Fascism and the Open Campus

Ken Miller, Brown Daily Herald, October 31, 2013

I went to scores of seminars and talks during my four years as an undergraduate at Brown, but the one I will never forget took place on the evening of Nov. 30, 1966. The speaker, a Brown alum, had been invited by the Faunce House Board of Governors to take part in its fall lecture series. But once his name was announced, a storm of objections forced the board to withdraw its invitation. Counterprotests ensued citing academic freedom and arguing that our campus should be open to all views, even—and perhaps especially—to those a majority of its members found repugnant.

The speaker was George Lincoln Rockwell ’40, leader of the American Nazi Party.

A new campus group called “Open Mind” was formed. Once recognized by the University, it re-invited Rockwell to campus. Rockwell spoke to a packed house in Alumnae Hall. Multiple groups picketed his appearance, including dozens of Holocaust survivors, many of whom were then only in their 30s and 40s. The memories were fresh, and the scars were real. As I walked through the crowd with a few friends, one of the picketers came up to me and asked us why we wanted to hear such a “monster.” To underline the point, he rolled up his sleeve and pointed to the numbers tattooed on his forearm. We all knew where those numbers came from.

Once inside, a hushed crowd listened to the full range of Rockwell’s charismatic style. He was charming, funny and, frankly, disarming. He knew how to break the tension in the crowd, telling us “the last time I was in Alumnae Hall, come to think of it, I wasn’t sitting. I was hanging onto a girl about half-stewed at a dance.” Everybody laughed, and I did, too. But as the evening wore on, I learned a lesson. True fascism doesn’t begin with the shouting, fist-shaking tyrants we see in newsreels of the 1930s. It enters with charm and wit. Its strategy is to beguile and divide, to offer easy answers to problems like crime and poverty. Blame them on the “others”—the blacks, the Jews, the Commies who are spoiling our otherwise virtuous society. It then promises to heal those lesions by cutting them out, figuratively at first, and then literally once the masses are firmly under control.

For the first time in my life, I understood the allure of fascism, the reason that “good people” could have supported the likes of Franco, Mussolini and Hitler. I also understood why the notion that “it couldn’t happen here” is hopelessly naive. It could happen here, and it most certainly would happen if we forgot the lessons of history, lessons that Rockwell brought to life with a sinister smile that evening in Alumnae Hall. I’m glad I was there. I’m glad the talk was allowed to go on. And I’m glad Brown was an open campus where those lessons could be learned in the most personal way possible.

Tuesday’s shout-down of another speaker makes me wonder about that. Ray Kelly, whatever his misdeeds, is no George Lincoln Rockwell. Rockwell’s idea of racial profiling wasn’t “stop-and-frisk.” It was “round up and deport.” Kelly has been accused of fascism, but Rockwell actually was a fascist—and a racist—and was proud of it on both counts. Yet the Brown community of the 1960s opened its doors to him, to avowed communists, and, at the height of the Vietnam war, to anti-war activists as well as the generals in charge of that war—like Earl Wheeler, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It was a lively and vibrant place.

The crowd who managed to silence a speaker yesterday accomplished something, to be sure. But it wasn’t a blow against racism, fascism or police oppression. It was a step towards a closed campus where mob rule determines who can speak and who will be shouted down. It was a shameful day. And it deprived every member of our community of the chance to hear Kelly and decide for themselves whether his policing methods are indeed the first steps of a Rockwell-like campaign against minorities and the poor in America’s greatest city. To those individuals, let me put it plainly. Yours was an act of cowardice and fear, unworthy of any of the causes you claim to hold dear. I hope President Christina Paxson will show the courage to stand up to you, to invite Kelly back and to give every member of this community the chance to have a “Rockwell moment” of the sort I had in 1966.

Bull. The left wing sees no difference between Kelly and Rockwell, because both are pratciting various forms of anti-egalitarian policy.

    • Nathanwartooth

Unlike the divided right, the left are all united.

If you are to the right of Lenin you are an enemy. They will mob you like animals. They will not let you speak. They will attack you and call you names. They will make up stories about you until you are fired and can’t find a job anywhere.

Think about how often FOX news is attacked. Even though it’s a really small minority in a sea of hard left fanatics.

I don’t even like FOX news, but it just shows how through their propaganda they make it seem like it is the root of all evil. Just like blaming a minority of politicians in the government for all of their problems.

