A Six Flags fight this past Saturday turned a Halloween celebration called Fright Fest into a fight fest that resulted in multiple injuries at Six Flags America. One 15-year-old boy was beaten so severely during the Six Flags fight that he’s in a coma.
According to Fox News, initially the company denied that the Six Flags fight even took place, saying, “Reports of mass fighting or serious injuries are completely inaccurate. The safety of our guests is of top priority.” But Six Flags officially changed their stance when they released a statement on Sunday night that said, “This park has a zero tolerance for inappropriate behavior. We will not allow any individuals or groups to disrupt the typical atmosphere of fun and enjoyment found here.”
Initial 911 reports began to stream in at about 8:50 p.m. local time that violence had broken out. According to witnesses, the Six Flags fight was not simply a single brawl that grew in size. There were multiple fights throughout the park, even outside the gates. Some customers claim there were not enough security personnel available to handle the crowds.
Zina Pierre is a family friend of the DuVal High School freshman whose skull was fractured. She says the boy was caught up in the Six Flags fight even though he didn’t want to be involved.
“His life is lying in the balance as a result of someone randomly hitting him,” said Pierre. “He was hit blindly by the perpetrators and he was staggering, trying to get up, and some else came along to finish the deed. He should be in school today. He shouldn’t be in the hospital.”
The Six Flags fight resulted in a variety of injuries, from missing teeth to bruises and cuts. Some witnesses even say they saw someone wielding a knife. Police have not made any arrests yet and the incident is being investigated.
