Several Walmart Locations Locked Up Ammunition During Weekend Protests

Alexis Zotos, KMOV, October 15, 2014

Several Walmart stores in the St. Louis area have pulled ammunition from the shelves following recent protests.

Monday night, demonstrators made their way into Walmart locations in Maplewood, Ferguson and Bridgeton, forcing the stores to close while several arrests were made.

On Wednesday afternoon, the empty shelves at Maplewood looked like there had been a mass purchase of ammunition. But according to an employee, it was locked up in the back.

There were no reports of looting on Monday, but Walmart said it was a taking a precaution.

“If there is a history of violence and looting and other activity that are going on or things that are putting associates and customers at risk–then yes, decisions can be made based on those circumstances,” said Walmart spokesperson Brian Nick.

According to Nick, the Maplewood store made the decision Monday to lock their ammunition in the back, prior to protests. The Ferguson store did the same.

  • Wise move.

If they need extra security, hire this guy, the owner of a gun shop just north of Ferguson that the undertow threatened but never broached:

    • Luca

I only wish his shirt had read: “Make my day”.

      • True, it’s not the “day” he should be worried about. When the sun goes down, the stars come out.

        • Earl P. Holt III

When I was 10 or 12, my mother was driving me at night along a very “iffy” street called Delmar, which used to be the dividing line in St. Louis city between blacks (north) and whites (south.)

There were a great many “night-crawlers” out and about, which prompted me to ask her: “Why are blacks like stars?”

Answer: They come out at night, and the bright ones are few and far between. (Never forgot this…)

          • Alexandra1973

That’s a good one. Your mom knows the score.

          • Earl P. Holt III

It was MY joke: My mother was far more (ahem) sympathetic with them, unfortunately…

            Oops on his mothers behalf

          • maingearinarkansas

Coming originally from Florida, we had a scourge of bugs that flew while mating called “Love Bugs” (for obvious reasons). The analogy was made that they resembled the AfroAmerican population because they were black, all they did was f**k, and bother white people. I used to be offended.

          • rommel10

i remember my dad saying ” lock the doors and roll up the windows” when ever we went through a negro neighborhood and i am 62 years old

          • Earl P. Holt III

I’m 62, and we did the same thing…

        • me

Are you talking about World Star Hip Hop?

    • Garrett Brown

And no protesters messed with that man on that day, Amen.

    • thegodsofeden

Wonder if the woman in the background was on the phone telling her homeys not to bother or they’d get an a** full of lead?

      • bilderbuster

And then cursed the White man for being “a crazy a** cracker”.

    • Uncle Bob

He’s got both NATO and the Warsaw Pact on his side! Go ahead… make his day! lol

  • Hey you WalMart guys, better lock up the big screen TVs, etc. too. Don’t worry about the books though. They’re safe.

    • Michael Whalen

Also, no need to worry about work boots, work shirts, and work gloves.

      • Trailblazer work boots were very popular among urban “yoofs” for some years. Curiously, they always looked immaculate, as if they had never been worn to work.

  • Easyrhino

If Walmart really wanted to help the cause in St. Louis they’d be giving away buckets of free condoms.

    • me

They should have handed out the guns and ammo. It’s called letting a problem take care of itself….

    • Alexandra1973

      As if they’d use them.

      • bilderbuster

They’d be used as balloons fo da Birfday parties.

    • Earl P. Holt III

I know a Circuit Judge in St. Louis who used to donate boxes of condoms to the annual Boy Scout Food Drive…

  • MekongDelta69

I think Q.D. (below), said it all.

You want to stop blacks? H&K, Colt, S&W, etc., etc., ad infinitum (in the right hands), are well equipped to do the job.

  • Dwight

The poverty cycle repeats as in Detroit, New Orleans, etc. Black behavior drives white merchants out of the hood.

    • Ron Cheaters

3 years from now. Dateline will be doing a story titled “What happened to Ferguson?” as the cameras graze boarded-up homes, and black’s are congregating on front yards having illegal gun swaps. Dumb whites in the voice over “we should have done more” Dan Rather pipes in.. “How did the town go over the edge over a proven guilty black aspiring rapper named Mike Brown? As we’re about to see, the white middle class had enough demands and decided to go elsewhere, tonight, we focus on those who decided to stay. And ask Why?””

      • Periapsis

All they would need do is pan the camera 360 degrees, and the video would speak for itself.