I admire the left though. If the right had their convictions, maybe we could get somewhere.

      • Look toward the end of the comments of the Israel thread posted earlier this week here on AR, note the conversation between Pesach Patriot and myself.

The long and short of it is that, you’re right. On most issues, we, (and by “we,” I mean the right that’s to the right of your typical lamestream conservative) are divided 50 million ways to Sunday into many little fiefdoms for the benefit of the egos and wallets of all our little wanna-be leaders, while the left marches like ants and marches with military style precision, leaving their egos, personal disputes and internecine squabbles aside.

        Except for one issue:

        Second Amendment.

In which case, you flip the script.

Which is why we win more than we lose on 2A but lose more than we win on everything else, because do what it takes to win on 2A but strangely little else.

        • Sick of it

I’ll keep saying that we win on the 2nd because every time the scumbags try to shut it down, we react almost violently and that tells them we will shoot the government thugs if they try to take our guns. The pro-internet crowd reacts with similar gusto.

I’d love to look at that thread. It contained true wisdom and passionate edification. Unfortunately, the 100 finest comments were purged. Maybe Yagoda is a moderator here?

Lots of jews who love a good White Commenter purging.

This article is about George Lincoln Rockwell speaking
to thousands at a college university. Christ, Rockwell
wouldn’t even be allowed to be a commenter on this website
but he’s worth a hell of a lot more than a truth-squelchers running
around here. Give me The Bund, some armbands, some
black and brown shirts, over “They Look White To Me”
          cocktail circuit jew-mods.

        • Rhialto

Thank you! I have been saying and posting this idea, the divided, sub-divided, and cross divided opposition to united Liberalism, for a while. Finally somebody agrees with me; I thought that I was alone.

        • ms_anthro

I think because we all know that the Second Amendment is the only thing that protects the others. If the Left were ever able to disarm us, genocide would swiftly follow. We know it, they certainly know it, and so the gun culture continues to thrive.

“Never again” doesn’t just apply to a certain mid-century genocide, but to all of the ones that came before and after. We mean never again will we submit to a Holodomor. Never again will they shoot us into ditches, rape our nuns, murder our clergy, steal our children, burn us out of our homes.

Should they try these things, we will shoot back. And given how many of us are not just owners but enthusiasts, often with extensive military training, and given how increasingly disorganized their bureaucracies are and how squeamish leftists tend to be about gun ownership, we will mop the floor with them. For now, the only thing standing between us and the fate of White South Africans is our refusal to surrender our God-given right to self-defense.

          • I think a lot of us are missing the point of what I’m trying to say.

If we were as organized and “marched with military precision” on every other problem as we were on 2A, we would be nowhere near the fix we’re in.

          • ms_anthro

You’re right. I was just offering my theory about why we all rally around preserving the 2nd Amendment no matter how wildly different our politics might be.

There’s something indisputably sinister about a movement to disarm law-abiding people. Anyone who suggests it is suspect at best and it gives me a bit of faith in Whites that even many weak seeds refuse to give up their guns.

          • There’s also something wildly sinister about a movement to dispossess us demographically in our own country, yet we don’t seem to be as concerned nor do we engage in winning organization strategies on that issue. That’s the point Gregory Hood made in his article on Counter Currents earlier this year entitled “Beltway Rambos,” and in a round about way what Forbes hinted around in its article at about the same time entitled, “NRA, Wining the Influence Battle Over Gun Control.”

          • Jackryanvb

            Disagree.

White Americans have more gun rights than any other White Indo European civilians in the world. The reason public schools in Chicago, Cleveland, Memphis aren’t as safe and productive as schools in Singapore and Switzerland have little or nothing to do with our gun rights.

White Americans tend to get obsessed with issues that are a distraction to the survival of our people/culture.

Lot’s of White Indo European people and high East Aisans do things much better than White Americans. Singapore and Switzerland are safe, clean. Los Angeles and Birmingham Al are not safe and clean.

And let’s get out of the cult that insist that the US Constitution is sacred. The Constitution doesn’t ban usury, and doesn’t acknowledge obvious racial realities. We should expel these race denying Constitutionalist cult members to Haiti or Somalia and let them have a go at making their Masonic doctrine of universal brotherhood work with so e down low Black bruthers.

