Explosive Device, Gasoline Found in Burned Student’s Apartment

Alexis Stevens, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, February 4, 2014

A suspected Molotov cocktail and several plastic bottles filled with gasoline and kerosene were found in the Midtown apartment of a Georgia Tech graduate student severely burned, police said Wednesday.

Saamer Akhshabi remains in Grady Memorial Hospital with third-degree burns over 90 percent of his body from the fire started in his apartment Tuesday afternoon in the 200 block of 10th Street, police said.

Late Tuesday night, it wasn’t known what caused the fire. But an FBI spokesman said the man’s burns were possibly from an incendiary device.

{snip}

In addition to what police described as a Molotov cocktail—a container filled with flammable material, and often topped with a make-shift fuse—police said several gasoline- or kerosene-filled bottles were found in the apartment.

Police reported the incident to U.S. Homeland Security, and a police SWAT team, and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI were called in.

Akhshabi is studying in the College of Computing at Tech, where he has attended since 2009, according to his web page. He was scheduled to graduate in May, Nagel said Wednesday. Prior to moving to Atlanta, Akhshabi completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Tehran in Iran.

We, white people are just too stupid to not be selected for extinction. Whatever else you may think, this is/ was all voluntary.

    • BonV.Vant

this guy is even more stupid. Sounds like he was smoking while making molotov cocktails.

      • It is entirely possible that the pilot light from either the gas furnace or water heater ignited the fumes. I do plenty of painting in my basement workshop, but I always clean oil-based paint off my brushes in the garage. No open flames there.

  • bubo

I guess Allah has a sense of humor.

  • Nicholas

Saamer Akhshabi. If you see a name like this on your list of college classmates, I suggest you switch classes.

    • bubo

Those names are usually in STEM courses. Now if your classmates have names like Shaquille and Ja’nae you should immediately switch.

Still, I’m sure Iran or another Islamic society has a university he could attend and not have to worry about blowing up his infidel classmates.

    • D.B. Cooper

Especially if that is the name of the professor.

    • AndrewInterrupted

What about a classmate named: L’Genius Wisdom?

      Sorry–still cracking up…..<;-)

  • Jesse James

Somebody should have told him what happens when you play with fire.

  • NoMosqueHere

I guess the white doctors will patch him up well enough so he’ll finish his degree at GT, go home to Iran, and start working on Iran’s nuclear bomb program. Sounds like a plan, whitey.

    • So CAL Snowman

Who cares about Iran? While they are trying to build their very first bomb we have orbital space based weaponry that can launch tungsten rods at targets anywhere in the world. Western technology (suppressed from the masses of course) is so much more advanced than the rest of the world it is ridiculous. The non-Whites pose absolutely no military threat to us because of our advanced technology. If the USA wanted, it could wipe China off the map by tomorrow. The only reason non-Whites are a threat is because obviously our “government” places them in our homelands.

      • DaveMed

        ?

Isn’t that a concept from the G.I. Joe movies?

    • Greg Thomas

This terrorist isn’t going “home” any time soon. Haven’t you heard, this country needs more “educated” third worlders to “boost our economy”
and” fill the gap in the science and technology field.”

Besides, he can build his bombs right here with little to no interference.

      • NeanderthalDNA

Ask Mr. Zuckerburg. He’s got a job for this guy.

        • Pro_Whitey

Not if the guy is going to be so explosive. Cleaning up explosions and the body parts of other foreign programming code fodder can get expensive!

    • Lewis33

I guess the constant lies our politicians feed us still hasn’t gotten threw to people who still believe Iran wants a bomb. Total Hokum. They would like nuclear energy though, so they don’t have to burn up all their oil just to keep the lights on.

      • OK, Mr. Atomic Scientist; why are they enriching to 20%? You don’t need that to run a reactor.

        • Brian

I’m not commenting on what Iran is up to, but some medical applications require 20% enrichment. Don’t bombs take more like 90%?

      • NoMosqueHere

It’s just the opposite, dum dum. The muslim in the WH and his sycophants in the liberal media and congress always broadcast the BIG lie that Iran’s nuclear ambitions are illusory. Iran is a hostile muslim hate state that seeks hegemony over the persian gulf and the entire middle east. That’s why if Iran gets nukes a nuke arms race will proceed unabated among the muslims nations. We’ve seen numerous times how they massacre each other. If nukes are in the equation, expect unspeakable horrors.

