The First Openly Gay Black Male Judge?

Albert Lin, DiversityInc, February 14, 2014

President Obama nominated five people for federal judgeships on Wednesday as the White House touted the President’s “unprecedented commitment expanding the diversity of our nation’s highest courts.”

Of the five, only one, Paul Byron, is a white male. The others are two women (Beth Bloom and Cheryl Ann Krause), a Latino (Carlos Eduardo Mendoza) and a Black man (Darrin Gayles). If confirmed, Gayles would become the nation’s first openly gay Black man to serve as a federal judge. (Obama withdrew the nomination of another candidate for that distinction, William Thomas, when Thomas was blocked by Florida Senator Marco Rubio.)

Darrin Gayles

Byron, Bloom, Krause and Gayles were all nominated for positions in Florida, seemingly addressing complaints by the Congressional Black Caucus about the lack of diversity among judges, especially in Southern states. However, The Hill reported that Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett was greeted with criticism when she met with members of the CBC on Wednesday to discuss its concerns that Obama has not been vocal enough when Congress has stonewalled his nominees, leaving states with judges who don’t represent the diversity of their populations.

Georgia Congressman David Scott brought up two nominees to Jarrett: one who once supported a bill to keep the Confederate battle emblem as part of Georgia’s state flag and another who led the defense of the state’s voter-ID law.

“I asked her specifically that they should be [withdrawn]. She just didn’t say anything,” said Scott. “The President should have said, ‘There’s absolutely no way I want to go down in history as putting these kinds of people into federal court nominations against my own African-American [people].’ … It’s a tragedy.”

Meanwhile, put up a comprehensive infographic headlined “This Is the First Time Our Judicial Pool Has Been This Diverse.” It points out that of the 63 judicial nominees currently awaiting confirmation, 27 are women, 12 are Black, five are Latino, four are Asian, three are openly LGBT and one is American Indian.

The graphic also highlights Obama’s record with judicial nominees in each of the demographic groups:

• Under Obama, six circuit courts and 12 district courts now have their first female judge.

• Obama has appointed 17 Black women to federal courts, more than any other President.

• Obama already has had 27 Latino judges confirmed, more than President Clinton’s two-term total (25).

• Obama has raised the number of Asian federal judges from eight to 21.

• Obama has nominated 12 openly LGBT judges and had seven confirmed, when only one (Deborah Batts of New York) had been confirmed before he took office.

• If confirmed, nominee Diane Humetewa would be the first female American Indian federal judge and the only active American Indian federal judge.

Not good enough. What the USA needs are judges who are disabled transgenders imported from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or the Taliban areas of Pakistan.

We need a paraplegic atheist black latina whose first language is Urdu.

The Black “reporter” on CNN, when announcing this joy of joys to the world, called her opinion “eloquently written”.

Serious scholarship and jurisprudence be damned. What’s important is the shape and color of the nominees’ genitalia and where he/she likes to put them on his/her off time.

  • CharlesFinley

    Lower-case “w” for white male…

    Capital “B” for Black male…

And let’s all talk about Michael Dunn and the “killlling of jordan davis”.

    Geezus phuckeeng KRAIST!!!

  • BonV.Vant

He will be presiding over all of the fashion crimes.

  • Homo_Occidentalis

In the very near future the Diversity Tribunals will make it near impossible for clean-cut hetero white males to find any kind of job, even in the private sector. Creating your own job by starting a small business will be harder too, because the federal government will mandate that loans be reserved for “disadvantaged minority groups”.
Any whites that don’t have access to capital through family connections will be out of luck, and even those who inherit such capital will see it taxed away and given to non-whites.
Pretty soon, the government will literally only be hiring non-whites and women, and they will mandate that private corporations do the same lest they face legal sanctions.
By the time whites are a minority, it will be illegal to hire a white for any position so long as there is a single unemployed non-white in that state.

  • sbuffalonative

More black criminals will be left to go free victimizing primarily other blacks. Blacks are too ignorant to understand this.

    • bilderbuster

I’m concerned about their White victims only.

