Tawana Loses Job and Bed

Michael Gartland and Laura Italiano, New York Post, August 11, 2013

Maybe now she’ll really have to sleep in a trash bag.

A week after The Post reported exclusively that rape hoaxer Tawana Brawley’s first $3,764 in garnisheed wages was sent to the man she defamed 25 years ago, she has lost her job—and her bed.

A Rent-A-Center truck pulled up at noon yesterday at the reclusive Brawley’s apartment in the central Virginia town of Hopewell, and two workers removed her mattress, box spring and bed frame.

Brawley—who opened her door for the workers and moved her car for their truck—would not comment on the furniture repo or the loss of her job as a licensed practical nurse at The Laurels of Bon Air nursing home in Richmond.

Brawley, at age 15, crawled covered in feces out of a trash bag in Wappingers Falls, NY, to accuse prosecutor Steven Pagones and five white men of raping her.

The 41-year-old single mother of a young girl is required to pay Pagones more than $400,000 under a 1998 court decision in Pagones’ defamation suit against Brawley. {snip}

“I’m hoping eventually she’ll get tired of living like this and she realizes it will be easier to tell the truth and put this whole thing behind her,” Pagones said yesterday.

I doubt she lost her job, she must have quit to avoid paying the judgement. Probably now will live off welfare and what ever Jackson gives her.

    • BlarneyMiller

My thoughts as well regarding “losing” her job.

  • Spartacus

    This cheered me up 🙂

  • Puggg

She probably didn’t have good credit, even under her fake identity, which probably explains why she got a bed from Rent-a-Center.

Now, RAC will probably re-sell that bed and pass it off as new.

    • Even most thrift stores will neither accept nor resell used mattresses or box springs. Bedbugs have made such a huge comeback that it’s not worth the trouble.

      • bigone4u

True, because there are laws against it. But here at my apartment complex people put out at the dumpster perfect mattresses all the time. It’s a shame because someone can surely use them.

        • That’s always painful to see. One of the gigs I used to do from home was pick up used hardwood furniture and used bicycles outside area apartment complexes at the end of each month, refinish the furniture, repair the bicycles and then sell them. I didn’t mess with particle board, because one can’t sand down a veneer very far or upholstered stuff (bedbugs).

        • Salvation Army still takes used mattress donations as long as they’re fairly clean and in decent shape. Sure, there’s always a chance that some undeserving Bellcurvius will get it, but there’s also the chance that some deserving white person who really needs it will get it. Out by the dumpster, the mattress will only become a place where open air tricks are turned.

          • When I was 16 I worked at a grocery store in a fairly large city that had a Salvation Army drop-off in the parking lot, and it was a daily thing for blacks to come picking through the thing after about 5:00 or so when the S.A. worker left. The first time I saw it, I was taking out groceries and saw an enormous black woman grabbing clothes from the bin and holding them up against herself as though she was at Target or something! I went back in and told the idiot asst. manager, figuring he’d call 9-1-1, but instead he told me to go out and “shoo her off!”
I went out there and said, “Hey lady, the cops are coming, so you better go on.” I kid you not, she said, “Mothaf***a, I’m disadvantaged! F*** you!”
Well, needless to say, I saw no reason to tangle with a 300 lb angry “shopper,” so I said hell with it and went in. The asst. manager never asked me what happened. After that I never said a word when I saw that which was, as I stated, pretty much daily. I advised new guys to ignore it as well.

          • Irishgirl

Apparently she was not so “disadvantaged” that she couldn’t afford food.

          • If she was disadvantaged, she should blame nature!

          • Irishgirl

            Well, she was intellectually disadvantaged.

      • Luca

I believe that huge comeback bears a direct correlation to the huge influx of south-of-the-border invaders.

        • Romulus

Tip, that’s right. Read in an article in the NY times. They did an OP-Ed with a spokesperson from the CDC or pulled it from their data.

        • dd121

I’m sure that’s true but the msm will never admit the problem is due to their enlightened diversity policies. They’ll find an angle to blame it on racist whites.

    • Rent to own joints is where you get last year’s merchandise at next year’s retail prices and at 1981’s interest rates.

    • Erasmus

Now, RAC will probably re-sell that bed and pass it off as new.

Maybe The Smithsonian will take it. Aren’t the also trying to get Traybon’s hoodie?

      • They should strap Brawley on it and throw it in a big river!

The 41-year-old single mother of a young girl

    – Michael Gartland and Laura Italiano, New York Post, August 11, 2013

Why are most of them single mothers?