  • bigone4u

With 90 percent burns it is doubtful he will live. If he does, to show his gratitude to the American doctors who saved him, he’ll probably shoot them and get cut down himself by the cops. The thought of those 78 virgins is just too tempting to these camel herders.

    • IstvanIN

Does the Koran specify the sex of the virgins? Wouldn’t it be a hoot if they weren’t what he was expecting?

      • Who Me?

I don’t think the SPECIES of the virgins was ever specified, either. What if it’s 72 virgin gerbils, or the AGE, how about 72 parochial school nuns…?

        • AndrewInterrupted

Interesting angle. You’re right, they could be gerbils.

It’s hard to think of everything when you’re writing a crowd control document while high on peyote buttons.

      • The Koran specifies neither the sex nor the species of the virgins.

      • Brian

I hope it’s a mistranslation and he gets met by 72 Virginians.

        • IstvanIN

          Locked and loaded!

    • Bob Wallace

I don’t how he can live with burns that bad over that much of his body. If somehow he does he will be horribly scared…not that it matters after he gets life in prison.

  • D.B. Cooper

I had a feeling, so I typed in University of Tehran, and I get pictures like this.
So, this is what you’re letting in, Georgia Tech? How long before your classroom looks like this on?

    • Nicholas

That has got to be the ugliest group of college aged women I have ever seen.

  • Luca

Apparently we weren’t teaching him how to hack the Pentagon’s IT system fast enough in his computer classes, so he took up a home study course in chemistry in preparation for next year’s marathon. Guess that plan sort of back-fired.

  • This isn’t the first of such odd events in which muslims were caught doing something dangerous inside the U.S. Over the past year, muslims have been caught twice inside of water treatment plants in the middle of the night!? Also, last April in California, a group of armed men shot out strategic equipment inside of a sub-station power grid located near San Jose.

Thanks to Dear Leader and his incompetent administration, muslims are planning wonderful things for the infidels in the days ahead. Isn’t ‘diversity’ just grand?

    • Sloppo

Barry only seems incompetent if you carry the assumption that he’s not trying to destroy this country.

      • I actually wrote “his incompetent administration.” They’re the incompetent and useful idiots trying to carry out his willfully destructive plans for America.

        • Sloppo

I happen to believe that his administration is in on the plan, but your viewpoint may be closer to the truth.

      • Homo_Occidentalis

Some quotes from the great usurper:

I’m a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes
generations of Muslims. As a boy, I spent several years in Indonesia
and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and at the fall of
        dusk.

        -Barack Obama

The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans. Many other
Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a
Muslim-majority country — I know, because I am one of them.

        -Barack Obama

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer,
reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed
delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr.
Obama described the call to prayer as ‘one of the prettiest sounds on
        Earth at sunset.’

        -The New York Times, 2007

Today I want to extend my very best wishes to all
who are celebrating Nowruz around the world. This holiday is both an
ancient ritual and a moment of renewal, and I hope that you enjoy this
special time of year with friends and family.

In particular, I would like to speak directly to the people and
leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Nowruz is just one part of
your great and celebrated culture. Over many centuries your art, your
music, literature and innovation have made the world a better and more
beautiful place. Here in the United States our own communities have been

enhanced by the contributions of Iranian Americans. We know that you
are a great civilization, and your accomplishments have earned the
respect of the United States and the world.

        -Barack Obama

Since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States. …
Islam has always been a part of America’s story. … There is a mosque in
every state in our union, and over 1,200 mosques within our borders.

        -Barack Obama

One of the points I want to make is, if you actually took the number of
Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the
        world.

        -Barack Obama

  • Sangraal

Molotov cocktails are small potatoes for aspiring jihadis. Was he anticipating a riot or something? One would think that were he planning a terror attack, he would have used the kind of Al-Qaeda manuals jihadis usually use, which involve more destructive devices. Maybe he was going for a Woolwich style attack emphasising ‘shock and awe’ over extensive damage and casualties.

    • A gasoline bomb that requires a soaked rag to be externally ignited is NOT a “Molotov Cocktail”. The real item consisted of carbon disulfide and benzene saturated with white phosphorus and sulfur, in a glass bottle with a real cork in it (CS2 dissolves rubber stoppers). One merely throws it without having to light anything. When the bottle breaks, the white phosphorus ignites spontaneously in the air.