      • sbuffalonative

I understand what you’re saying and I agree.

Blacks (and their white apologists) think in simple, linear terms. ‘Integrated schools will make blacks academically equal to whites’. ‘Integrated neighborhoods will encourage whites and blacks to get to know each other and eventually get along’. Their solutions are always overly simplistic and ignore other factors.

Blacks (and their white apologists) believe that blacks are criminals because we treat them as criminals. Therefore, if we stop treating them as criminals they won’t act like criminals.

You and I know this is absurd but it’s how they think.

While I know it’s largely useless arguing with these people, we have to keep pointing out the truth and the facts. ‘If you don’t jail black criminals, black criminals will only continue to victimize people and their victims will mostly be other blacks’.

Blacks (and their white apologists) need to be made aware of this.

In the process, there will be fewer white victims as well.

Sure have been a lot of gay black men in the news recently, huh?

    • Just so everyone knows, there won’t be that “gay black man” troll here. He or she turned out to be someone who used multiple screen names to write comments here. Sometimes, he or she would write insulting cuss word filled comments with one of his or her identities in response to a prior post with another one of his or her identities. Some of this person’s screen names included not only “Gay Black Man,” but “Racially Conscious White Person,” “Racially Conscious White Lady,” “Longtime Amren Reader,” and many others. Whoever this person was, he or she was at least apparently using an ISP that traced to Bluefield, West Virginia or thereabouts.

      • ncpride

Not sure how to respond to that, but I was simply making an observation. You may trace my ISP anytime you like. I assure you, none of those other identities belong to me.

        • The reason I bought it up has to do with the fact that some of our regulars solicit the opinion of our resident gay black man when these kinds of stories come up. However, our resident gay black man wasn’t who he seemed to be.

          • So CAL Snowman

            They never are. . .

          • One more thing on that subject, and this as good a time as any to bring it up.

Yes, we’ve had a lot of fun with the sudden spate of trolls lampooning the other side, such as “Marc Zuckurburg” and others. But we really shouldn’t make it an every day thing. Otherwise, we will have to drop the hammer.

There’s an obvious anti-white, anti-male, anti-Christian bias to everything Obama does. Appointing judges on the basis of their politics and sexual orientation will result in chaos in the legal system for the next 30 years. I’m waiting for the next shoe to drop, which is pedophile rights. Expect an openly pedophile judge sometime in the future because the Cultural Marxists aren’t done with us yet. The mission to destroy decency is still in the fifth inning. Four more innings of destruction to go unless we stop it.

    • Homo_Occidentalis

There are far too many naive moderates who think the left will be content now that they have achieved full “rights” for homosexuals. They just don’t realize how many stops we have left on the train to full cultural Marxism: gay adoption, incest, polygamy, pedophilia, state recognition of “marriages” between a person and an inanimate object, bestiality, matriarchal feminist government, necrophilia, universal forced male castration, “voluntary” human extinction, etc. The Frankfurt school won’t stop until it has utterly destroyed the West.

          • Pelagian

Thanks for acquainting me with Slutwalks. They are bwa-ha-ha-ha funny.

“The protest takes the form of a march, mainly by young women, where some dress as “sluts” in revealing attire. In the various Slutwalks around the world, it is usual to find speaker meetings and workshops, live music, sign-making sessions, leafleting, open microphones, chanting, dances, martial arts, and receptions or after-parties with refreshments. In many of the rallies and online, women speak publicly for the first time about their alleged rapes.”

“To a lesser extent, it has been compared to activist groups like FEMEN, the Ukrainian women’s group,[33] and Boobquake,[34] an atheistic and feminist response to Iran’s Hojatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi … Both integrate nudity and protest.”

Earlier this year two psychologists in Canada declared that ped0hpilia
is a sexual orientation just like homosessuality or heterosessuality.