    • IstvanIN

Would you want to marry one? I am astounded they manage to get knocked up. Talk about beer goggles!

      • kjh64

Yes, but I’m sure the one who knocked her up isn’t any looker either.

        • IstvanIN

          Point well taken.

      • Not only doesn’t anyone want to marry one, but public assistance benefits are much less generous if the father is around. Unintended Democrat consequences strike again!

Finally, most of them are just too damned stupid to understand how birth control works.

        • Luca

          “Unintended”?

LBJ said: “I’ll have those ni66ers votin Democratic for the next 200 years”.

Every Liberal conceived welfare program in the US is aimed at getting their vote and not at improving the quality of life.

    • Romulus

The same reason why the jump white girls, leave them with child and leave. Complete lack of understanding of and/or breakdown of family, gangsta culture, cultural inertia,.etc.

    • GeneticsareDestiny

Because they evolved to be that way. In Africa, mothers can support their children through their work alone. They do not require the assistance of the father. And when a female animal (including humans) does not need the father’s assistance, she generally will not take measures to procure it.

In this type of environment, females will choose the male who is the most attractive to mate with, rather than the male who is most likely to have provider instincts.

In Europe, of course, this was different. Women needed the father’s help in providing for the child, so only women who chose providers for mates had children who survived, on average.

      • JohnEngelman

What you say is true. When females do not need the help of a male to raise their young they choose the fittest available male. In most species – peacocks are an interesting exception – he will not be the most attractive, but the best fighter.

The fact that males in sub Saharan Africa were selected by fighting ability more than by intelligence and the willingness to stay with a woman and help her raise her children helps to explain why black men usually make better athletes, and are often drawn to violent crime.

It also explains why most black men would rather be “a sex machine with all the chicks” than an adequate father.

  • Sue

Oddly, I didn’t notice national headlines on this. I wonder why?

    • NeanderthalDNA

      Does not fit the script.

      • Irishgirl

I think that question was rhetorical.

  • din_do_nuffins

She’ll get a bailout, because “even though maybe what she did was wrong, her cries for help highlighted the awful plight the black community still suffers from the painful legacy of slavery, Jim Crow, and perniciously virulent contemporary Tea Party racism.”

    • Erasmus

She should sue $harpton. I’m sure she can find some shyster lawyer who’d be happy to go after Rev’rum $harpton for some of his ill-gotten boodle.

  • bigone4u

This disgusting woman deserves whatever misfortune comes her way.

  • 1proactive2

Just wait, Al Sharpton will show up soon to help her. After all, he really cares about Tawana.

    • Spartacus

      I think I just realized who her baby-daddy is…

      • Irishgirl

        Best line of the day!

  • MekongDelta69

I am absolutely stunned and crushed by this news. I don’t know if I can continue with my life now.

Maybe Tawana Gibsmedat can nurse me back to health. After all – she IS an LPN. Highly qualified, no doubt…

    • IstvanIN

I wouldn’t want that caring for my mother.

      • Luca

I wouldn’t let her give my dog an aspirin.

  • borogirl54

What has surprised me is that Al Sharpton has not stepped up and paid her judgment. Will she ever tell the truth? I doubt it.

    • Whitetrashgang

Knowing the complete idiocy of blacks she probably now believes that George Zimmerman raped her and its time to sue him in court.

      • George Zimmerman doesn’t have any money left, but maybe Tawana can find some Duke University students with rich parents.

        • Erasmus

Maybe she can get Oprah to help. Nah, that will never happen. Orca is just the female version of Al $harpton and Je$$e Jack$on.

    • Are you joking? Al $harpton didn’t even pay his own judgement!

      • If I remember correctly, Johnny Cochran (sp?) did.

        • Earl Graves helped out, too. Attorneys Alton Maddox and Vernon Mason were also sued, and appear to have paid Pagones the large judgements awarded against them.

  • kjh64

She most likely quit and will now disappear and live off of welfare to avoid paying anything.

  • dave

good, i hope she has to live on street where she belongs. al sharpton destroys peoples lives while he gets rich on the white devils news network. i hope one day this fraudster gets his. i cant believe blacks still support this loser and fake reverend.

  • Frank-ly Speaking

I’m sure her pal, Al “Don’t talk ta us like we ig’nant!” Sharpton, will pay her bus fare to the welfare office.

  • bigone4u

Wouldn’t bedbugs be visible? Or are they too microscopic to see?

