FBI Orders New Agents to See Martin Luther King Memorial

David Ingram, Reuters, October 28, 2013

The new FBI chief on Monday ordered all new agents and analysts to visit the national memorial to late civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. as a reminder not to repeat the abuses of the U.S. investigative bureau’s past.

In a similar gesture in 2000, the FBI added a stop at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum to its required training for new agents. Both sites, along with FBI headquarters, are in Washington.

FBI Director James Comey said in a speech to FBI employees that he wanted to add a similar reminder from the bureau’s own history.

“It will serve as a different kind of lesson–one more personal to the bureau–of the dangers of becoming untethered to oversight and accountability,” Comey said.

The FBI kept files on King as a potential security threat in the 1950s and 1960s–even wiretapping his phones–because of what the bureau said were suspected ties to communism. Comey called the King investigation an example of “abuse and overreach” in the FBI’s history.

  • Who will visit the graves of Heather Muller, Julie Love, Channon Christian, Eve Carson, Lauren Burk, Emily Haddock, Brittny Watts, Kim Kilgore, and Collen Ritz in remembrance of “past abuses?”

  • Jesse James

Their biggest abuse in the 60s was failing to publicly out MLK for being a communist. He never should have been allowed to become the cult like Saint of multi-culturalism that he has become. If I hear another conservative quote from MLK I will throw up. He was a black racial leader, let them celebrate him.

    • And was “down low”.

    • Oil Can Harry

Somebody tell James Comey- the gov’t goon who framed Martha Stewart- that the FBI wiretapped Dr. King because they were ordered to do so by their boss Attorney General Bobby Kennedy.

      • Jesse James

He was under surveillance but they didn’t release any of the really damaging evidence and even today his files are restricted.

    • Alexandra1973

He also was not a Christian. He did not believe in the basic tenets of Christianity.

By their fruits ye will know them.

      Plagiarism also.

Just keep on repeating the abuses of the bureau’s present.

      James B. Comey isn’t a shine, but I’d bet he’s a poofter.

    • Pro_Whitey

I think a visit to the white marble memorial should be accompanied with “See that? That’s what we have to go after!” Ah, in my dreams.

“Suspected” ? Really !?!? I live on another continent, and I still know these weren’t “suspicions”, they were the obvious truth !

      Spartacus, FYI:

This photo was taken Sept. 2, 1957 showing King attending the Highlander Folk School which the Communist Party operated at Monteagle, Tennessee.

Identified in the picture is No. 1 King, No. 2, Abner Berry, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and writer for the “Daily Worker,” No. 3, Aubrey Williams, Communist Party agent and president of the Southern Conference Educational Fund (SCEF) a red front organizing blacks in southern states. No. 4, Miles Horton, head of the Highlander Folk School King was listed on the schools’ letterhead as a “sponsor.” The Highlander school was financed by the Julius Rosenwald Fund. At one time Rosenwald headed Sears Roebuck Co. He spent $22 million financing civil rights groups. His daughter Edith Stern continued to give money to the SCEF and Highlander Folk School after her father’s death. Her husband, Alfred stern of New Orleans, fled to Russia just before he was to be arrested on spy charges.

Classic case of ‘revolution from above’, generally involving non-Eskimos.

    • Alexandra1973

Rosa Parks was a communist too.

  • dave

the FBI is doing they’re field diversity training.

Yeah, I’m sure that order didn’t come down from the black racist AG Eric “My People” Holder or anything right? Next thing you know the FBI will be visiting Oakland to repent for investigating the TONS of violent crimes committed by The Black Panthers in the 60’s too. All while being made to chant “The Revolution Has Come, OFF THE PIG, It’s Time To Pick Up The Gun, OFF THE PIG”. From there it’s on to the Alameda County Courthouse for our perspective agents to chant “Free Huey” outside! ( As J. Edgar rolls in his grave! )

The “Abuse” was committed by a Mass Media that made a Low IQ Cheating Plagiarist, Womanizing Adulterer, Woman Beater, Immoral Blasphemous Preacher, and Marxist Pragmatist, a national leader, and now a worshiped saint.

[The visit is to remind agents of past FBI “abuses.”]

    You could have fooled me.

I thought it would be to remind them what a plagiarist, womanizer, and communist sympathizer was.

This is black comedy (pun intended) at its finest. If I were a Hollywood screenwriter, I couldn’t make up something like this and put it in the script with a straight face. A few years ago, my criminal defense attorney had just come back from one of those seminars that lawyers go to, and he warned me that the FBI plants child pornography on “enemies of the state” all the time to get them into prison. Thus, if the FBI is serious about not abusing people, then stop planting evidence on white nationalists and others.

  • Xerxes22

James Comey is just another lawyer, a political appointee with no FBI or security background. He put Martha Stewart in prison so he did play a role in protecting our country from dangerous criminals. These are the types of hacks that are put in charge of so many importent government departments. He is also a Bush Republican who supported McCain and Romney. He’s a guy who knows how to network and suck up to move up the ladder.

  • MekongDelta69

Does the FBI make the new agents kiss St. Martin’s feet too?

    (Hey – Ahm jes’ axin’)

I have tried several times during the last eighteen months to get the FBI to investigate a group of nonwhite Doctors that were intentionally harming their White patients .I even went so far as to type up an eight page document explaining what they were doing and went to the Charlotte FBI office for a sit down with one of their agents but they did nothing.
Had it been four White Doctors intentionally harming Black Patients then I am sure it would be a different story.

  • 1stworlder

F that they should be forced to go over the MLK wiretaps to see how beastly he was.

  • sbuffalonative

When I read the headline, I wondered why he didn’t include the Holocaust Museum. I see in the second paragraph that was required as of 2000.