Van Gijseghem, psychologist and retired professor of the University of
Montreal, told members of Parliament, “ped0hpiles are not simply people
who commit a small offense from time to time but rather are grappling
with what is equivalent to a sessual orientation just like another
individual may be grappling with heterosessuality or even

He went on to say, “True ped0hpiles have an exclusive preference for
children, which is the same as having a sessual orientation. You cannot
change this person’s sessual orientation. He may, however, remain

When asked if he should be comparing ped0hpiles to homosessuals, Van
Gijseghem replied, “If, for instance, you were living in a society where
heterosessuality is proscribed or prohibited and you were told that you
had to get therapy to change your sessual orientation, you would
probably say that that is slightly crazy. In other words, you would not
accept that at all. I use this analogy to say that, yes indeed,
ped0hpiles do not change their sessual orientation.”

Dr. Quinsey, professor emeritus of psychology at Queen’s University in
Kingston, Ontario, agreed with Van Gijseghem. Quinsey said ped0hpiles’
sessual interests prefer children and, “There is no evidence that this
sort of preference can be changed through treatment or through anything

In July, 2010 Harvard health Publications said, “ped0hpilia is a sessual
orientation and unlikely to change. Treatment aims to enable someone to
resist acting on his sessual urges.”

      • Anna Tree

In 1973 the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosessuality
from its list of mental disorders. A group of psychiatrists with
B4U-Act recently held a symposium proposing a new definition of
ped0hpilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health
        Disorders of the APA.

        B4U-Act calls ped0hpiles “minor-attracted people.” The organization’s
website states its purpose is to, “help mental health professionals
learn more about attraction to minors and to consider the effects of
        stereotyping, stigma and fear.”

In 1998 The APA issued a report claiming “that the ‘negative potential’
of adult sess with children was ‘overstated’ and that ‘the vast majority
of both men and women reported no negative sexual effects from
        childhood sexual abuse experiences.”

ped0hpilia has already been granted protected status by the Federal
Government. The Matthew Shephard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes
        Prevention Act lists “sessual orientation” as a protected class;
however, it does not define the term.

Republicans attempted to add an amendment specifying that “ped0hpilia is
not covered as an orientation;” however, the amendment was defeated by
Democrats. Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fl) stated that all alternative
sessual lifestyles should be protected under the law. “This bill
addresses our resolve to end violence based on prejudice and to
guarantee that all Americans, regardless of race, color, religion,
national origin, gender, sessual orientation, gender identity, or
disability or all of these ‘philias’ and fetishes and ‘isms’ that were
put forward need not live in fear because of who they are. I urge my
colleagues to vote in favor of this rule.”

The White House praised the bill saying, “At root, this isn’t just about
our laws; this is about who we are as a people. This is about whether
we value one another – whether we embrace our differences rather than
allowing them to become a source of animus.”

        • wildfirexx

Interesting…, however, the laws protecting our children from predators have become very powerful… which will always trump any rights pedophiles may be given in the future.
Personally, I don’t think it’s any one’s business what another person thinks, …or does in the privacy of their own home as long as they’re not harming or threatening anyone else, and that they don’t try and wave their new sexual freedoms in our faces .

          • Anna Tree

I hope you are right… I am not sure the laws are protecting our children. See how the media and the politicians are scandalized by Russia for voting a law to forbid giving homosexual propaganda to children, and claim the law is discriminatory and it’s like genociding homosexuals! (of course never a beep about islam/muslim countries, where they really kill homosexuals).

Also it is not only about the pedophil danger. Children have rights. One of them is to have a mommy and a daddy. Sadly accidents happen but the problem is when it is done intentionally: in the adoption by single parent or same sex parents. But the rights of the underdogs are higher than those of children:

Read about Alana Newman, who is not in any way against homosexuals. She is the daughter of a sperm-donor-conception arrangement. She has become an activist working to fight against third-party reproduction arrangements (sperm banking and surrogacy) because she — along with thousands of other donor-conceived people documented in a massive 2010 study — believes quite lucidly that it violates children’s rights to treat them like commodities and sever their bonds to their father and mother.

“One of the worst parts of abuse is society’s refusal to see the
injustice. Emotional abuse is particularly difficult because it is
invisible and therefore ripe for denial.