          • ms_anthro

You disagree with what, that the Second Amendment is the last obstacle between us and unrestrained genocide? What exactly do you think is keeping them from going door-to-door and putting tanks on the streets? I’m genuinely interested in your theories. We are dealing with neo-Bolsheviks here, tyrants who use the same methods wherever and whenever they operate. Their bloodlust for killing and torturing the innocent is surpassed only by their cowardice in the face of an armed revolt against them. They know that armed people cannot be so easily exterminated, hence the constant agitprop to sway public opinion against the sacred, God-given right to self-defense.

The rest of your post is barely relevant to my own, considering I never said that majority non-White cities are safe, nor did I assert that the 2nd Amendment somehow ensures safe schools. What I said is that without the Second Amendment and the will to preserve it, Whites will be completely at the mercy of anti-White and non-White governments and predators. And many of us instinctively know this, even if we won’t admit it out loud.

May more Whites develop the courage to say it out loud, and loudly.

      • sbuffalonative

The ‘progressive’ left is made up of many elements while the right is fairly uniformly white.

It’s easy for the left to unite against a single target. It’s much more difficult to organize against multiple ‘progressive’ targets.

        • Sick of it

Especially when we can’t get folks to look at the puppetmasters.

      • Sangraal

This idea of the left being united and monolithic that many on the right have is a total myth – from my experience, the left is every bit as divided as the right. Card-carrying Communists hate liberals as effete sell-outs, just as we scorn kosher conservatives and neocons. You know that Monty Python skit with the Judean Peoples’ Front and the Peoples’ Front of Judea? That’s exactly what the left is like.

        • NorthernWind

The left is united AGAINST but there are great gulfs between its constituting groups.

        • JohnEngelman

The left has various constituencies. They do not differ on any issues as thoroughly as the populist right and the business community disagree about immigration.

Moreover, “Card-carrying Communists” do not “hate liberals as effete sell-outs.” The American Communist Party figured out long ago that there was not going to be the kind of Communist revolution in the United States that there was in Russia in 1917.

          • Sangraal

Well, it depends which card they carry…You’re absolutely right that there are communists who take the route of social democracy/left-liberalism – Eurocommunists, Kautskyists, the Trotskyite wing of Old Labour, eg. Militant Tendency (and the ex-Trotskyite wing of New Labour, eg. Jack Straw) in the UK. The Communist parties in Italy and Greece are mainstream parliamentary parties. However for every one of these groups there are more radical hard-left groups who will regard (and be regarded by) the above groups, and each other, as ‘splitters’. And that’s before you even get into the various strains of anarchist groups, who hate anyone more moderate than them, and often each other. In my post above, it was this latter tendency that I had in mind, as this is the left I have experience with. But the fact that this is true for many groups and untrue for many others just highlights the divisions on the left.
A good example of pan-left unity against the racialist right (for this is where they find the most common ground) is the Trotskyite Socialist Workers’ Party’s state-supported, David Cameron endorsed ‘anti-fascist’ front group, Unite Against Fascism/Searchlight.
An early example of leftist division is Lenin’s ‘Left-Communism: An Infantile Disorder’ (a critique of Rosa Luxembourg and the Spartacists).

          • JohnEngelman

In the United States nothing to the left of the Green Party is of any more than academic interest.

The Democratic Party has constituencies, but no serious ideological divisions.

          • Sick of it

That’s an interesting statement, as Obama once referred to himself as a Marxist-Leninist. He’s also currently pushing for government control of…everything. Just in bits and pieces.

          • JohnEngelman

Where did Barack Obama call himself a “Marxist Leninist?” Quote him saying that, using a credible source.

Obama is a fairly moderate liberal. His only innovation is to introduce a health care plan that is very similar to the one Mitt Romney introduced in Massachusetts, and which is popular there.

  • Daniel Schmuhl

Colleges are already totalitarian institutions, try promoting Rushton or Salter and see how long you last.

  • Nathanwartooth

Here is my comment on the original website that I thought was decent.

“Blame them on the “others” — the blacks, the Jews, the Commies who are spoiling our otherwise virtuous society”

This is a logical fallacy. Saying that you can’t blame problems on a group just because they happen to be non White or a hard left ideology is ridiculous.

I call it the “Non White God” fallacy. Where every action by a non White is assumed to be Godlike and therefore infallible.

