As National Guard Prepares to Leave Ferguson, Michael Brown’s Stepfather Faces Investigation

Manny Fernandez and Mitch Smith, New York Times, December 2, 2014

As National Guard troops began withdrawing from this troubled region, police officials said on Tuesday that they were investigating whether the stepfather of Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager fatally shot by a white police officer in August, incited a riot by issuing an invective-filled call to action outside the police department Nov. 24, not long before protesters began smashing windows and burning cars.

The angry outburst by the stepfather, Louis Head, occurred just after the announcement that a grand jury decided not to indict the officer, Darren Wilson, in Mr. Brown’s death. St. Louis County Police officials said they were investigating Mr. Head’s comments as part of a broader probe into the widespread violence following the grand jury’s decision.

Mr. Head, reached by phone Tuesday, said he had not heard from the police about an investigation. “I’m not worried about nothing,” said Mr. Head, who declined to discuss the comments he made last week.

After a stretch of days with no violent protests, Gov. Jay Nixon announced on Tuesday that the Missouri National Guard would wind down its operations in the region. {snip}

Although Thomas Jackson, the Ferguson police chief, told Fox News on Monday that the authorities were “pursuing” Mr. Head’s statements, it remained unclear whether the people who started fires, broke windows or looted stores had been influenced by his remarks–or had even heard them.

On Nov. 24, shortly before 8:30 p.m., as hundreds of protesters who were assembled outside the police station here learned Officer Wilson was not being charged, Mr. Head embraced Mr. Brown’s mother, Lesley McSpadden, on the hood of a car. Protesters had been listening to the announcement on loudspeakers and car stereos, and the family’s reaction was videotaped and published by The New York Times. Mr. Head turned to the crowd, stomped on the hood and shouted, repeatedly, “Burn this bitch down!”

While making his outburst, Mr. Head asked for a microphone, but he was not handed one, and it seems most likely that many in the crowd, spread throughout a four-lane street and adjacent parking lots, had no idea that he had spoken.

He should be charged with inciting a riot but liberals don’t punish their own.

    • He should have his home burned down, but since he is doubtless a Section-8 renter, HUD would simply provide him another one, at taxpayer expense.

      • Bon, From the Land of Babble

Let’s ask this guy how he feels about “burn the b**** down.”

Let him and other Ferguson business owners sit on Louis Head’s jury…

        • Maybe the Pakistani thought he was moving to some different America.

          • Reynardine

Many foreigners get a vision of America from our most repulsive export, Hollywood, which shows blacks as a persistent victim who can do no wrong. The truth is as shocking as coming into your own looted store in the morning.

I work with many Indian H1-B visa holders who have some pretty strange delusions of America. They’re smart enough, however, to realize that the whites are the best to live around. Many blacks have learned to target Indians because they know that they work for tech companies and consequently make bank.

“I’m not worried about nothing,” said Mr. Head

And he’s exactly correct. Nothing is going to happen to him, especially with Obama, Holder, and Missouri’s spineless Governor Jay Nixon involved.

    • Realist

      This is exactly correct.

  • MekongDelta69

Anybody want to fade me that the saintly Mr. Head will not face any charges whatsoever.

Hell, he might even sue THEM – and MAY even win in this Alice In Wonderland world we live in!

    • Spikeygrrl

      “…fade me…” ?

      • MekongDelta69

Ah, sorry. It’s an old term, used when shooting craps.

If you’re the shooter and you bet, someone has to bet you don’t make what you’re going for. If nobody bets against you, your bet is meaningless. When that somebody meets your bet, it was called “fading a bet” or the shooter calling for somebody to “fade me.”

[I was a NYC brick and concrete street kid – when NYC – and America, were normal.]

The Gentle Giant’s accomplice Dorian Johnson deserves a lot more blame for the violence.
It was he who created the lie that Brown had his hands down and was shot in back while pleading for life.

    • MBlanc46

Perjury, or giving a false statement to the police, or obstruction of justice, or whatever the relevant statute is. But, don’t count on it.

    • Prosecution as an accomplice before the fact in the strongarm store robbery would be a good start. Hanging at least one felony on the lying creep would be a public service by the local DA’s office.

  • superlloyd

How much more evidence is needed to charge this idiot? Prima facie, this is an open and shut case.

  • Michael Brown’s mother is not married to Louis Head, so not a “stepfather.”

    • Reynardine

At one point the chances of a black sleeping with another black is extraordinarily high, so really they’re all just one giant fambly.

      • Ohmy!

        I laughed at this remark.

  • Yves Vannes

Everyone who perjured themselves before the Grand Jury should be prosecuted.

In other news, historians are investigating whether Hitler disliked Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals and communists. – Captain Obvious.

    • Bryce Armstrong

Then maybe Captain Obvious can show me where in Mein Kampf Hitler mentions disliking faggots or why anybody would assume he did, outside of the PC Liberal marketing campaign.

