Caste Discrimination to Be Outlawed by Equality Act

BBC News, April 23, 2013

Caste discrimination is to be outlawed in the UK, Business Secretary Vince Cable has announced in what is a U-turn on previous government policy.

The House of Lords has voted twice for legal protection to be given to the estimated 400,000 Dalits – so-called untouchables – who live in the UK.

MPs overturned the first Lords vote, but after peers again backed the plan on Monday, there has been a rethink.

Mr Cable said caste would in future be treated as “an aspect of race”.

Keith Porteous Wood, of the National Secular Society, said: “We are delighted that the government has accepted that discrimination against caste should enjoy the same statutory protection as all other forms of protected characteristics.

“This is a victory for the Lords and their emphasis on protecting human rights.”

Campaigners had said legislation was needed because thousands of people suffered abuse and prejudice because they were considered low caste.

They said existing laws offered no protection and said caste divided society unfairly, with those at the bottom expected to do dirty, poorly paid work while also being expected to – and forced to – look up to and respect higher castes.

Those arguing for action said such discrimination was outlawed in India and should be banned in Britain too.

In the House of Commons debate earlier this month the government acknowledged the existence of caste discrimination in Britain.

But equalities minister Jo Swinson told MPs: “This is an issue that is contained in the Hindu and Sikh communities. That’s why we are working with those communities to address these problems.”

She warned of concern that legislation could increase stigma rather than ease the problem and said that was why the government favoured tackling caste prejudice through an education programme instead.

During the debate many MPs backed the protestors.

Conservative MP Richard Fuller said: “This is a straightforward issue, caste discrimination in the work place is wrong and the people who suffer from it deserve legal protection. That’s it. Beginning and end.”

Shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna said that caste discrimination was “completely unacceptable”.

The government has asked the Equality and Human Rights Commission to examine the nature of caste prejudice and harassment, and consider what other action might be helpful.

The commission will publish its findings later in 2013.

400,000 Untouchables in Britain – I had no idea that was the number, though presumably they are not expected to do the same filthy jobs in England as in India. Who paid their fares here?
Create a “multicultural” society, however, and you import multiple “cultures” – from female genital mutilation to child sacrifice. Wake up, Australia and New Zealand, forewarned is forearmed!

    • The__Bobster

You mean they are no jobs in the UK for dung ball rollers?

      • dukem1

There will be, probably sooner rather than later.
Great Britainstan, coming soon to a world near you.

Just a job the native Britons won’t do!

    • Mrfinoni

the have been numerous cases where children have survived abortion procedures and could have been viable if placed in an incubator, instead many have been left to die and others have been killed. what do you call the killing of a viable human outside the womb….’child sacrifice’

      • gemjunior

Exactly. Sacrificed to Lucifer on the alter of “rights” or “feminism”, “right to choose”, If it’s born alive it’s stabbed in the back of the head with a scissor. It doesn’t differ much from a violent stabbing in the back of the head. IMHO, I know it’s a contentious issue but it’s my own feeling on it.

      • Pat

You misunderstand this reference. ‘Child sacrifice’ has been found here among immigrant African cultures. Think black magic, etc. Wiki – Adam (murder victim).

  • The__Bobster

My solution is to treat all Punjabs the same way, like the unwanted garbage they are.

    • Michael_C_Scott

I was going to ask whether the new rule means that now all of them are legally dalits, but you’ve basically beaten me to it. Some of these jokes write themselves.

Shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna said that caste discrimination was “completely unacceptable”.

Well, Chuka, the obvious answer is for you to return home, where caste discrimination is now outlawed.

    • David Ashton

Oh, Bobster, you are dissing the next Prime Minister of “England”!

      • brengunn

Maybe not the next, but depressingly, he’s going to have his turn. It’s not even the fact he’s half black, he’s just such a slimy new labour politico. Turns my stomach.

      • Tom in MI

Dissing? Ebonics on an AmRen website?

Irony is wasted on some people.

