Bitter on Twitter: Wisconsin Authorities Probe Death Threats Against Gov. Walker

Critics of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker took to Twitter hours after he trounced his opponent in a recall election, threatening his life and catching the attention of authorities.

Several tweets explicitly called for the assassination of Walker, a Republican who angered public sector employees and labor unions by seeking to revamp the state’s beleaguered pension system.

“Somebody gone kill Scott Walker man,” read one tweet posted by user @PureeSCRUB.

“Someone from the NRA should shoot Scott Walker in the head, GTA-style,” said another user referring to violent video game Grand theft Auto.

“Scott walker will die within the next week ive already payed for the hit,” boasted a twitter user with the handle @caleb_white

The threats were strong enough for the Milwaukee Police Department and the state Department of Justice to launch investigations to determine how credible they were.

    Not surprised most death threats against Scott Walker are from blacks.  The public employee reform disproportionately affected black state and local employees, because heavily white cop and fire unions were exempt.

    The White investigators will gather the evidence, present the findings to the Mighty Whitey Guv’nah, and his thinking  will suddenly “evolve” into “We should let by gones be bygones and let sleeping dogs lie- to peruse this case right now will hurt race relations, delay racial reconciliation, and become another obstacle to undoing White privilege.”

      Hi mike,

      I think Jupiter7 is right on the money.  Not trying to spark a fight, I just think his remark about the veneer of civilization being remarkably thin is extremely accurate.

      I heard a phrase a long time ago… dunno if it was my Pa or not, but it sounds like him:

      “We are only 9 meals away from total anarchy.”

      Look what happened in NOLA after Katrina.  I expected whites to act civilized, despite being in dire straits, and the Uruk to, well, act like Uruk.

      And after folks missed enough meals to get truly hungry, Hell broke loose.

      The veneer of civilization IS remarkably thin, and Uruks need only the vaguest of excuses or perceived slights to go on a rampage.  Not electing their Messiah is the perfect excuse for them to rampage nationwide, wherever they are found in numbers (read that:  in cities).

      If I were a white living in a city with a sizeable Uruk population, I would make plans to either stand my ground, or have a Plan B set up to get out of the city pronto on Election Day.

     Almost all black riots are the direct or indirect consequence of a law enforcement action against a black.  I just can’t grok rioting over an election.  What might be possible is that if Obama loses, and during the aftermath of frustration, a cop has to use some sort of relatively inordinate force against a black, that might set cities up in flames.

      Also, it could well be that an Obama loss in November would be seen as an action by all of white America against the first black president, and by extension against all of black America.

      Or it might just serve as a good excuse to break things, loot stores,  scream, yell, jump up and down, fling poo, and otherwise play to their base instincts.

      Perhaps there won’t be riots if Obama loses, but we certainly can’t rule it out just because it would be a different scenario than the usual.

         I don’t know if I would call what they do after ball games a full blown riot.  I would call it more a collective group “C.O.” O stands for “out,” and I think you know what the “C” means.

        When I think of riots, I’m thinking multi-day events involving all sorts of violent crimes over a widespread area involving hundreds or thousands of combatants.

    both saying something hostile to Gov. Walker and hateful to NRA members
    at the same time.

    i was in wisconsin this weekend and heard an ad for the Wisconsin Broadcastors Association. they are having a job later this month and they strongly encourage women and minorities to attend. That means two things. first it means any woman or minoirty that is half way qualified and shows up is virtually guarenteed a job. it also means white men will have to compete with each other for the remaining jobs.