It is worse still to feel “abandoned” by a community that views the
cruelty inside a child’s home and does nothing. When told by everyone in the vicinity that what’s happening is normal and no cause to be aggrieved (even worse, a reason to be grateful), the natural instinct of the child is to blame herself for revealing the effects of mistreatment, in addition to the primal trauma of the mistreatment itself. The situation is much worse if outsiders who intervene, such as doctors, school officials, cousins, or legal authorities, side with the guardians.

After having spent the last year involved in the debate about same-sex parenting, I can say the following with great confidence: both sides of the same-sex marriage debate are afraid of naming child abuse by same-sex couples. The issue is so raw and painful that even critics of same-sex parenting are scared to go there.

I am not saying that same-sex parents are automatically guilty of any kind of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse to the children they raise. Nor am I saying that LGBT people are less likely to take good care of children.

What I mean is this: Even the most heroic mother in the world can’t father. So to intentionally deprive any child of her mother or father, except in cases like divorce for grave reasons or the death of a parent, is itself a form of abuse.

            Check thepublicdiscourse(dot)com/2013/07/10474/

“The movement for same-sex marriage is the movement for same-sex parenting, and the movement for same-sex parenting is a merciless push to turn children into property designed for adult consumer demands. Why else would people call someone anti-gay merely for saying we shouldn’t treat children like property or deny them their father or mother? You can’t keep ligbitist activists happy unless you go all the way and say, “fine, I’m totally okay with you buying and selling children and bringing chattel slavery back to the United States; I’ll call it by some euphemism like ‘new families’ and sing your praises forever!”

Please read “Love Isn’t Enough: 5 Reasons Why Same-Sex
Marriage Harms Children” by Trayce Hansen:

“Certainly hom0sessual couples can be just as loving as heterosexual couples, but children require more than love. They need the distinctive qualities and the complementary natures of a
male and female parent. Although we empathize with those homosexuals who long to be married and parent children, we mustn’t allow our compassion for them to trump our compassion for children. In a contest between the desires of some homosexuals and the needs of all children, we can’t allow the children to lose”

          • wildfirexx

I am totally against same sex marriages. The politicians and the courts have unethically changed the definition of marriage to accommodate whomever it pleases. If the Gay community wishes to have some sort of official bonding between two members of the same sex, they should have invented a new term. But instead, they demand that the definition of marriage between a man and a women be changed… to accommodate their feelings so they can pretend their relationship is the new normal.
As far as adopting children, I agree with you, that only hetro couples should be allowed to adopt children for the welfare of the child. This will only confuse normality in a child’s eyes, and probably embarrass him, in front of his peers in the future .

          • Anna Tree

Indeed, I used “parriage”, “parried” etc and wasn’t surprised that others used those words too: It has everything to work, the sound, the meaning, the etymology, but of course, homosexuals and their “useful idiots”, don’t want a new word, even if the word is logic and so close to the word marriage, they want to have what heterosexuals have (even if it destroys it). And there is it seems even a darker side of the issue, the destruction of the family values, the white family and the white man, that triggers the destruction of the Western society, i.e. the white civilization, as we know it.

          • LovelyNordicHeidi

AT: “And there is it seems even a darker side of the issue, the destruction of the family values, the white family and the white man, that triggers the destruction of the Western society, i.e. the white civilization, as we know it.”

That is what leftists fail to understand. I have tried to explain to them a million times the logical connection between promotion of sexual deviance and the destruction of the traditional family. It makes no sense to them, because they are unwilling to think of such a logical connection.

The lack of willingness to THINK is their greatest problem. They are mindless robots who do not want to THINK about the orthodoxy of their egalitarian faith in sexual and racial equality. As they are unwilling to think, they are certainly unwilling to QUESTION. This unwillingness to think has been reinforced by the concept of political correctness, like the medieval concept of heresy. Whoever does not agree with the egalitarians is perceived as a HERETIC who needs to be silenced by unredeemable labels such as nazi, sexist and racist.

