Dozens Arrested on Fourth Day of St. Louis Protests

Alan Scher Zagier and Jim Salter, AP, October 14, 2014

Police arrested dozens of protesters during the final of four days of rallies and civil disturbance to express anger at the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, a black 18-year-old, by a white police officer in a St. Louis suburb.

Organizers of the Ferguson October protests dubbed the day “Moral Monday” and committed acts of civil disobedience in and around St. Louis. More than 50 people were arrested.

Hundreds of protesters marched on Ferguson police headquarters where they stayed for almost four hours–despite torrential rain and tornado watches–to mark how long Brown’s body was left in a Ferguson street after he was killed.

Some protesters used a bullhorn to read the names of people killed by police nationwide. Christian, Jewish and Muslim clergy members–some of whom were among the first arrested–led a prayer service before marching to the police station two blocks away.

Protests have been common since Brown, who was unarmed, was killed by Darren Wilson on Aug. 9. Tensions escalated last week when a white police officer in St. Louis fatally shot another black 18-year-old, Vonderrit Myers Jr., who police say fired the first shots.

“My faith compels me to be here,” Bishop Wayne Smith of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri said outside Ferguson police headquarters. “I want to show solidarity, and call attention to the structural racism of St. Louis.”

Protesters were met by about 40 officers in riot gear. Several clergy members approached individual officers and asked them to “repent” for Brown’s killing and other acts of violence. Some officers engaged the protesters, while others ignored the efforts.

Among several other rallies, about 100 protesters blew whistles at St. Louis City Hall that echoed off the marble walls. Protest leader Kennard Williams presented a list of four demands to Jeff Rainford, chief of staff for Mayor Francis Slay. {snip}

The demands called for an end to participation in a program providing military equipment to police, body cameras for all officers, a civilian review board for police and mandatory independent investigations whenever police kill someone.

Rainford said St. Louis is not part of the militarization program; he promised the other demands would be taken seriously.

At the Edward Jones Dome, where the St. Louis Rams were playing the San Francisco 49ers Monday night, protesters briefly draped a banner over a Jumbotron video board that read “Rams fans know on and off the field black lives matter.”

  • The problem is, for the most part, most of these Immoral Monday events took place in front of institutions that are already on their side.

It’s like the Occutards: They “occupied” cities that are already far left.

    • connorhus

That’s a real problem for them because there are no institutions these days that are not committed to the liberal/Multi-Cult cause. It makes it almost entertaining for us Whites who can see what has been happening.

    • It seems likely that the Occutards “occupied” those cities because most of them live in those places and didn’t want to have to drive very far. I thought it would have been fun to see the whole financial industry pull out of Wall Street and move to a conservative city where the police crack heads for that sort of nonsense. According to Wikipedia, the financial industry there comprises 35% of New York City’s gross domestic product. No welfare-oriented city could survive taking a 35% economic hit.

      “Occutards”: hee, hee, hee.

  • DaveMed

Does that make today Trayvon Tuesday and tomorrow White Privilege Wednesday?

  • propagandaoftruth

The called it moral Monday and got arrested. The tire fire race riot smolders on.

How about Moron Monday to go along with Stupid Sunday, Felon Friday, Thug Thursday and White Wimp Wednesday?

    “Moral Monday”

Do I really need to add a sarcastic comment here?

  • “My faith compels me to be here,” Bishop Wayne Smith of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri said outside Ferguson police headquarters. “I want to show solidarity, and call attention to the structural racism of St. Louis.”

Want to bet this retard Bishop has never protested black on black crime? He’s a Marxist in a priestly collar. He deserves to be ignored and I hope his church members do just that. And leave the church in droves.

    • connorhus

Gotta be sure he makes an appearance to get his share of the money they think is going to be spread all around. Trouble is I don’t think they even sell enough bonds to grease the palms these days.

      • Xerxes22

Bishop Wayne Smith is a Dumb White Liberal. He actually believes that he is doing God’s work and this will help him get into heaven because God loves Black criminals and anyone who supports them.

        • none of your business

I don’t think Episcopalians and the Cof E believe in God and heaven anymore. Isn’t being gay a requirement to be an Episcopalian biship nowdays?

