what can be spoken and not spoken on the internet. I doubt if they’d like AmRen.

    • ElComadreja

What exactly is it that homosexuals are proud of?

      • Sick of it

        Spreading AIDS worldwide?

  • notyranny

    Zuckhead says “You WILL Conform”

    • He’s also running a publicly-traded company. Corporations have long insisted on policies regarding the use of their equipment. This isn’t any different than a boss at work telling someone “No, you can not surf jihadi websites on the office computers”.

  • JohnEngelman

The only reason I lack enthusiasm for restrictions on what is termed “hate speech” is that they can be used against race realism. American Renaissance is blocked from many publicly used personal computers.

    • Samuel Hathaway

This is true. I once tried to access AR on my work computer and the websense filtering blared back a dire warning that AR is banned for being a racist, hate site.

      • Light from the East

I can give you a advise: connect to a VPN to change your IP so you may have a chance to access it if the ban of AR’s IP is not set in your company’s router. (p.s. Your company’s IT guy knows what kind of website you linked to because you use their computer and network)

        • JohnEngelman

It is safest to restrict access to American Renaissance to your own PC, using an internet access you pay for.

          • Light from the East

It’s indeed safer than using public network since you know very clear about connection of your device and your ISP. In general, ADSL and VDSL are safer than coaxial cable. 3G and 4G are safer than WiFi. Public WiFi AP without password is extremely dangerous for anyone because it can be easily hacked.

      • JohnEngelman

You need always to be careful about using a work computer to cruise the internet for personal reasons. Your boss or HR may have been told about your efforts to access American Renaissance.

        • ElComadreja

HR departments are staffed by human excrement.

    • Weisheit77

      That’s the only reason?

      • JohnEngelman

        Yes.

I value open debate on important and controversial issues. Shouting racial epithets and telling racist jokes does not contribute to the conversation on race the United States and the West needs to have.

    • Alexandra1973

Once I couldn’t access AR through a library computer in Orrville, Ohio. I immediately fired off an e-mail complaining about it. To my surprise, last time I checked…that changed.

Of course that was when I was moving across the county and didn’t have Internet for a while.

    • RaySist27

I couldn’t get on Amren at a Denny’s once. That’s what I get for going there.

  • Wing-nut.

Do the gentle youths get to continue making “kill-whitey” posts?

    • I hope they are allowed to continue doing that, as it makes prosecuting the idiots far easier.

    • RaySist27

Yes, they do. Racism/hate directed toward evil YT is perfectly acceptable.

  • Marilyn

    Ppppfffttttt whatever…

  • MBlanc46

A “safe space”. How wonderful. How boring.

  • Weisheit77

Facebook… I travel internationally and it’s the most convenient way to say in contact.
I also use it a private blog only open to a limited number of people. I think I have 200 friends.
It’s an addiction I need to shake. I fought the social media urge for so long but then I started traveling. I should have created a second “dummy” account for obvious reasons long ago, but I have a hard time hiding my thoughts.

I like extreme heavy metal from Europe, and it allows me to follow that a little bit easier and find out when concerts are around. I also watch rugby and soccer and a lot of teams give out their information on FB and Twitter.

I do not have Twitter and in a lot of a ways I wish I just emailed everyone that I care about, instead of using Facebook.

If you don’t have it, don’t get it.

  • Realist.44

“Hate speech” is just a convenient way to censor those whom don’t have the same view as you do. Using blanket knee-jerk terms is what it’s all about for the puppet masters and “morally better than you” liberal lemmings to shut down any debate. Much the way they shout down the truth as “hate facts”. A fact is the truth. The truth is a neutral entity.

  • Hammerheart

I’m sure a few conservative leaning groups will disappear overnight while radical islam groups will remain.

  • WR_the_realist

Is The Bell Curve hate speech? 90% of lefties say it is.

    • Raymond Kidwell

All books are hate speech except those approved by the state

  • Light from the East

I was majored in electrical and computer science and I would say all of your information on Facebook is stored at its servers. Facebook administrator has a special interface and access to monitor your behaviors. Once you connect to Facebook, it knows your IP, browser, and operating system. They can even predict your preference and hobby based on the pages you go. Convenience comes with the price of your privacy. Only show the information you want to share with public when you use it. Facebook does has the power to give our information to the liberal government if you are a user. Now, its hate speech policy can be a threat to race realists, so one day, inevitably, right wing people must start their own internet or cloud service to prevent outsiders interfere their right to express. By the way if anyone here knows big data or is a big data engineer, then you may have a key to the truth of race realism since you have the data of the whole population, not just few samples.

    • HE2

For the reasons you stated, I expunged my f/b account years ago.
Hours, it took, the individual deletion of every photo, post, letter, any identifying artifact, whether mine or a friend’s.
Yet their software was still able to detect mine if a link unknowingly cruised me by f/b.
Realizing they had their hooks in my online life, I attempted to expunge any residual personal identifiers these creeps must still be storing; stymied; a no can do.
      Finally installed a scrambling shield.
F/B, Twitter, social media, are data collection banks, in my view, a perfect tool for our increasingly intrusive govt data miners. We, the naive public, have fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.

  • Hilis Hatki

    Welcome to the machine.

That was a disgusting article about a truly vile, hate-filled, anti-white negress. Who is being enriched by stupid self-hating white kids who buy her c(rap) “music.”
Thanks for passing it on, but I wish I was still unaware of that POS’ s existence.

    • kikz2

      tzun tzu… “know your enemy.”

not only the howling negress.. but who owns/publishes the forum in which she appears.