The danger of the egalitarian faith is that people believe that as everyone can be the carrier of civilisation, there is no need for the preservation of the Western civilisation. This is also reinforced with their instant gratification attitude that stems from the hedonism that has been promoted from the hippie era.

Egalitarians fail to perceive the Western civilisation as unique, because they think that everyone is capable of producing it. They do also not know much about the Western civilisation, because they are not interested in something that is not supposed to be unique. They are mostly interested in racial relations that cause them to fall into the trap of believing that ALL of the problems of non-Whites are caused by Whites, and this belief is reinforced by the claims of non-Whites that they are being oppressed.

When I say these things, I am always wondering how we can convince those egalitarians to embrace realism. I try to analyse what they think to understand them thoroughly so that I can learn how to convince them. Did you notice any particular noteworthy beliefs or behaviours that inhibit them from agreeing with our points?

    • Obama has appointed 17 Black women to federal courts, more than any other President.

    • Obama already has had 27 Latino judges confirmed, more than President Clinton’s two-term total (25).

    • Obama has raised the number of Asian federal judges from eight to 21.

    • Obama has nominated 12 openly LGBT judges and had seven confirmed,
when only one (Deborah Batts of New York) had been confirmed before he
    took office.

    • If confirmed, nominee Diane Humetewa would be the first female
American Indian federal judge and the only active American Indian
    federal judge.”

This is great news ! The more of these vermin get in high position, the faster the US crumbles !

    • IstvanIN

That is putting a positive spin on it.

    • Lagerstrom

      March on USA!

  • Speedy Steve

He’s probably not really gay. Some black males talk like sissies in order to creep into the houses of silly White women, and to seem less threatening. And be real careful around the ones that smile a lot.

    • IstvanIN

You mean they tell a white woman “I bees gay and sheet and I wonts hurt you” to build trust and then rape them? Seems like stretch there. I don’t think they’re that smart.

      • bilderbuster

Some of the White womens bee dat dumb.

  • Why does he have to announce his predilections?
When will straight nominees state their fetish for bukkake, or donkey-punch?

    Black, gay . . . pandering freak-show.

  • CharlesFinley

Here come da judge, he like da fudge…

    The (dis)honorable Darrin GAYles

    • BonV.Vant

Here come da judge, packing da fudge

    • BonV.Vant

aint no judge blacker than judge fudge packer

    • StillModerated

Seriously! Why is this even news? And would the gutter press be all hot and bothered about a White homosexual afuhleet?

      • bilderbuster

The White Gurlz of Women’s Tennis had this big, bad Black NFL sissy beat a generation ago with real men like Billy Jean King, Martina Navratilova & the amazing Mr. Renee Richards who wanted to play so bad he went under the knife.

  • IstvanIN

This points out a major problem with AA, even if this man is qualified, fair minded and a supporter of the constitution, his appointment will be suspect because of 30 plus years of giving people jobs because they fit a certain demographic.

  • Magician

This guy is basically every liberal feminist’s dream

    gay, African American

  • JohnEngelman

I wonder how many affirmative action programs this guy has benefited from.

Whenever I see a beneficiary of affirmative action I think of the white or Asian male who deserves to be there.

    • Magician

He will start getting some major attention from the liberal mainstream media and receive heavy praises

    • bilderbuster

I don’t lose any sleep over the Asian.
But I have no problem with Asians being upset with Blacks in their own right.
The one thing Blacks are successful at is upsetting everyone they ever dwell among.
A trait another of your favorite peoples shares with them.

When I moved to downtown San Jose, California in January 1978 the area was so blighted it looked almost like a bombed out German city after World War II.

Vietnamese war refugees moved in and built up the city. They took any jobs they could find, saved their money, and built Vietnamese restaurants and stores. On week day afternoons and Saturday’s the public libraries were full of Vietnamese teenagers doing their homework.

I often got off work at 10:00 pm, and walked three miles home. I was perfectly safe. Currently San Jose has one of the lowest crime rates of any large American cities.