          • Xerxes22

A lot of the new members in the Episcopalian church are Blacks from Africa and the Caribbean and they aren’t too fond of Gays and their lifestyle. That’s going to be a lot of fun. The Episcopalian church still has a lot of wealthy older White members who pay the bills. So the church is still rich and they can afford to get involved in this nonsense.

    • MBlanc46

As I understand it, the Episcopal Church is hemorrhaging members.

      • jayvbellis

I had a successful, nice, fairly long conversation with this Episcopal Bishops staff – a very nice, sincere woman, not a Marxist by any means.

Please make the calls, write the e-mails. Be polite, firm but fair.

If we go down, we go down. But go down resisting, in an intelligent, principled way as befits a good White man.

        • tlk244182

I have no plans to go down in an intelligent, principled way, or any other way. These Bolsheviks are the enemy. Wade into them. Spill THEIR blood. Shoot THEM in the belly….From now on, we don’t take it, we dish it out. Deus vult.
          Figuratively speaking, of course….

    • none of your business

If there is only one diocese for the entire state of Missouri I doubt there are many Episcopalians in Missouri. The only White Protestant churches with memberships more than a few million nationwide are the Baptists and other fundamental Churches that put their Christian beliefs first and are not part of the anti White coalition. But even the Baptists are into summer trips to Haiti to rebuild after that earthquake when was it, 10 years ago?
I wonder if this Episcopal bishop is gay as that seems to be the current qualification for promotion in the Episcopal Church. Speaking of, I saw a news clip last night that had a LBGT contingent in the demonstration. I hoped for a riot to break out and the traitorous White gays to be beaten by the poor, oppressed down trodden blacks.

      • Lion’s Mane

I’m very sorry to have to disagree about the Baptists. Having been raised one myself and having family members who still attend church regularly, I can say that today’s Protestant Evangelical or Fundamentalist churches are definitely part of the anti-White coalition. For example, the leader of the Southern Baptists today is a Negro — probably the first in the history of the denomination.

I actually suspect that there is somewhat less miscegenation in Catholic and Orthodox churches in the U.S. than in the average mainstream Protestant church, because these denominations with a strong sense of European culture are less appealing to typical Negroes.

  • Luca

“The demands called for an end to participation in a program providing military equipment to police,…”

I may have to agree with the protestors on this one. I say shift that money away from the police department and give more equipment to the animal control officers where it rightly belongs and would do more good.

  • dd121

Peaceful protest = peaceful arrest. Shoot at the cops and they shoot back. And they’ve been trained.

  • skedaddle1

Moral Monday, Turpitude Tuesday, Wastrel Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday, Freaky Friday and then all heck breaks loose on the weekend.

  • Bon, From the Land of Babble

    The professional protesters have arrived!

The new arrivals included Vietnam-era peace activists, New York City seminarians, many college students and hundreds of fast-food workers bused in from Chicago, Nashville and other cities.

Don’t wonder WHO bused and flew them in: at the bottom of the professionally-created “protest signs” it says: revcom (dot) us, an organization which describes itself as “The Voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party USA”

You can be sure the organizers and leaders of this Communist group are NOT black, but use blacks as a modern-day Red Guard.

    • none of your business

Also active in bussing protestors is the community relations unit of the DOJ. They were the group who orchestrated the entire Trayvon Martin mess. Emboldened by success they are on standby to cause trouble whenever a black criminal is rightfully killed by a White in self defense as Zimmerman, Wilson and the latest police officer did.
I wonder how the lifelong welfare slugs will get along with the fast food workers.

    • Christorchaos

and hundreds of fast-food workers bused in from Chicago, Nashville and other cities

Thats the SEIU which has done a lousy job actually negotiating for anything for their members but focuses chiefly on Alinskyite/ACORN-style agitation. Mike Brown is front and center of their website: SEIU org … youll see.

    • Those people are attracted to trouble like pederasts to playgrounds.

    “Moral Monday”

That’s interesting. I’ve noticed the last few years a growing tendency on the far left to portray blacks as being not only oppressed, but morally superior to whites. I was browsing a well known, notoriously liberal message board just this morning and came across a discussion of wealth. The conversation turned towards inequality and why there were so few black millionaires compared to white. Of course there was the usual poverty, privilege, blah blah blah stuff, but there was one guy who suggested that blacks, having been victims of “theft” in the past themselves, were unwilling to steal from others and thus at a disadvantage in a capitalist society.