Example: A Black teenager doesn’t study, gets bad grades, punches a teacher in the face and gets suspended. Then he deals drugs and shoots someone. The explanation? “Legacy of slavery” “school to prison pipeline” “white privilege”.

This is why if a White person is poor it’s because they are a loser who can’t succeed in life. But when a Black person is poor it’s any fault but their own.

    • So CAL Snowman

Or as Cambria Will Not Yield says :

“The White race and only the White race worships the Negro as God, therefore it is the White race and only the White race that is being wiped out.”

The Negro God has feet of clay, that are also badly in need of a pair of odor eaters.

  • Fighting_Northern_Spirit

Blame them on the “others”—the blacks, the Jews, the Commies who are spoiling our otherwise virtuous society.
    .
OK, so that’s fascism. If the blame is placed on Whitey, that’s Cultural Marxism. Looks like separation is the only answer.

If you replace “True facism…” with “The truth…” the statement is much closer to ‘the truth’ because the truth is immutable and stands on it’s own. It doesn’t need to shout or shake its fist because it is ‘THE truth’.

The first death camps were setup by the British against the Boers during the Boer War. The powers that be want to kill us in similar fashion. You know, that 90% world population reduction they keep talking about.

          • The Spanish army was doing that in Cuba in the 1890s.

        • So CAL Snowman

Quite right my friend. Not only were we lectured by Holocaust survivors we were even forced to visit the Los Angeles Musuem of the Holocaust. For the bus ride back to school, I stopped at a nearby video store and bought a copy of “Can’t Hardly Wait” and everybody spent the ride home laughing. The museum had absolutely NO effect on us.

      Spartacus,

Do you admire Adolf Hitler? Are you sorry Nazi Germany lost World War II?

      • Spartacus

No and yes. I admire many things about Hitler, but I ultimately cannot be sympathetic to him because of the Vienna Diktat , although I still believe he can be both a symbol as well as an educational tool. I don’t know how I would feel if I was born before, during or shortly after WWII, but as someone in their early 20s, I can say that, drawing the line, the world would’ve been a better place if the Third Reich had won the war instead of the System that we all know and love .

Too many Jews suffer from what I call political autism, the inability to see faults in themselves and to have sufficient empathy with others. But lack of compassion for those outside their own circle not confined to them alone, as “people like Spart” and you demonstrate.

I don’t particularly admire Adolf Hitler. However, America would have been a better place had we never entered the war. We lost much and gained nothing by fighting. We lost a generation of fine young men, and we gained J2wish overlords who destroyed our civilization. I would definitely America had been conquered by German-speaking Nordics than be downtrodden by welfare-dependent Spanish-speaking mestizos & Amerindians.

        • Sick of it

They wouldn’t have been able to invade America and the Germans knew it. The gullible people over here believed nonsense propaganda like that. Also, I’m pretty sure Hitler’s circle would have been dead within 10 years, killed by their own people. They were too extreme to those who disagreed with them, like poor Erwin Rommel. Making a man take poison to prevent a bunch of thugs from murdering his family in cold blood.

      • So CAL Snowman

Engelman please, the Germans were fighting against Global Communism. Of course we are sorry that they lost World War 2. Had the Germans won World War 2 our present nightmare would not exist, and we would not be facing genocide as a race.

        • JohnEngelman

If the Axis had won the Second World War Japan would have conquered China. Germany would have conquered the mainland of Europe, and probably Great Britain as well. An additional six millions Jews would have been killed. I am glad none of that happened.

Whites are not facing genocide. Whites with low IQ’s are facing an economy that has little use for them. Jews are prospering because they are biologically superior. That is why many inferior people hate them.

I don’t know the author, Prof Ken Miller, but I know his type. Cultural Marxists always take both sides of an issue. Miller is taking the free speech side, while the campus Marxist punks are taking the thug side, shutting down everyone who has something intelligent to say. Miller doens’t really want to listen to our ideas today, any more than he really wanted to listen to Commander Rockwell back in the day. His ploy is to get us on campus and then distort and misinterpret our facts and ideas, while seeming like a nice, normal, reasonable guy. I’ve seen through this bull before. It doesn’t work on me anymore.