    • Ngati Pakeha

I have some experience with these little critters. Once you see them it is too late. You would have already been bitten multiple times and if you see one, trust me there are many more. They live within the mattress and are hard to kill chemically. I got them at a hotel and bought them home. I had to throw out my mattress and some of my clothes. I wouldn’t wish them on my worse enemy, then again?

      • Cimex lectularius

        • Ngati Pakeha

          Oh the trauma continues.

      • Jesse_from_Sweden

There is an excellent method of cleaning matresses and other things from various bugs.
There is a chemical sold under the name Uragan D2, which kills bugs very effeciently.
the best way to do it, to guarantee no surviving bugs is to put all items into a closed space and put in the chemical there and then it will slowly (over a 24h period) release a poisonous gas that will kill off the bugs.
This should be done in a separate and enclosed space, because the gas is deadly to pretty much anything living, which is kinda needed since bugs are notoriously hard to kill.

This chemical was also used in camps, in order to fumigate large amounts of mattresses and clothes, when bugs and the diseases they spread were a large problem. Originally it was used for this purpose all over Europe, since it worked wonders in decreasing diseases spread by bugs. It’s original name was Zyklon-B, a german invention, although now sold under the name Uragan D2, due to the bad reputation it’s original name had gotten.

        • Ngati Pakeha

Zyklon-B? You are kidding aren’t you?

          • Nope.

          • Jesse_from_Sweden

            It’s actually very effective.

Even the most ardent pro-holocaust historians admits that 95% of all Zyklon-B manufactured and used, were used for fumigating mattresses and clothes, not for gassing humans.

And a few holocaust deniers have done some testing showing that Zyklon-B is a bad choice for gassing humans, since it by design releases it’s gas content very slowly over a 24h period.

        • That name “Uragan” is quite funny. It’s German for “hurricane”, while “Zyklon” is German for “cyclone”. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

          • Jesse_from_Sweden

Actually, Uragan is romanian, not german, and it isn’t manufactured or sold in Germany (for rather obvious reasons).

        • cecilhenry

Just get a new bed for grief’s sake!!

          MAn…..

          • Jesse_from_Sweden

Why would I get a new bed?
I don’t have a problem with bed bugs.

      • Erasmus

Bed bugs? Along with drug-resistant TB, Chagas’ disease and cysticercosis (be careful who prepares your salad, when/if you eat out), wonderful by-products of unrestricted immigration.

        Celebrate diversity!
        *vomit*

      • They’re very pesticide-resistant these days. I suspect DDT would work, but this has been banned in the developed world because it does unpleasant things once it gets into the food chain. The usual treatment is to flood the infested building with carbon dioxide, which smothers them.

You could have saved the clothes by having them dry-cleaned. This involves them being soaked in an organic solvent like tetrachloroethylene, which would certainly kill insects and their eggs.

        • Ngati Pakeha

Thanks. Getting rid of them was a trial by ordeal. I forgot to add that the hotel I stayed at in Melbourne, Australia is often frequented by monied Asians and Indians. Apparently bed bugs, and other little morsels alluded to above, are/were their exclusive domain post WWll. The company I work for no longer send our staff there.

          • Apparently the DNA evidence shows there never was a population bottleneck in US bedbugs, so it wasn’t older pesticides that made them a non-problem. It appears that washing machines for clothing and bedlinen and vacuum cleaners for carpets made them scarce in homes here and forced them onto other hosts.

Several years ago, I routinely woke up several times each night feeling as if I was being bitten, with a blotchy rash and welts, so I suspected bedbugs, which wasn’t the case. My wife never had any complaints. It turned out that I am allergic to “Tide” laundry detergent.

    • Bed bugs are elusive and usually nocturnal (peak activity usually
occurs between 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.), which can make their detection difficult. They often lodge in dark crevices, and the tiny adhesive eggs can be nestled by the hundreds in fabric seams. Aside from bite symptoms, signs include fecal spots (small dark sand-like droppings that occur in patches around and especially beneath nests), blood smears on sheets (fecal spots that are re-wetted will smear like fresh blood), and the presence of their empty molted exoskeletons.

