ICE: Transgender Illegals Guaranteed ‘Right to Hormone Therapy’ in Detention

Melanie Hunter, CNS News, January 30, 2015

An official with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement testified Friday during a discussion on immigration detention facilities, hosted by the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, that transgender individuals are guaranteed “a right to hormone therapy.”

“With respect to treatment while in detention–the medical care standard–the standards guarantees a right to hormone therapy for individuals who need it for treatment, and even in facilities that are not covered by that standard. Our ICE House Service Corps is very vigilant on that issue to ensuring that individuals receive necessary hormone therapy,” said Kevin Landy, assistant director of the ICE office of detention policy and planning.

{snip}

As CNSNews.com previously reported, the 2011 Operations Manual ICE Performance-Based National Detention Standards–ICE’s operations manual for its detention facilities–offers guidelines for transgender illegal immigrants who have been receiving hormone therapy before they are apprehended.

“Transgender detainees who were already receiving hormone therapy when taken into ICE custody shall have continued access,” the report said. “All transgender detainees shall have access to mental health care, and other transgender-related health care and medication based on medical need. Treatment shall follow accepted guidelines regarding medically necessary transition-related care.”

  • In that there was a car wreck at the intersectionality of World War T and open borders. Combining one of our newest obsessions with one of our oldest obsessions.

  • D.B. Cooper

I’m sure the new Bruce Jenner approves. All of you must approve of it too. I mean, I’m not seeing anyone attacking any careers of whoever was responsible for allowing this policy in the first place.

    • Dwight

I don’t know what happened to Jenner. He was a superb athlete and one of the most ruggedly handsome men I have ever seen (excluding myself of course). I guess getting hooked up with three Armenian females with mandingo fever put the zap on his head.

    • Americaandthewestshouldbewhite

Somebody better warn Jenenr that once his package is cut off, it cannt be sewn back again.

    • Spikeygrrl

He’s probably just jealous of Kim. See what happens when you hang out with people who are famous just for being famous? At least Jenner actually DID SOMETHING to earn his former fame!

(Not that supermarket tabloids are real news…but if this one was, just for the sake of argument, the jokes would pretty much write themselves.)

  • Think about it: Not only are these illegal alien transgenders permitted to remain in this country, but something as costly as paying for their hormone therapy is being forced on the American taxpayer. We had no say in any of this. Even if we did, they wouldn’t listen. This administration is rogue to the core and they spit on our Constitution each and every day.

This government of ours is truly insane. There are no bounds to their idiocy, and they don’t give a damn about the financial burden being placed on Americans to finance this nonsense.

The U.S. federal government doesn’t just engage in blunders, they intentionally implement policies that are destructive to this nation’s founding stock. This is all about replacing the white majority with millions of brown, third-world peasant invaders – even if they happen to be freakish transgenders. Forcing Americans to pay for the hormone therapy of transgender illegals is being done out of spite against white Americans.

    • propagandaoftruth

Hormones and cell phones. Streets paved with.

Go to the USA, where you can trade your burrito for a taco for FREE!

  • David Ashton

    Reductio ad absurdum.

  • dd121

I would like to know just where exactly in the constitution did they guarantee this “right”.

    • SentryattheGate

As Pelosi said, when asked about constitutionality, “The Constitution!? You gotta be kidding!”

      • bilderbuster

Or as GW Bush quipped ” The constitution’s just a GD piece of paper”.

      • dd121

No wonder the government is starting to fall apart.

        • Spikeygrrl

          “Starting”?!

  • Caucasoid88

He wanted to fundamentally transform America. He did his bidding. Has anyone actually ever heard the President say he loved, or even liked, this country?

    • me

No, but he loves him some tranny Messicans! His tranny wife must be sooo jealous!

  • BlueSonicStreak

There are native-born trans Americans who cannot get hormone treatment covered…

    • SentryattheGate

They could commit crimes, get locked up and get treatments in prison—as crazy as that sounds!

      • BlueSonicStreak

        I’m aware. It’s nuts.

    • me

I don’t have a problem with not funding mentally ill people with body disfigurement…

      • BlueSonicStreak

You don’t want to give disordered people the only treatment that actually improves their quality of life. Got it. I’m so impressed by your sterling character that I will make special note of it.