  • Da Troof

    “unarmed black teenager”

    That’s 6,294 by my count.

    • Who Me?

This sentence, “Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager fatally shot by a white police officer in August”, has been trumpeted around the world ever since that August afternoon.
It’s time the narrative was changed to something like, “Michael Brown, the 6’4″, 300 lb. 18 year old black felon who charged and tried to disarm White Officer Wilson…”

      • Reynardine

Somehow the unarmed Michael Brown couldn’t hurt Darren Wilson if he tried, but Daniel Pantaleo used his arm to magically kill Eric Garner in seconds.

        The hypocrisy is sickening.

      • Charles Martel

Just like St Trayvon was going to the store to buy Skittles for his little brother!

      • Tom_in_Miami

While we’re at it, the opening sentence has this gem in it: “As National Guard troops began withdrawing from this troubled region…” How about “As National Guard troops began withdrawing from the region taken over by rioting, looting, assaulting blacks…”

    • I have heard that description so many times I am starting to question whether he had both his upper limbs amputated.

  • Bon, From the Land of Babble

Brown’s stepfather, Louis Head, has his own rap sheet going back to 1996 and is a member of the Bloods Gang.

Imagine that: Obama, Holder, Sharpton, Crump and Jackson taking up for the bloods. How’s that working out all you White Obama “dope and chains” voters?

End of the day: Michael Brown lived and died a thug.

    • Reynardine

I watched the New York and St. Louis protests live from yet another Gullible White streaming media site, and yeah, only black lives matter. Only black names were chanted. There are PLENTY of white victims of dishonest cops, but their names weren’t even acknowledged. The “white privilege” meme is sickening beyond belief to someone who has seen the nasty underbelly of the world do cruel things to innocent people.

    • Charles Martel

I noticed Head was decked out in all red at The Gentle Giant’s funeral but was unaware the media had identified him as a member of the Bloods. Is there a source for your comment?

      • Bon, From the Land of Babble

Through text messages a top-ranked Ferguson cop confirmed that Head and the Brown family are members of the notorious street gang.

A police officer named “Dan” with decades on the force and connected to Ferguson chief of police Tom Jackson confirmed that Head and the Brown family are bloods.

        http //gotnews com/breaking-cops-michaelbrown-stepfather-inciting-ferguson-race-riot-blood-gangbanger/

And yes, they were decked out in red for the funeral – and press conferences.

  • The NY Times just makes stuff up, don’t they? This claim that nobody heard step-pappy’s exhortation to arson is preposterous. I would suggest that business owners with uninsured losses sue him, but what wealth do you think he has? Thousand dollar sneakers and five thousand dollar rims on his SUV that he’s behind on the payments ain’t leading anywhere.

  • Bon, From the Land of Babble

The issue is murky as to whether Lesley McSpadden (the gentle giant’s mother) and Louis Head (of “burn down the b**** fame) are married or not.

    According to USAToday, they ARE married;

just before Brown’s death, the family had been in a celebratory mood. Lesley McSpadden, 34, got married about a month ago

    http //www usatoday com/story/news/nation/2014/08/25/ferguson-michael-brown-missouri-police/14594185/

But…according to the Conservative Treehouse, three days ago:

Within the police report (on the t-shirt selling assault) Lesley McSpadden and Louis Head are outlined as NOT MARRIED. Louis Head is listed as McSpadden’s boyfriend.

    http //theconservativetreehouse com/2014/12/01/mike-brown-never-had-a-step-dad-police-report-shows-lesley-mcspadden-and-louis-head-not-married-however-both-participated-in-physical-attack-during-october-robbery/

    • Reynardine

The illusion of marriage is to draw away from the utter void of any social institutions that the blacks support besides welfare.

  • MBlanc46

I doubt that they have the backbone to prosecute him. I’d love to see it, as it would almost certainly result in more insurrection and the creation of more race realists.

  • Paleoconn

    Lock that b****** up!

  • Korean guy

I know it is not something to joke about but one of the funniest things (and also quite reasonable as well) I have ever read on AmRen was,

“Officer Wilson should immediately proclaim publicly that he is gay and Brown called him a f%g and he will be able to avoid most of possible consequences”

    • LHathaway

Race trumps sex, or sexual orientation, if yer black. Nice try, though.

  • Those that only suffer microaggressions should only start microriots.

  • They should surely be investigating the mainstream press, their owners, individual journalists, president Obama and Mr Holder, for a start.

Without them, it would probably have been nothing more than a day’s coverage or no coverage at all. The mobs would not have been told, essentially, that their ‘grievances’ are justified and that there needs to be ‘justice’.

I think they are more to blame than whoever this guy is supposed to be. It is like blaming the flying spark when others have filled a house with gasoline and explosives.