        • The newsies could save themselves a little effort by panning their cameras only 180 degrees. They are partly responsible for what happened by agit-propping the issue as enablers. They don’t really report news; they stir up trouble by hyping half-truths and falsehoods, and then report on the messes they have thereby exacerbated.

Didn’t they knowingly run a picture of Trayvon Martin taken when he was approximately ten years old? Any of them with an IQ over room-temperature kids of their own would know the difference between the appearance of a 10 year-old and a 17 year-old, so I must conclude this was deliberate deception on their part.

          • Periapsis

Precisely, and that is one reason why I quit journalism. I cannot recommend it as a career to a white American, at least working for the laughing stock known as the Mainstream Media. It’s the main stream alright in the middle of a main sewer under Wall Street in New York. Indeed they did run a picture of Trayvon when he was ten years old. Indeed they cause trouble, that’s why sometimes their reporters and cameramen end up as victims. Another reason why I quit. If I am going to be in a dangerous situation, I will not be carrying a camera, I will be carrying a guns.

    • Jefferson

I don’t think there are any White merchants left in Ferguson, Missouri. It is all dominated by Pakistanis and Indians now.

  • dd121

    Why don’t I feel safer?

  • Luca

All Walmart has to do is broadcast classical music over the PA system.

    • Earl P. Holt III

Both kinds of music, Country AND Western…!

      • When I was in the Denver County jail in 2001, the blacks in the unit pitched a fit over the deputy playing classic rock & roll. When one of the deputies was making his rounds, I wispered “Country & western” through the bars to him. His eyes widened with the delight I see in those of my daughter at Christmas.

He then his successor after the 4:00 PM shift change played country & western for the whole rest of the day. The blacks were completely freaking out before very long. The next day, we were back to classic rock & roll, and none of them complained: funny, that.

        • Earl P. Holt III

          HILARIOUS, that !

        • Michael Robert Ryan

Slayer scares the $hit out of them

    • LexiconD1

And their greeter hand them job applications when they enter. Those scare them off faster than Beethoven.

      • Periapsis

Alice Cooper doing a gig there would scare them away even faster, heh! Especially when he sings his “Poison” song.

    • Garrett Brown

  • Glen

    Just checking.

    • mikekingjr

Been receiving the same treatment from the mods. Some seem to be overly sensitive imo.

  • Earl P. Holt III

They SHOULD have been locking up the liquor and beer, because THAT was the mob’s highest priority….

If you want to laugh yourself silly, look up “The Racism of Lootie”.

Can’t decide if it was written in seriousness or as an over-the-top parody to placate a leftist professor…

If it is a parody, then it’s one of the greatest trolls I have ever read…

          • Alexandra1973

I looked it up. And it was pretty funny.

          • Garrett Brown

            Lootie and the blowfish ROFL

        • I can actually understand stealing something to drink after Hurricane Katrina. With so much of New Orleans flooded, the city tap water can not possibly have been safe.

  • Earl P. Holt III

What we REALLY need is a 12 month season, bucks and does, and no limits.

    And a bounty…!

  • Walmart should set traps to capture looters. I’m sure it can put them to good use as attorneys – since Walmart insists that blacks make such good attorneys.

  • IstvanIN

Unlike the bus driver attacks on Whites, Whites acting in self-defense at a NASCAR event would never get off the news.

    • bilderbuster

      I would hope so!
It could inspire more Whites to resist the Black Plague.

  • mael

They will get hammered just for being prudent.

  • Raydonn

Well I guess there won’t be any gunfire now……….oh wait, never mind………..

  • It seems that the Wally World managers know the score. Is this part of the national “conversation on race” Eric Holder said we were supposed to have?

  • Rhialto

My knowledge of urban dynamics is limited. So I must seek the advice of those knowledgeable: Does the WalMart action constitute Racism? If so, is it Milliracism, Microracism, or Quasiracism?

    Informed responses deeply appreciated.

    • drunkbobby

You left out macroracism, being racist against fat blacks

  • Periapsis

It sounds like the employees saw what was coming and did the smart thing, blacks steal ammunition every chance they get and hordes of armed blacks during a riot can only be trouble.

  • Fox Blue River

Tyrone and Sheneequa wanted to go shoot sporting clays this weekend and all you racists ruined their good times.

  • The police technically could lock up protesters they catch inside a Wal Mart or other retailer, as this would constitute trespassing. Retail stores are private property, and are open for shopping, not protesting.

  • rommel10

    smart thinking