  • Are they going to eventually also be reminded that burning 80-odd people alive and shooting an unarmed, nursing mother in her head are also no-nos? I’m not going to hold my breath.

…new FBI chief on Monday ordered all new agents and analysts to visit the national memorial to late civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. as a reminder not to repeat the abuses of the U.S. investigative bureau’s past.

New agents required to make a pilgrimage to visit a statue created by a Communist Chinese to ameliorate for “past FBI abuses?”

Better if the new FBI director had new agents visit Ruby Ridge where an FBI sniper shot Randy Weaver in the back and then killed Vicki Weaver while she was holding her 10-month old baby — and the remains of the Branch Dividian Compound in Texas where the FBI initiated a siege lasting 51 days, eventually launched an assault with tear gas and ultimately burned 76 men, women and children to death.

Or perhaps a visit to RFK’s grave site would be in order because HE is the one who authorized the FBI to wiretap the telephones of MLK. As a final penance, new agents could listen to the MLK tapes themselves where MLK jokes about Kenndy’s assasination and says he’s….for God.

    • Randy Weaver didn’t get shot in the back. It was his teenaged son, Samuel who was, and it was US Marshals who did it.

I wonder if they will also be ordered to remember COINTELPRO, the infamous psyops campaign in which the FBI used smear tactics to silence government critics. Probably not; the $PLC is likely telling them right now via “intelligence briefings” to do that to Tea Party activists.

      • Bon, From the Land of Babble

Before the negotiators arrived at the cabin, FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi, from a position over 200 yards north and above the Weaver cabin, shot and wounded Randy Weaver in the back with the bullet exiting his right armpit, while he was lifting the latch on the shed to visit the body of his dead son. (The sniper testified at the later trial that he had put his crosshairs on Weaver’s spine, but Weaver moved at the last second.)

Then, as Weaver, his 16-year-old daughter Sara, and Harris ran back toward the house, Horiuchi fired a second bullet, killing Vicki Weaver.

I’ve got a couple of good book titles on my back burner. One of them is “Clinton and the White Rebellion”. That’s in my estimation is the real story and purpose of the Clinton presidency and the reason why he was put in office. The scorecard for him was part success and part failure. Apocalyptic events alerted too many people to the dangers of ever-growing federal power.

The other title is “The Crisis of the New Order”. The idea here is to create an account of the many bad decisions made and ideas proposed by inexperienced people, often, though not always, women, who have been fast tracked into or for political reason placed in sensitive positions. And example would be the civilian legal counsel, a 27-year-old woman, who advised American forces that they could not fire on and kill Mullah Omar when they had him targeted early in the Afghanistan War, because Omar was deemed a head of state. This event turned out to be not so consequential after all, but it is typical of the kind of thing I am thinking of.

I will never be able to develop either of these ideas. Anybody who wants to take them, go ahead. Now that I think about, the “New Order” is in a constant state of crisis. It doesn’t seem to bother them at all.

    • Remember, It was our attorney general that was involved in both.

  • dd121

Do they give you the choice to visit Robert E Lee’s tomb at VMI? I thought so.

For those of us old enough to recall when it was discovered–the acronym is
COINTELPRO. Some of it was visited upon law abiding citizens of the KKK,
for example–not just people off in leftie dream land. It arises out of an inherent
temptation in police work. IF IF you can make tally marks for yourself as a cop
by investigating people who are endlessly described as suspicious but who are not
in fact breaking any law, you are in blue utopia. You will never have to argue
with a prosecutor pre-trial about the quality of your work. There will be no trial
since there is, in fact, no crime. Likewise, you’ll never have a defense attorney
reduce you to shreds in cross examination. There will be no trial. But you might
be able to “testify” at some $eminar in some Law Sinter somewhere $outhern
enough to be warm in winter—all in some anti-hate fun while you are on paid
leave. The ideal cop these days is smart enough to be skillful in his work and
too dumb to understand how he’s being used and how quickly he’ll be cut
    loose if he messes up.

  • I was under the impression that Harris had been the one who was hit and wounded.

    • Bon, From the Land of Babble

You are right that Sammy was hit in the back and killed by US Marshals.

US Marshal Cooper fired a 9mm Colt submachine gun at Sammy Weaver who was hit in the back and killed as he was retreating.

Harris shot and killed Agent Degan who he said was firing at him from an M-16 (it was later determined that Degan had fired 7 times while moving 21 feet).

Kevin Harris was acquitted of all charges. on grounds of self-defense. In September 2000, Harris was awarded a $380,000 settlement from the government.

If these agents could spill his hidden records, something tells me they would no longer have to go visit this monument.

Do they get slap around women too??

The big problem about “abuse and overreach” is the inherent misunderstanding that a university (classroom) education imparts to the average FBI agent. Unless maybe an especially bright female agent as an undergrad had an affair with a “truth addict” professor who told her racial and eugenic facts of life across the pillow–she believes what it was safe to say overtly. And so, encountering someone who is using the mails to send a copy of John R. Baker’s RACE or Carleton Coon’s ORIGIN OF RACES is ipso facto suspicious. If the Bureau is serious about overreach, I’ll know it when I hear credibly through the grapevines that Jared Talor has been contracted to provide informal lectures at the Quantico training facility; when Kevin MacDonald and Sam Dickson have likewise been engaged by the FBI.
And when Chris Brand has been brought over here to give a presentation not merely on his ‘depublished’ book THE “G” FACTOR but to present about the circumstances surrounding this debacle. None of it is gonna happen anytime soon. Even if President Obama and Larry
Summers offer to sit in audience