We’ve all seen plenty of left wing nuttery, but this one really threw me for a loop.

Another example, I distinctly remember an article on The Root, that black website, a few years back about Libya. The author of the article was arguing that blacks had a special responsibility to influence American foreign policy because they are “the conscience of the nation.”

Is this really how these people see themselves? Are they that demented?

    • Whitetrashgang

When you have a IQ of 70 ,anything is possible in your head.

    • Yes, believing that you are a perpetual victim gives these fools the idea that they have moral superiority to the white devils responsible for all their problems.

    • MBlanc46

Blacks unwilling to steal? That’s rich.

    • OS-Q

Actually, lionization of blacks has been going on for a long time. Watch some old Twilight Zones – black people in them are usually not only victims, but saints. Or read “To Kill a Mockingbird” where the black man is accused of rape because a white woman was caught flirting with him by her evil father.

To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if Officer Wilson did loose it and kill Mike Brown out of adrenaline-fueled rage, but the left “gilded the lily” on the story and discredited itself (again) by trying to sanitize Brown and make a hero out of a victim. Most Americans wonder that since they cried wolf on Trayvon and Myers The Sandwich King of St. Louis, why believe them now? Why should we sympathize when they cheer over the concept of white people dying off, or think rushing cops is a civil right?

      • none of your business

Ever seen those 1950’s and 60’s Sidney Poitier movies? He was the original magical negro. Nowdays Morgan Freeman is only a saint but in his heyday
Sidney was the second coming of Jesus. I don’t mean to offend Christians, but that was what the movie industry built Sidney up to be. A lot of you guys detest the black man White woman thing. The liberals wrote a script for him in which a blind White girl who of course can’t see his color falls in love with his outstanding virtues and Godliness. She is an exploited home worker and the Sidney/God character also saves her from her evil White employers.
I watch TCM not so much because I like old movies but because the other channels are 40 percent ads. A few months ago TCM had several days of
His holiness Sidney worship; nothing but days of non stop Sidney.
At least the industry had the decency to dump His Holiness after their civil rights agenda was achieved and he was no longer needed.

        • HE2

none, I am addicted to TCM too.

As you, when Mr. Osborne lays on films that not only sanitize negroes but canonizes them, I run.
You are referring to “A Patch of Blue.” I used to love that film. No more.

The actress who played the blind girl, Elizabeth Hartman, committed suicide at 43 by jumping out of a window.

        • OS-Q

In real life, both women and the blind often have sensitive enough smell that they would know the difference.

What I love about old movies, is that when they try propaganda they can’t do it very subtlety.

  • Adolf Verloc

As a lifelong atheist, I have zero respect or liking for sky pilots. I’d have been inclined to let Billy the Wood answer any call to repent.

  • MBlanc46

“Protesters were met by about 40 officers in riot gear.”

I am not a big fan of police in riot gear. That’s not how a civilized people govern themselves. I fear that those police would be used against me if I were to physically protest the criminal way that my country is run. That said, police in riot gear appears to be the only way that the Afro-American population can be controlled.

Slowly but surly we are becoming less and less a country of civilized people, and as sure as our demography shows that, so will our manner of governing. For some reason the word “decay” comes to mind.

    • freethought1950

Dogs and firehoses have worked well in the past.

    • jayvbellis

If criminals are rioting, police should be in riot gear.

      Rioters = riot gear

They are copying those northern cities clergy who led the 1960’s marches in the south. Then the blacks invaded the cities and the clergy had to sell their churches and temples to the likes of Wright. Karma.

    – Alan Scher Zagier and Jim Salter, AP, October 14, 2014

What about the number of people killed by blacks nationwide? That would take many times as much time to read.

  • Christorchaos

All I want to know is, what day was this photo taken on? Moral Monday or Tolerance Tuesday?

    • Sloppo

      Those sandwiches look yummy.

  • A Freespeechzone

These people and ‘religious leaders’ demand retribution and mob rule over due process and facts.