The Brits have dug themselves a deep hole, but no deeper than ours. What will happen when Hindu values clash with Muslim values. If I remember my history, deadly violent clashes between these groups led to the establishment of Pakistan for Muslims. Both India and Pakistan have nuclear weapons because the deep seated hatred between these groups is of a genocidal nature.

Of course, here in the US at the local Wal-Mart near the university there are literally no whites ever to be seen in the always crowded aisles. A mix of mostly Hindus, with sprinklings of Pakis, other muzzies, squat monsters, and Bobster’s “mystery meat” assault the eyes, necessitating a good dose of eyebleach after a shopping trip. If the muzzie terrorists ever decide to target the Hindus, Wal-Mart could be a dangerous place to be. But repeat the mantra, “Diversity is good. Diversity is a strength.” Keep saying it right up until a bomb detonates at your feet.

Protecting Human Rights = Elite privileged Whites using their power to crush what little opportunity remains for other Whites.

I get the difference in class, I really do get it. But I don’t understand how these morons don’t get a clue from looking at what happened in South Africa to a white minority. These wealthy elites are truly so disgusting, so decadent and so depraved as to have no sense of nationhood or ANY racial solidarity whatsoever. It’s so bad – so ingrained a sense of SELF, that they are living only in the moment. Just pay me my fat salary (30 pieces of silver) to sell out my own people and I don’t care what happens after I’m dead. They don’t even care about their own children or grandchildren. It’s a whole new meaning of apathy.
I don’t think it’s ever been done before, has it? That a small group of rich people of one race kill off and genocide the same race and ultimately themselves. Hasn’t been done before. They have had quite a bit of goading on too. Prodding them along. But that’s a whole other story.

Why are Dalits living in Britain? What possible reason could there be for this?

Let India deal with its own people in its own way. It’s not the business of whites and they should not be in white countries.

    • dukem1

India is dealing with its own people. It’s exporting them.

      • GeneticsareDestiny

Yeah, the same way the Mexican government is exporting their poorest people to America.

None of this would be a problem if whites just said no.

        • fakeemail

Whites have said no for decades. It’s our politicians and business leaders who have said yes.

      • MBlanc46

Did they pick that up from the Mexicans, or was it the other way round?

    • jambi19

The whites in England dealt with this issue back in 1215 called the Magna Carta. Third world civilization is coming to a suburb near you.

  • IstvanIN

Great Britain soon to be the Ignited Kingdom.

    • David Ashton

It has been already, here and there.

  • MBlanc46

I guess they’ll see how that works.

  • Chris

I thought England had an official policy of multiculturalism. What did they think multiculturalism was?

  • gemjunior

They are all untouchable. Or should be, to white people loyal to each other. Laws pertaining to foreigners being made in Britain? This is being sneaked in hoping none of the brainwashed will notice because they are too busy mouthbreathing. Then slowly laws in one country will be made regarding laws in another, and voila – we’re all “global citizens”. Except us whites who will be stomped with the boot on our faces. Next they will make a law that Muslim men in Britain are allowed to rape white women because that’s how they roll. It’s going a little too far.

“400,000 Dalits live in the UK”.
Good God!, Who would have thought it!
Remember that the UK only has a population of 60 million or so, and that ‘Dalits’ are only a small proportion of one particular ethnic group ie Hindus from India.
So, the UK has enough of the ‘untouchable caste’ alone to fill a major city of the size of Bristol, Coventry or Leeds, for example.
    – In India this caste is relegated to the role of cleaning up garbage and human waste. No doubt in the UK the government gives them plum jobs and has them ruling over White Britons.

  • KenelmDigby

I can tell you one thing for certain.
In all my years in the UK I’ve never ever seen an Indian lift a trash-can or sweep the streets.
    – Whatever these Dalits are doing, it’s certainly not their hereditary occupation.

    • GeneticsareDestiny

They’re probably doing what most of the non-whites in Britain are doing: sponging off welfare. It’s even easier to do there than in America.

      • Will

And it is far easier than working for a living.