Although bed bugs can be found singly, they tend to congregate once established. Although they are strictly parasitic, they spend only a tiny fraction of their life cycles physically attached to their hosts.
Once feeding is complete, a bed bug will relocate to a place close to a known host, commonly in or near beds or couches in clusters of adults, juveniles, and eggs which entomologists call harborage areas or simply harborages to which the insect will return after future feedings by following chemical trails. These places can vary greatly in format, including luggage, inside of vehicles, withinfurniture, amongst bedside clutter, even inside electrical sockets and nearby laptop computers. Bed bugs may also nest near animals that have nested within a dwelling, such as
bats, birds,[17] or rodents. They are also capable of surviving on domestic cats and dogs, though humans are the preferred host of Cimex lectularius.[18]
Bed bugs can also be detected by their characteristic smell of rotting raspberries.

  • White Mom in WDC

I know most people do not feel sorry for her, but in done ways I do. The black community with its abundance of opportunistic adults such as The Reverends Al & Jesse have no qualms about using the black youth to advance their nefarious cause. Poverty pimps

    • And then they flush the people they’ve used like used toilet paper. That’s the real world. Be prepared to be treated like toilet paper by your “friends”, your bosses, police departments, DA’s offices, your own government, and sometimes even members of your own family.

When I was a research chemist, the name of the game in laboratory safety was minimizing risks. Sometimes this simply meant limiting my exposure to dangerous things. The same applies in society; I limit my exposure.

    • benvad

That’s the problem, whites like you always feel sorry for these people. That’s what is going to spell the end of us, damn altruism for the other. Please, save the compassion for the officers and Mr. Pagones, their lives were ruined, intentionally.

      • cablegirls

You don’t know White Mom. She’s not a “White(s) like you.”

    • kjh64

I’m no fan of Tawana Brawley. However, she was 15 at the time and a minor. I don’t know how a minor can be held accountable financially in a civil case the same as an adult. I guess she is, but in my opinion, it should be the hustlers Reverend Al and such who were adults and pushed it as well as the the DA or whomever that continued to pursue it with no evidence. I hold Brawley partially accountable but the adults much more so.

      • Evette Coutier

When I was 15 I stayed out late at night, but would never even considered covering myself in dung to get out of trouble with my parents, much less accuse others of violent crimes for which they could spend years in jail for. Save your sympathy for someone who deserves it.

    • Irishgirl

I might have felt sorry for her when she was 15, a young, stupid girl taken advantage of by poverty pimps. But now she’s an adult and still refuses to come clean. Every day that she doesn’t tell the truth, she is committing a serious crime against the men she falsely accused.

  • Romulus

You did indeed! Good call. You win the pool.
Sylvia brown’s got nothing on you!

  • gemjunior

She was a bad one then and she’s a bad one now. I would love to see that trashy Jackson and Al Sharpton taken down – I wonder if they gave her any money to pay this $400K? Sharpton is as guilty as Brawley because it sounds like he coached her and planned her little “story”. Well, thankfully, what goes around comes around, Tawana. You deserve all you’re getting. No pity from this end. “Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor” – You are in big trouble.

  • Herman

    Be honest.
Every person on the planet could have seen this coming.

  • Irishgirl

    Good call!

  • DiversityIsDeath

This white hating liar may have quit her job just for spite, so she wouldn’t have to continue pay Pagones.

  • Irishgirl

She made her bed and now she has to lie in it – oops, I guess she has to lie on the floor now.

  • She certainly could sue $harpton, but he wouldn’t pay that judgement either. She’d have to garnish his salary from MSNBC, and then – we know this script already – he’d just quit.

  • Did you see any books?

  • Why would someone take a rent-to-own deal on a bed? If I needed a bed and couldn’t afford one outright, I’d buy a futon at Wal Mart and either buy or build a foldable frame for it. The lumber wouldn’t be very expensive, and the hardware would consist of screws, a few hinges, and some pegs that could be made from oak dowels. She’d need an electric hand drill, with a few drill bits and a Phillips head screwdriver bit as well as a saw and some sandpaper. Urethane spar varnish optional. Harbor Freight sells cordless drills for $19.99. Since these are the people who whine about how they built the United States, I imagine a little carpentry would be manageable.

Rent-to-own is for peoples what be be haben de troubles wif maff… oh… nevermind. Could someone tell me again how de be inbentin de heliocobopter?

    • joesolargenius

I have built those type of bed frames for around fifty dollars using 2x12s and plywood.

  • They get into the seams on the cloth covering of the mattress.

  • Kit Ingoldby

Who on Earth has to rent a bed?!

  • Alucard_the_last

I hope it spends the rest of its life in poverty.

  • The immediate problem that policy will face legally is not disparate impact, but substantive due process. Make sure those city ordinances are written without any doubt to what is and is not a violation of them.

  • I wouldn’t, but then I have no sense of humor at all when it comes to money.