      • Sangraal

I had a feeling our resident munitions and explosives expert might weigh in on this one…;)

  • IstvanIN

The news reader said investigators do not believe he was trying to make a bomb. Of course we all have three or four quart milk bottles filled with gasoline and kerosine sitting around the house. Unbelievable the news reader could even say that without laughing.

  • John R

Well, at least that is one positive result of all those predator drone strikes, and the great job our troops are doing. We have killed a lot of the best terrorists, and now Al Qaida has to rely more and more on rank amateur like this fool. Wonder if his burns hurt? Yeah, bud. And that is how your victims would have felt! LMAO!

  • Tarczan

This is the only good news on today’s AmRen links in what is an otherwise really depressing batch. I hope the hospital runs out of pain killers and he mercifully dies three months from now.

  • Druid

Couldn’t be such a smart guy lousing up a stupid molotov cocktail. Doesn’t get much simpler than a molotov cocktail…

    • Intelligent immigrants like Goat-Boy are going to save the US economy and create jobs, don’t ya know!

  • NoMosqueHere

It’s a scam, but also sheer insanity.

  • dd121

The Muslims have been taught that they have a moral obligation to try to destroy the West and Christianity. Why do our leftist leaders pretend they’re just ordinary citizens like us and we should take to precautions against their potential actions?

  • Spartacus

    ….

    • Malgus

      ….

  • Aside from the fact that with 90% burns, Goat-Boy will probably not survive, three other incontrovertible facts immediately come to mind here: 1. People who don’t know what they are doing shouldn’t mess around with weapons. 2. It is a complete shame that footage of this burning idiot is not available on YouTube. 3. If Goat-Boy somehow does survive, BATF and the local US Attorney’s Office will charge him with “possession of an unregistered destructive device” for the gasoline bomb. Ka-ching: ten years in federal prison!

It’s always fun when the Diversitards set themselves on fire. Perhaps someone should fix Akhshabi up on a hot date (pun intended) with Sharmeka Moffett, as they apparently have a lot in common.

    • r j p

You sure they will charge him? He’s not White …..

  • CJ Haze

Georgia Tech: My Alumni. I weep.

I wanted to field a “ask me anything” comment but the truth is, I’m obsolete in my analysis.

When I got was pursuing my Master’s at Tech, I often smoked cigarettes (Aaaaaaaaaah!) with a fellow post-graduate named Samir. Since I can’t post links, google “sword georgia tech” and you’ll know him.

He was a Coptic Christian (born in Egypt) here to learn –Gadzooks– and go back home to Egypt and flourish. Except it was the time of the “Arab Spring.”

He had finished his thesis for his doctorate. The only reason we talked is because we both smoked on a campus full of “I’m under 23, daddy left me, get used to it” delusional PACtivist righteous boners that were second-generation mind pulp fiction offspring. In other words, they would fake cough to alarm you smoking is bad, when you were clinching a pen tip between the bicuspids. Or — and this is my favorite example– wave frantically around as if to dilude the smoke when you are smoking that carcinogen boner known as a… lollipop.

College is dead. Collage runs rampant. Forget history; taxpayers paid millions to justify the budget for pictures over sustenance. Liberal Arts is a claw in the foot of the Cathedral. Watch how it grows and toes.

    • Anna Tree

      Was Samir the victim?

Another jihadi news that the media is silence about… First muslims enrich our culture and second, there is too much to say about the Kardashians…

      • CJ Haze

Yes, he was the victim. He went home to care for his dying father who would not go to chemotherapy because it was more deadly to be in the streets with the Muslim Brotherhood looming around. And that was when our press and government was peddling the “Arab spring” nonsense.

        I never heard from him.

        • Anna Tree

I am sorry to hear, I hope they are fine but the news we are sometimes told by the media are not good… it must be even worse in reality. It is heartbreaking that a Copt leaves his country, the home of his ancestors for thousands of years since Pharaonic times, where Copts are now a minority in a see of violent muslims most Arabs and therefore not native to Egypt, and immigrates to a non-muslim allegedly free and strong country like America, only to get almost murdered by a muslim here. He is not the only one too, I heard about at least two Copts who have been beheaded in the US. And again silence in the media and from the politicians.

    • Einsatzgrenadier

I can’t stand that word “Cathedral” for the politically correct establishment. The term “Synagogue” would be far more appropriate, as well as more historically accurate.

