KHOU-TV (Houston), January 6, 2009

[Community leaders] are calling for action after a recent study showed that the murder rate had fallen among white youth in Houston, but skyrocketed among young blacks. The study showed that figure was up 139 percent.

On Tuesday, Houston Ministers Against Crime and The Real Urban Ministry called on local government leaders to create a black on black crime commission.

The group wants Houston’s mayor, the district attorney, sheriff and police chief help form the commission.
