HHS Secretary: There May Be Other Cases of Ebola in the U.S.

Philip Klein, Washington Examiner, October 9, 2014

Secretary of Health and Human Services Sylvia Burwell said that despite the best efforts of health officials, Americans have to prepare for the reality that there may be more cases of Ebola in the United States.

“We had one case and I think there may be other cases, and I think we have to recognize that as a nation,” Burwell said at a media breakfast hosted by the journal Health Affairs and held at the Washington, D.C. offices of the Kaiser Family Foundation.

She expressed confidence in the screening process that has already been in place in travelers’ departure cities, but acknowledged that no such system is 100 percent.

“The most important place with regard to taking care of screening is actually at the point of departure,” she said. “And that’s been in place for many months and as we know, we have a case. That case sadly is deceased. But for many months, we did not have a case that entered the country. And we know that that screening has worked in the sense of 80 people have been pulled from the lines in the screening and stopped in the home country. And that’s the most important place to do that.”

Based on Obola’s policies, it’s virtually a given that there will be other cases in the US.

Lib’s are dying to get Ebola, to prove how humanitarian they are.

    • superlloyd

Why is this so? I believe Obongo wants Ebola in the US primarily to show that the Ebola disease can effect any country in the world, in order for the third world African cesspool countries to feel better about themselves, and to prevent us judging them on their own, self-inflicted problems. We can’t have disparate impact in deadly disease infection, can we?

Of secondary importance is the belief that Ebola in the US will increase the urgency in finding an American cure or antidote to this African caused deadly disease.

Or, maybe I am being too cynical and he simply believes that quarantining affected African countries to be racist.

I’m not sure one can be too cynical when it comes to Oblabla.

  • None of our “leaders” has the sack to call for closing entry from West Africa.

  • propagandaoftruth

Our merit based civil service is assuring that racism will be opposed during this black epidemic.

    • IstvanIN

The Federal Civil Service did away with merit back in the 80s.

      • dd121

The year was 1973 in a Supreme Court case. If you think that government services have gotten worse since then, you’d be right. Today they hire based on color; not “merit”.

  • IstvanIN

Funny how it is OUR responsibility to bring democracy to the world but it THEIR responsibility to make sure we don’t get Ebola. Why am I not optimistic?

    • archer

      We don’t have democracy here.

  • Mary

I feel about as confident that Ebola will be contained in Africa as I am that the border will be sealed (ever). And our worthless government officials obviously care not one whit about endangering Americans’ lives. So what else is new?

  • The actions of Obama in the Ebola crisis rise to the level of criminality. Impeach him now.

    • Next in the news, President Oogabooga wants to bring everyone with Ebola here to the United States and send them to college. “Dey gots ta be haben dey dreams, gnome sayin?”

Also trending, Oogabooga’s own teleprompter short-circuited itself and died, rather than continue as an accomplice in delivering this weapons-level dreck to the US public.

“Just hangin’ wit my gnomies”–Gnome sayin’

As I recently posted, isn’t it a form of bio terrorism?

  • dd121

By not quarantining Africa, Obama is responsible for every Ebola death that occurs in this country.

    • George Costanza

Yes and every EV-D68 deaths as well!! I hope the souls of the all those dead children haunts his dreams

      • dd121

I might go a little farther than haunting his dreams, but I don’t want a visit from the FBI.

  • So then what we have seen so far are the government’s “best efforts”?

  • MannyR

God lord just impeach this fool already. For gods sakes what’s it going to take, him blending a baby on live television

  • IKUredux

If you would allow me to remind you. The government hates us. The gov. would be delighted to put us in “our place”. Do NOT believe ANYTHING the gov. tells you about anything. Especially Ebola. Why on Earth would this gov. save us from anything? Have they not gone out of their way to make our lives more hellacious? More tenuous? More “third worldish”? Because, that is our so called government’s policy on everything: make the Whites of the U.S. suffer for the so called abominations and, I don’t know, whatchamacallitts that we did to Africa. You know, you and me. Shoot, I don’t know about you, but I just got back from personally exploiting Africans. Yup.

this is a peachy black asshole.. i hope he’s put in mandatory quarantine, and charged w/a
crime…..and…..after it is confirmed that he does not infact have ebola, i
hope someone beats the livin p-whinning shite out of him for being an asshole.
what’s next, spitting on people and or biting? http://rt(dot)com/usa/194736-airline-passenger-removed-ebola-joke/

    • Je$$e Jack$on once bragged about spitting in white people’s food during his early days doing restaurant work. He inadvertently made a great case for nobody patronizing any restaurant that hires blacks.

      • kikz2

        he’s a classy one……..(nose crinkle) somehow….that doesn’t surprise me 😛