  • Anna Tree

Saamer was welcomed as a refugee here, despite helping terrorists back home. Obama said he only helped them a little: he just drove his sister to where she exploded and only donated a bowl of rice to ben laden when this one was hungry! Nothing that should scare us.
We were so lucky that Saamer was willing to enrich us: just another fantastic candidate for an American citizenship. And Saamer was so thankful that he worked hard to become a terrorist, hoping to kill as many Americans as he could (overpopulation is a problem). But tragedy stroke: Obama calls this another sad workforce accident.
Saamer cannot enrich us anymore, we will have to bring his 9 brothers and 12 sisters if we want to stop being poor and racist.

  • Epiminondas

They joys of diversity are destroying us.

One of the news articles about this thug commented something to the effect that [paraphrased, because I can’t remember the exact words] “we are focusing on treatment for the “victim,” and supporting his family through this crisis.”
I pulled out all of my hair. Nary a strand left. Sheesh.

  • Richard Johnston

Dare to point out politically incorrect truths and you are called an “Islamophobe.” As bad as the Islamic terrorism threat is–been to an aiport lately?–the bigger threat this country faces is Truthophobia.

  • I would say “caucasian”, but not genuinely white in the sense Slavs, Celts and Teutons are.

    • Jack Burton

Rather Caucasoid, with minor South Asian and African admixture.

      • Einsatzgrenadier

Iranians are Middle Eastern Caucasoids who cluster genetically with other Middle Eastern populations. There’s also some Mongoloid admixture.

  • Sounds… “improvised”. The original Molotov was a production, issue item for Finnish soldiers in their 1939-1940 Winter War against the USSR, to help them cope with Soviet tanks. They were named for Vyacheslav Molotov, Stalin’s foreign minister who bullied Finland into war.

  • Jack Burton

Nonsense, they’re a West Eurasian population, they are not European.

  • Einsatzgrenadier

Muslims are statistically more likely than any other group to commit acts of terrorism, yet we still have to mass immigrate as many as we possibly can to America. You would think the US government would have learned its lesson after 9/11. Unfortunately, they would rather carry on as before. The safety, happiness and tranquility of ordinary Americans has been clearly subordinated by the government to its policy of race replacement and ethnic cleansing of the founding population (white people).

  • Truth Teller

He would have snapped up by one of the computer industries and sent to Silicon valley the day after graduating. There would be several hundred better qualified White American men in his graduating class, but as a diversity hire he would get the job and unearned promotions.
As Engleman and the skilled immigration lobby keeps telling us, there are no White goy American men capable of preforming STEM jobs.

    • In the microelectronics industry in the 1990s, I averaged one US or foreign patent awarded every four weeks, for six years running. Extrapolating over the 14 years I have been out of my old field, I’d have about 260 patents now, instead of 79. I’d also be on a dozen different kinds of blood-pressure medication.

    • BonV.Vant

my sister inlaw was in charge of hiring an engineer, she hired the one female applicant, a moslem woman in a head scarf, she said this applicant was not the best qualified but contributed “diversity”. I have not spoken to that part of my family since I heard this, about 4 years ago.

I got out from GT 20 years ago, and there were a lot of subcontinentals and Chinese, a few Africans and mideasterners. I assume the trend has continued or accelerated since then. They claimed at the time that GT graduated more black American engineers than any other university, but the numbers were still low.

  • Truth Teller

Iranians have absolutely no African mixture. Let those who have never seen Iranians cease pontificating about what they look like.

    • I knew some Iranians as a college undergrad in California, but those were from families who had left only just after 1979. They liked bowling, and looked like Italians. They couldn’t drink like Celts, Germans or Russians, but they tried. I taught two of the young ladies – who did not wear head scarves – to waltz.

I was lonely. Bowling with them, I never did very well. I am a specialist at the 7-10 split.

    • Jack Burton

You don’t read much do you.

African admixture is more significant in southern Iran. Afro-Iranians are concentrated in Hormozagan, Sistan, Baluchestan and Khuzestan

During the Qajar dynasty they imported Zanj Bantu women and children as slaves to perform domestic work.

      • Ancient China also imported black slaves, but a very, very wise emperor ordered that they only be castrated males, in order to prevent the Chinese bloodline from being forever contaminated.

After World War Two, some Japanese prostitutes produced children with black US servicemen. These women and their kids were promptly shipped to Brazil.

        • Jack Burton

The Chinese enslave their own, they don’t need outside sources of slave labor.

  • Jesse James

You are right, it was a stupid comment. I do better when I don’t try to be flippant.