    • NeanderthalDNA

    • Zaporizhian Sich

All too often truth emerged from mass graves and other atrocities that hostile racial and religious aliens prefer to remain hidden from the public. A case in point was the Katyn massacres, which was proven to be the work of the Tribe, not the Nazis as the world was lead to believe. The truth is like a body buried in a clandestine grave, sooner or later the remains surface, literally. That is our enemies greatest nightmare, the truth surfaces unexpectedly and at the worst possible time.

      • JohnEngelman

The percentage of secular Jews in the Soviet Communist Party was slightly higher than the percentage of Jews in the Soviet population, but only slightly. The vast majority of Party members were Gentiles.

I have documented that. My impression from reading about the Soviet Union is that the Soviet government was harsher toward observant Jews than it was toward practicing Christians.

        • Zaporizhian Sich

They are not a religion, they are a hostile ethnic group. DNA proves that. They left the Jews alone, they left the Muslims alone. My parents saw synagogues and mosques all over when they visited Russia in the 1960’s. They saw hardly any churches at all, and those were full of KGB agents. I know a lot more than you do about the Soviets and the monsters behind it.

          • JohnEngelman

Jews are not a hostile ethnic group. Ashkenazi Jews are a biologically superior racial group. Those who are hostile to them resent their intelligence and prosperity.

It’s like watching Fabrice Robert speak again and having Muslims moderate chat while he speaks. This is why I ridicule the young, short Wolff. Add an asterisk to what the FBI agent said in my last post and let it slide. Don’t negate the whole post!

Mr. Kelly is surely not a fascist. Nor are the Brown students. The behavior that the students at Brown is much better described as Stalinist. The comparison fails because Brown students don’t have the power to destroy the lives of millions as Stalin did. But if they did have the power, I’m quite sure they’d use it in the same way.

    • Luca

Rather than Stalin, would you settle for Alinsky? These little delusional twerps are usually organized by Alinskyites.

      • StillModerated

Alinsky is an acolyte of Antonio Gramsci.

Stalinists were very active in the US in the 1930s and 1940s. Here’s the kind of stuff they were doing:

      Communist Party of the USA

The Ukrainian American community upon receiving reports of the Famine in November and December 1933 organized marches in a number of U.S. cities to protest against American recognition of a government which was starving millions of Ukrainians.[23][24] American Communists resorted to violence in an attempt to silence the Ukrainians.[25][26][27] On November 18, 1933, in New York City, 8,000 Ukrainians marched from Washington Square Park to 67th Street, while 500 Communists ran beside the parade and snatched the Ukrainians’ handbills, spat on the marchers and tried to hit them.[28][29] Five persons were injured.[30] Only the presence of 300 policemen on foot and a score on horseback leading the parade and riding along its flanks prevented serious trouble.[31][24]

In Chicago, on December 17, 1933, several hundred Communists mounted a massed attack on the vanguard of 5,000 Ukrainian American marchers, leaving over 100 injured in what The New York Times called “the worst riot in years”:

“Brick, clubs, rotten eggs and other missiles rained on the marchers from the Hermitage Avenue elevated station bridging Madison Street. The street fight which followed saw brass knuckles, blackjacks, fists and rifle butts used until a dozen squads of police restored order.”[13]

Communists and Anti-Fascists are truly the lowest of the low. They are the dregs of society. I was not aware of the efforts by the American Ukrainian community to bring attention to the plight of Ukrainians under Bolshevik rule. The decision by the United States to ignore the plight of the Ukrainians just reinforces the idea that the U.S. entered WWII as a proxy for the Jews and not for humanity (as we were told).

  • StillModerated

Brown professors are pretty dim-witted. If they cannot figure out that the fascist system is one where big business are and big, imperial government are merged in an unholy alliance — and is exactly what we enjoy right now, then they need to get re-educated at better quality schools.

  • curri

Blame them on the “others”—the blacks, the J–s, the Commies who are spoiling our otherwise virtuous society.

Well, no more “otherwise virtuous” society to worry about anymore! And “Commies”-unlike “fascists” and “N-zis”- are never a cause for worry.

I’ve seen the pictures of the starving children you monster!!!

Apparently we have at least one moderator (not sure who) who believes in Oriental Supremacism…which does not have ANYTHING to do with being pro-American. An interesting ideology for a website, or for people associated with a website, called AMERICAN Renaissance.

    • JohnEngelman

The United States has always been a multi racial country. North America and South American have been too.

  • MBlanc46

He sure stirred things up around here when he decided to hold a march in Skokie, IL.