I’ll also assume you extend the same attitude to how all health care is provided and you don’t just disdain trans people getting care…right?

Whatever, the main issue to me is that illegals are seriously receiving this for free over native-born people who go into personal debt to cover it. How do non-citizens get MORE health care benefits than citizens?

        • me

Thanks for making a ‘special note’ of it. Let me spell it out for you: people who have a problem with their sex are not in need of intensive surgery. They’re severely mentally ill and need intervention, but not feigned acceptance and a trip under the scalpel. It’s a type of body dysmorphia that affects them. Even with surgery, these poor individuals will never be what they wish. It’s in their DNA, in their skeletal structure, their hormones, their brain structure, their size….every cell in their body is dominated by the sex that they were assigned at birth. To deny what one is will be a ticket to a life lived in denial, lies, and misery–both for the person that’s mentally ill, and for the people who have to pretend that their son is now their ‘daughter’, or that their father is now their ‘mother’. Self-acceptance is the best indicator as to how mentally healthy one is.
You seem very passionate about this issue. Do you have a dog in this fight?

          • BlueSonicStreak

If you’re asking if I’m close to trans people, the answer is yes.

But I also cannot stand people being wilfully ignorant. When you say that trans people “need intervention” which is not sex reassignment, you sound like a civilian asking why cops don’t just shoot criminals in the leg. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Sex reassignment is the accepted treatment for a very good reason: nothing else “works” in any meaningful sense. If you want to argue with that, go on and give me any evidence that gender identity disorders can be tackled in ANY other way (talk therapy, medication, whatever), and see a significant reduction in symptoms and improvement in quality of life. All I’m hearing from people here is a total lack of understanding as to what transsexualism is and rage about its treatment being “culturally Marxist.”

(I would say that the trans community HAS been radicalized to a disturbing degree in recent decades, and that the ideas being inculcated in it are absolutely Marxist at their core. This is relatively new, while treatment of trans people pre-dates the first World War. Debate about gender theory is something of a separate issue from how transsexualism is treated as a disorder.)

Also, regarding your list of things that cannot be changed, you mentioned brain structure. The brain structure of trans people is almost certainly different. The limbic system is a likely candidate for where gender identity emerges in the brain (damage to that area can cause confused gender identity to emerge in people who previously had a normal sense of their own gender), and is probably disturbed in trans people.

  • LexiconD1

American citizen criminals ought not to be entitled to this crap, much less illegals.

  • Dwight

Non-binary, in-process tranny? No problem. Welcome to America!

  • IstvanIN

We have homeless veterans, we have veterans who are not getting the medical care they EARNED. We have a massive national debt. But we are supposed to pay for transgender hormone treatments? Heck, I would refuse to treat illegals for ANYTHING, just send them home and let their OWNvcountries take care of them..

    • SentryattheGate

But then they could get asylum status, claiming they would be subject to discrimination at home.

      • IstvanIN

Heck no. No more asylum for anyone unless they provided intelligence for us.

    • Chasmania

It almost drives one to tears to think of how radically different our country would be if you eliminate all the waste and squandering done by progressives.

Not only do you eliminate that huge section of under class non whites that are a drain on the nation, but the monies throw into that fire of diversity at least go back to those who earned it, but which could have fueled untold technological achievements. What we use today are probably leaps and jumps behind what could have been….

      Space colonization….cancer defeated….the height of human potential… ?

Maddening when weighed against having the many splendored jewel of diversity of today

  • Dave West

    Hormone therapy for illegal invaders?

Why not? it’s only the next logical step in the United States of Libtardistan!

Front page headlines read more and more like The Onion every day.

  • Luca

I wonder if they’ll also cover pedicures, manicures and hair extensions? I better shut up, I might be giving them ideas.

    • bilderbuster

Unfortunately they’re way ahead of you.
Remember when the idea of free condoms was far fetched?

      • Kenner

        Too late for their parents.

