Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood to Coptic Christians: Convert to Islam, or Pay ‘Jizya’ Tax

Jessica Chasmar, Washington Times, September 10, 2013

The Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters have began forcing the roughly 15,000 Christian Copts of Dalga village in Egypt to pay a jizya tax as indicated in Koran 9:29, author and translator Raymond Ibrahim reported on Sunday.

Jizya is the money, or tribute, “that conquered non-Muslims historically had to pay to their Islamic overlords ‘with willing submission and while feeling themselves subdued’ to safeguard their existence,” Mr. Ibrahim explained.

{snip}

In some cases, families not able to pay have been attacked. As many as 40 Christian families have now fled Dalga, Mr. Ibrahim reported.

The taxes are not unique to Egypt either.

Just over the weekend Syrian rebels went into a Christian man’s “shop and gave him three options: become Muslim; pay $70,000 as a tax levied on non-Muslims, known as jizya; or be killed along with his family,” Christian Science Monitor reported.

And keep in mind, this is all happening on the US taxpayer’s money. Wonderful, isn’t it ?

    • me

As wonderful as root canal. Three words to solve our problems with our enemy ‘government’–IMPEACH THEM ALL!

  • How about I kill you instead of paying your tax?

  • 0bama is an Islamic sympathizer if there ever was one.

    • Homo_Occidentalis

Obama wants American forces to support Al Qaeda in Syria. Your president is a terrorist.

    • Sick of it

His brother is in the Muslim Brotherhood.

Amren deleted my post with an image from a decapitation from Syria done by US-funded islamists … Come on guys, Americans are paying them to do this stuff, they should see it :

  • Spartacus

Mods, why did you delete my pic again ?

  • I wonder if these tax-collectors would be willing to be paid in lead.

  • There’s a fourth option. Mr. Spartacus knows this.

I don’t mind death. No rational being can be afraid of a certainty. Even if I were biologically immortal, violence or an accident would still someday claim me, and I will then have the peace denied me in life. I guarantee you this, however: THEY are afraid of death, because they’re just animals, or they expect a non-existent afterlife, which makes them superstitious animals.

The fourth option is that we take back our planet and make the Muslims extinct. I was banished from AmRen for suggesting this years ago. Unfortunately, doing this would require a dictatorship, and I prefer Constitutional government. Since the Constitution is not a suicide pact, I am in a bit of a quandry.

The religion of peace strikes again!

I guess that I’m only surprised that they haven’t been paying the jizya all along. Anyone know the history of this?

    • Sick of it

Syria is much more advanced than the 3rd world sh*tholes which normally comprise the Islamic world. Christians there had been under the protection of Assad, an Alawite…the Alawites are apparently part of a syncretic religion which combines Christianity and Islam.

Pre-Bush Iraq was a better place to live for people as well (especially Christians). They had a thriving pro-western middle class before the Gulf War.

I’m an atheist, and I agree. Muslims are a much bigger threat than Christians. Living in the U.S., I am free to openly declare my non-belief in God without fear of violent reprisal. In a Muslim country, I’d probably be raped, beaten, and then stoned to death for doing such a thing.

    • Sick of it

To be fair, they may set you on fire.

  • Since I live in a relatively free nation, I have posted a sign outside that says “We Kill Muslims Here”.

I doubt anyone will knock on the door to tell me to remove it.

  • Wethepeople

Here’s my jizya. Someone want to send Muhammad over to collect?

  • Wethepeople

Here’s my jizya! When will the tax collector be around..?

    • Zaporizhian Sich

Here is another jizya for them.

  • IKantunderstand

Actually, I like their straightforward attitude. We should figure out a way to do the same thing: “Look at the facts of criminality and I.Q., you don’t believe it? You pay double in taxes!”

  • WASP

The Muslim Brotherhood’s goal is a global caliphate. The Muslim term “dhimmis” means non-Muslims (at least those who survive) live as oppressed, second-class citizens, or “dhimmis.” Our traitorous government has allowed them into our country to live among us. Islam has a track record of 1,400 years and counting of jihadist carnage and expansion. Islam is a fanatical, savage religion of death. This is what we will face on our own US soil if nothing is done about them.

    • Zaporizhian Sich

That is precisely why my Cossack ancestors beheaded them in droves, why Vlad the Impaler impaled them on stakes and left them to die slowly in agony. They caused untold death and suffering for the Slavs, who returned the favor by killing Muslims with even greater ferocity. It’s time for whites to stop being sheep, and turn into roaring lions and bears. Better to die in battle killing these slavers and genocidists than to bend knee to them and their death worshipping child rapist cult.

  • LIBERTYSINCURSION

There is nothing to worry about here folks. I recently learned that they are not doing anything different from what Christians do. In fact Christians are just as dangerous if not more so than what Muslims are, or at least that’s what Rosie O’Donnell told me.

The United States should not have contributed to the overthrow of
Gaddafi and Mubarak. We should not be involved in Syria.

We have no friends among the Muslims. When our enemies are fighting each other we should not interfere.

    • Kadaffy Duck hired sub-Saharan mercenaries to massacre his own people and threatened to “turn Europe black” with a flood of refugees. He clearly needed to go. Mubarak was hopelessly corrupt and I am delighted we didn’t prop him up the way we have so many foreign dirtbags in the past. Taiwan and South Korea have the advantage of relatively intelligent people, but they also got their start as military dictatorships. Japan had a vicious military junta ruling there between 1936 and 1945. I think Arabs deserve the chance to plot their own course. Unfortunately, I doubt that elected Islamist governments there will be able to promote the sort of economic development needed to provide jobs for young men. It certainly hasn’t worked in Iran over the last 34 years, even though this is the best guarantee of long-term stability. On the other hand, India is a relatively stable democracy, assassinations (ethnically related) of Mohandas, Indira and Rajiv Ghandi aside. Most of Latin America at one time was also corrupt military dictatorships, the Argentine junta being particularly nasty.

I believe Arabs should be allowed to chart their own destiny. I don’t want Muslims in the West, but I hope they don’t screw up this opportunity.

  • Why not just pay them in lead?

  • The problem with Iraq is that it wasn’t really a nation: it was three.

Saddam Hussein was probably the best Vice-President and later the worst President in the world. I wish they hadn’t hung him because he otherwise might have tried to explain how he went so badly wrong.

In 1920 The British “united” the 3 groups (Kurds, Shiite Arabs, and Sunni Arabs). into one nation to better control it’s Oil wealth.

Do a search for “Pat Condell” on YouTube, he’s a well-spoken atheist who is extremely critical of Islam. But in general, I agree, he’s the exception rather than the rule.