    • Jackryanvb

Think that was a few years after Rockwell died. Rockwell was murdered in 1967 , the marches you reference were in the 1970s.

      • MBlanc46

        I stand corrected.

  • Hunter Morrow

I think it shows a lot of balls for this website to run this article when any comment that
isn’t shabbos goy rabbi-buttkissing is deleted.

Pull the plank out of your eye before you worry about a college’s speck.

  • RHG

I find it interesting that he would throw the “commies” in with blacks and jews as if they are some kind of “victim group” too. The commies are responsible for more murder and mayhem then the fascists could ever dream of and the commies have forgotten that Joe Stalin was an ally of Hitlers at one time. But having commies on American college campuses is just fine, why are these people not ostracized and shamed for supporting a political system responsible for so many atrocities around the globe?

    • ms_anthro

Because they are the system now. When you control the bullhorns of governmedia and have the power of the State behind you, it’s easy to overreach as they are currently doing.

As Napoleon advised, let’s not interfere while they make their mistakes. The hubris is getting to obvious for all but the most sheepish true believers to ignore.

  • WR_the_realist

In my experience the only meaning left of the word “fascist” is this: Somebody that some leftist doesn’t like.

    • Zaporizhian Sich

Indeed, fascist is a code word for people those who cannot be named want exterminated. In other words, the real and hidden in the shadows ruling elite intend to exterminate all people of European descent.

  • JohnEngelman

I voted for Obama in the 2008 primary, and in both general elections. Nevertheless I am not a fan of his either. My main objection is not to his polities, but to his competence.

He is rather clearly a beneficiary of affirmative action. We need better during the most serious economic downturn since the Great Depression.

Still, I would have an incompetent community organizer than a competent vulture capitalist, who like Mitt Romney made a fortune by firing people.

  • ms_anthro

You also didn’t resort to womanish snark, like “Wow. Just wow.” and “Seriously?” as though asking basic questions about our own culture and people is now beyond the realm of the civilized. Another leftist favorite: “Just sit down and shut up.”

Hmm, how about no? They can’t stand it when you refuse to be cowed, so push back hard.

    • KingKenton

You also didn’t resort to womanish snark, like “Wow. Just wow.” and “Seriously?”

      You left out, “Reeaallllly….” 🙂

  • Defiant White

I wish modern whites knew more about the early history of communism and fascism so they could tell people like this author (and several commenters) where to stick it.

Some believe that the opposite of communism is capitalism. It’s not. The opposite of communism is FASCISM. The communist believes all are equal. The fascist is ultra, ultra-nationalist, believes his group is superior and is willing to tolerate a totalitarian state (usually led by The One supreme leader) to protect “his group” and defeat “others.” Liberals are not fascists. They are socialists (or communists) who demand authoritarian rule to suppress non-socialists and communists.

Rockwell was a fascist and a racist. But he wasn’t tossing out “easy answers” and apparently this author doesn’t understand that Rockwell was making the classical fascist argument: When you demand the “equality” of minorities, you ruin the nation.

Rockwell was a WHITE CHRISTIAN AMERICAN nationalist. He was perfectly fine with jews living in Israel and blacks living in Africa. He just didn’t want them here.

    • Fascists don’t have to believe their group is superior and Rockwell wasn’t a Christian. Also, communism doesn’t really simply have an “opposite,” be it capitalism or fascism.

      • KingKenton

I believe he professed to be an agnostic. AFAIK, he was not hostile towards or believed Christianity to be an impediment to his work. He was allied with various Christian Identity groups.

“There should be no subject in this country that we’re afraid to discuss – especially when it impinges on the security of the United States of America and the White Christian people of the whole world!” – G.L. Rockwell

        • You’re right, he did. Keep in mind he couldn’t have gotten anywhere while expressing hostility to Christianity.

  • Sick of it

Huge megabanks funded Lenin. They got their money with interest off the backs of the Russian people.

  • Zaporizhian Sich

After the Soviets overran the concentration camps in Eastern Europe and Germany, they became death camps for even larger number of people imprisoned in them during and after the war. A professor of mine whose family was Hungarian showed me a shocking map that showed not only that the Soviets filled the Germany camps with even more people, they built more camps in which to exterminate Hungarians. In other words, they used them for their own ends, and blamed the Germans for it.