  • Maximo Partagas

What PC garbage. A psychiatrist working at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN told me that (I paraphrase) a man or woman tells him they are really the opposite sex, it is analogous to someone telling him they are a fish. It is a psychosis and needs to be treated as you would any serious mental illness not entertained. The suicide statistics for post-op transexuals is nearly double that of “non-transexuals” cutting off or adding on the pertinent genitals does not fix the fundamental problem, the mental disorder still exists.

    • bilderbuster

It’s like an anorexic thinking they’re fat.

    • BlueSonicStreak

It’s not a psychosis – anti-psychotic drugs would not work – and while the post-op suicide rate for transsexuals is higher than the overall population, it’s a fraction of the suicide rate for pre-op transsexuals.

Doesn’t sound like this guy is truly qualified to be prescribing anything to anybody if that’s the sort of sloppy stuff that comes out of his mouth.

      • Maximo Partagas

I said I paraphrased, he is a psychiatrist and he is employed at the mayo clinic in Rochester Mn. The bottom line of the conversation we had lead me to believe that transgenderism is a mental illness and mutilating the genitals is not the appropriate cure.

        • BlueSonicStreak

There IS no “cure,” just treatments of varying validity and usefulness. Of which sex reassignment is the best.

          Dude’s a moron.

          • Maximo Partagas

Aren’t you Mr. Diversity, sounds like you have personal knowledge of the subject.

  • Evette Coutier

How come other people have the right to the money I earn but I don’t?

    • IstvanIN

The government lets you keep more than your fair share.

      • Evette Coutier

Really, and just what is my fair share of my life that the government owns?

        • IstvanIN

          40 percent I would imagine.

      • Evette Coutier

You feel free to worship your masters whip, but don’t expect the rest of us to be subservient sheep.

        • IstvanIN

How uncharitable! You do realize there are millions of welfare recipients depending on your labor!

    • Chasmania

Collectively it’s because we let them do it to us, generally speaking.

And it’s not that resistance is futile, it’s that those who would/should resist aren’t prepared to risk their and their families financial and social well being along with the other punitive actions the government will take. The government, if nothing else, does a great job in ham-fisted responses to any signs of trouble to it’s power structure.

Only till a critical mass of people willing to risk all is achieved, we’re stuck in this limbo.

      • Evette Coutier

        You make a good point.

        • Chasmania

          Thank you for noticing !

          • Evette Coutier

            Intelligence deserves recognition.

The scary part is that there probably IS something even crazier being done by the Feds. I shudder to think how deep the depravity can go.

  • Bon, From the Land of Babble

What next? Money to help illegal alien transgenders change their voices?

    …oh Wait!

Gov’t Spending $152,500 to Study Voice Therapy for Transgenders

The federal government is spending $152,000 to study “voice therapy” for transgenders, saying it is incumbent to being “accepted as one’s preferred gender….This study will illuminate the capabilities of the human larynx and inform the relationship between voice production and perception…Results of this project will advance an aspect of gender transition vital to being accepted as one’s preferred gender.”

    Translation:

Repent you hateful homophobic bigots! Open up your wallet, wide, because illegal alien trans-genders deserve what you’ve earned far more than your hateful ***.

    • IstvanIN

They hardly represent the average White guy.

      • Bon, From the Land of Babble

I don’t think an illegal alien transgender represents any White guy, let alone an “average” White guy.

        • IstvanIN

Illegals don’t represent any White person. Period.

        • Well, we could actually be more thorough and perform penile amputations on all male illegal aliens. I’d do that for free, but a nice government approbation and salary wouldn’t hurt me any.

Since I don’t speak any Spanish, they would just have to be chained down. I already own a set of bolt-cutters. Stopping the bleeding would be someone else’s job.

          • De Doc

A blow torch should suffice to cauterize the surgical wound.

      • B.A_2014

They represent too many white men imo.

    • ghettovalley

Well, time to pack it up. I’m officially done with America.

  • bilderbuster

No expense will be spared when it comes to destroying Western Man.

    • Chasmania

A great point and post. I salute you.

  • LHathaway

Why isn’t my weenie-enhancement ‘therapy’ covered? I’m sure my future girlfriend considers it a ‘need’. I’m sure she’d be up for plastic surgery, too. Another need.