        • guest

Then and now, San Jose has one of the lowest crime rates because it is (and was) more like a large swath of suburbia than like a large city. I wouldn’t quibble that a Vietnamese immigrant figures to become a better citizen than a Central American or African, but your comment suggested that San Jose’s relative safety is a result of Vietnamese influx, and that is misinformation.

      • Sloppo

“I don’t lose any sleep over the Asian.”

I agree. I admire them for their good qualities, but if things get ugly for them here, they have homelands where they can go to live among their own people. Gentile whites are quickly losing all options of that kind.

I wonder why DiversityInc didn’t feel compelled to bring up the minority status of Beth Bloom?
They should be happy that at least one tiny minority group is extremely well represented in “our” judicial system & celebrating the successful over representation of Jewish judges instead of ignoring their impact.

    • IstvanIN

They’re “white” when convenient and Jewish when convenient.

      • bilderbuster

They (And neither should we.) don’t consider themselves to be White & almost exclusively side against Whites. Only on the rare occasion when it is in their interests will they side with us.

        • IstvanIN

They are considered “White” when tallying up numbers to prove that White’s are not be discriminated against. I am sure the Fed, for instance, has a “white”, female, head. Obumer was criticized for having too many “whites” in his inner circle, yet most of those “whites” were Jewish.

          • bilderbuster

And they’re notorious for anglicising their names to slip under the Jdar, ala in government & showbiz.

        • Pelagian

I don’t think they hate whites.

          • wildfirexx

The European Jews are white. But they were pretty much in the forefront of promoting affirmative action and multiculturalism and were involved in the development of the birth control pill, which all are having a negative impact on our survival as a distinct people.

  • Magician

The first gay judge ever was a white guy named David Young, but he is not dating Darrin Gayles

  • wildfirexx

Putting aside the number of women judges up for consideration, 2/3rds of the nominees for the federal court still appear to be white. None the less, the liberal appointed judges will be more lenient on black crimes committed against whites.

  • BonV.Vant

That is where the ISP is. Perhaps he is a college student at Athens WV. I’ve been there, they have a good portion of inner-city blacks from places such as Los Angeles, Baltimore, Atlanta and NYC there. I bet you anything that gay black male is someone at Concord College in Athens WV.

Visconti, one of the great Northern Italian families. See what happens to American Whites?
A few generations and we turn into groveling whipped dogs.

  • Truth Teller

Supreme Court Justice Brennan wrote the majority opinion in one of the affirmative action cases. He wrote “disproportionate representation is in and of itself clear and present evidence of discrimination.” He was a hetereo Catholic. Of all the affirmative action judges, he was the most detrimental to White employment and college admission. That one sentence was used to exterminate Whites, especially men and non communist women from government employment and contracting.

  • Truth Teller

John Engleman just wrote that in “January 1978 downtown San Jose was so blighted that it was more like a bombed out German city after WW2.”
Another complete and total lie by Engleman. I have never lived in SAnta Clara county or the city of San Jose, but my husband and I were there a lot in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.
Believe it or not, Cupertino was all White in those days. I never saw a black, Asian or Hispanic person anywhere in San Jose during dozens of visits a year. Because it had virtually no blacks and few Hispanics in 1978 it had a low crime rate. There was no black neighborhood. I believe that most of the blacks were students at San Jose State.
Downtown and indeed all of San Jose was lovely in those days and still is. We took the grandchildren to the Christmas Fair this year.
Except for 5 years in Europe I have lived all my life in California, first in the Bay Area and now in Los Angeles. But I spend about 4 months of the year in the Bay Area. My son lives in Santa Clara county.
Why do you keep posting such lies Engleman? Don’t you realize there are regular readers who are your age and live in the same areas of California where you claim to live?
San Jose was always low crime, attractive and safe whether it was all White in 1960 or 1/3 Asian as it is now.

  • Truth Teller

Who cares if they are White, black, Asian, Hispanic or Papua New Guinean. Who cares what their sex life is like. No matter who they are, the majority of Judges appointed since 1940 have been anti White.