Furthermore, if the facts vindicate Darren Wilson, they threaten mass demonstrations, violence, looting and arson.

Should this breakdown of law and order occur, LE, as shown, will not protect you, your family or business—it will be your responsibility.

There will be many, many dead looters and violent protesters if they move outside their neighborhoods.

  • John

Take heart. Eventually “Immoral Monday” will eventually lead to TGIFCF (“thank God it’s fried chicken Friday”).

  • Mybad

Everyone must watch the youtube video named, “Black hostility toward police in Ferguson.” You won’t believe your eyes and ears…this video was shot by one of the protesters…we were told by the MSM that these marches were “peaceful.” They’re NOT PEACEFUL!!! The only way one could describe them that way would be because the police didn’t make any arrests after being shouted down, called names, called BITCHES, threatened by the black thugs to their faces. I would not be able to control my seething anger the way these men did!! Unbelievable.

  • jayvbellis

“My faith compels me to be here,” Bishop Wayne Smith of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri said outside Ferguson police headquarters. “I want to show solidarity, and call attention to the structural racism of St. Louis.”

    Jay replies:

I used to attend Anglican/Episcopal churches until I just couldn’t stand the horrible anti Christian Lib politics. I am praying this morning to a traditional Christian Father God to punish this idiot Leftist bishop Wayne Smith, have Black criminals he is trying to bond with come and rob him in his false church, have them tie him up and the police will not come help him because they know what he did.

    • “My faith compels me to be here,”
      –Wayne Smith

“My faith compels me to commit incitement to riot.”

      Fixed it for ya, Wayne.

    • Puggg

Structural racism means white cops defending their lives from less than well intentioned black people.

This is why I don’t agree with all the barbs I read even here from time to time about “why don’t you just go be a cop in a better area.” I have a better saying: “There but for the grace of God go I.” White LEOs, white people in general, are just one slight turn of fate being in the same shoes as George Zimmerman, Darren Wilson and the new one whose name and identity I know but I won’t say because loose lips sink ships.

Besides, to all those people who say, “why don’t you just go be a cop in a better area.” Go to the black areas and tell them, “why don’t you just not threaten white cops.” They won’t do that, because they’re afraid.

    • Douglas Quaid

I don’t know any real Christians who talk about “My faith…” that’s pomo garbage that only the leftist dingbats posing as Christians say.

  • jayvbellis

Police up until the 1970s used to keep a “Red File” of known Communists, subversives. We need to resume this.

What happens to these types in Putin’s new/old Russia restored. Cossacks whip the subversives with Cossack whips.

  • “…They stayed for almost four hours – despite torrential rain an tornado watches…”
    –Original article

If Ferguson is really lucky, some of these “protesters” will soon be making express trips to see the Wizard of Oz. A tornado certainly wouldn’t harm whatever remains of the real-estate values there.

    • Puggg

The rain wasn’t really torrential that day, and while there was a tornado watch for awhile, the most serious threat for a tornado, and one very weak one actually touched down in farming areas, was well east of St. Louis. The way that is written, it makes it sound these people stood out in the elements during the strongest part of a category five hurricane, it was no such thing.

  • jayvbellis

Amren does have many responsible , positive gay readers. Sexuality is a private matter and White gays who keep their sexuality private and do on balance, positive pro White, race realist lives- these are good people and they are our people. I ‘m still looking for America’s Pym Fortyn who will stand up for our people and our culture against invading Muslims.

That said, this idiot, pro Black criminal Episcopal Bishop in Missouri is also a pushy proponent of homosexual marriage equality, the whole in our face gay agenda. I’m sorry, but I do not want Christian clergy to be non celebrate homosexuals that push extreme Leftist politics, incite black criminals to riot and loot, enable mass illegal immigration, defend Paki Muslim rapists of poor English girls.

This flaming queer Episcopal Bishop in Missouri is a glad out a Communists, subversive and enemy of our people. Traditional Anglicans need to run this filthy pervert, Atheist, Communist out of town.

  • Douglas Quaid

Not knowing anything about him, my money says that the Missouri “Bishop” is the type of clown that would love to do gay mirage ceremonies. Those are the type that show up for these idiotic black “protests”.