  • I am very happy as I was born, somewhat bitter about my upbringing, but generally OK with it all. I like being a man, except when I don’t have all the right ideas everyone else expects, or when the police want to “talk” with me, or a thousand other times. If we’re giving their sissies estrogen, I’m all for it. In fact, I am going to spread the word that we’re giving it to them all, just to turn them into “puto” queers against their will.

    • B.A_2014

People ARE very tiring. I can’t say I’m fond of people either. I hate most people but I hate white people just a little less.

Transgendered mentally ill third worlders? That’s who the tax dollars are being spent on?

    • Chasmania

Remember what Jeb said. They’re doing it out of love.

  • Americaandthewestshouldbewhite

And I was wondering where my tax dollars were going because of the increase in taxes. To pay for hormonal treatment of illegals. How nice of obama

  • Chasmania

Expecting them to ‘transition’ into law abiding and decent citizens : Racist

Drugs and therapy for sex change ? RIGHT of BIRTH ???

Why are the “rights” of these foreigners more important than my right to keep my sensibilities from being assaulted on a daily basis by left wing radicals war on White America ?

    • Your rights are of net negative worth to them.

    • Spikeygrrl

      Imaginary “Rights”:

NOBODY has the “right” not to be offended.
      …but…
NOBODY has the “right” to use tax dollars to fund ELECTIVE (*) medical procedures or regimens — no matter who they’re for.

(*) Elective medical procedures/regimens are those you want but don’t NEED. E.g., getting breast implants is elective; treating breast cancer is not.

      • BlueSonicStreak

Surgery that a group of people are several thousand times more likely to commit suicide without is not what I would consider elective treatments that people “want but don’t need.” It’s not at all like breast implants. That’s an ignorant thing to suggest.

But non-citizens don’t have rights to ANY medical treatment, This is the point that everyone is dropping to whine about the idea of trans people getting any medical care at all. Transsexuals in America have a hell of a time getting their treatments covered, and these people get it for running illegally across the border? What else should they get, a medal?

        • Spikeygrrl

Transexualism is not a physical disorder, it’s a psychosis. The only “treatment” it needs is confinement to a psychiatric facility where they cannot interfere with normal people

But why should we the taxpayers pay for even this much concession to raving lunatics? Nature works in mysterious ways; suicide takes these freaks out of the gene pool, and doesn’t cost the rest of us one thin dime.

          • BlueSonicStreak

…Wow. Pleased that anyone commits suicide. Well, I guess we have nothing further to talk about on that point. Never mind.

Transsexualism is not a psychosis, though. Believing you are LITERALLY the opposite sex might be a symptom of psychosis; extreme discomfort with your sex is not, as it involves recognition of what the reality is. Additionally, no other symptoms of psychosis are associated with transsexualism, and the disorder does not respond to anti-psychotic medication.

Again, like most people here, you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. I have no doubt that future research into the causal factors of transsexualism is going to put a lot of egg on your collective faces.

          • ghettovalley

Our tax dollars should not be used for this, period. We have children starving. We have homeless vets. We have a million better and more pressing uses for this money, other than giving some mentally disturbed pervert hormone therapy.

          • BlueSonicStreak

Whether or not tax dollars should ever be spent on it is, in my view, a separate issue from the one of non-citizens getting treatment over and above what actual citizens get.

      • Chasmania

Actually, I wasn’t asserting a right to not being offended. I was asserting a right of being able to do something ABOUT it. 🙂

As noted by the quotation marks I used, and as you nailed right on the head, there is no right to force taxpayers to provide bogus treatment for this so called condition, nor a myriad of others.

  • De Doc

We now have the United States of Dystopia, where being effete, degenerate and illegal is the new social norm.

  • WR_the_realist

More and more of the mainstream media headlines look like they were taken straight from The Onion. Now the transgendered have a right to illegally immigrate into my country and get hormone therapy. Folks, just 15 years ago nobody could have made this up.

  • Fr. John+

Ms. Barnhardt is correct. When a nation starts stealing your tax dollars for perversion, it is time to leave- ideologically, politically, (a la Jefferson’s call for revolution) or geographically- take your pick. The USA is dead. Requiescat in Pace. It truly is an oligarchy of satanists.
