And I thought the reason they don’t exercise is the lack of self-disciple.

My mistake.

Really? If they were not so particular about their hair, does this mean they would work out any more?

Most of the obese blacks I knew didn’t even WASH their hair on a regular basis. Sitting around, eating fast food every day, and having lots of kids seems to be the reason for the weight problems. Wanting straight hair is an offshoot of “white influence” so this is simply an attempt to blame weight problems on Whites. The more they evolve and gain power the more difficult it will be to blame all their problems on Whites. This is a real stretch and laughable. I’m looking forward to their explanation of their large families and how White people are responsible.

So black women are fat because they have to spend more time combing their hair? Well it’s certainly refreshing to hear some kind of different excuse. Wonder how long it’s going to take them to figure out how to blame it on Whitey?

Riiight. Certainly the black female obesity rates have nothing to due with excessive consumption of junk food while watching 40 hours of TV a week.

“The desire for straight hair…”!!!??
How stupid!! Why would this proud group want to look like the racial group they despise so vehemently? Does this report finally signal some common ground between the two groups? Are African Americans tacitly admiting that their hair just doesn’t ever look very good? Is that an admission of inferiority?? Why “straight” hair? Is it a tribal thing? We’ve put up wth gold teeth, “Afros”, “razored hair parts”, tattoos, strangly-piled ant hill-sized wigs, and for the males the current craze- the fierce looking Zulu warrior shaved head look.
Frankly, I think what African Americans do in trying to achieve the American American look is laughable. The real point of difference is inside the skull…..

Black people have lost a lot of their pride over the years. I remember in the 70s when having a big teased out afro was all the rage among black men and women. Then in the 80s it was jerry curls, big sculpted blobs of grease and then mohawks and cornrows in the 90s while in the 2000s we had cornrows, polyester wigs and weaves. You aren’t White and your hair wasn’t meant to be straight. Spending all that time and money on altering your natural appearance is foolish not to mention what all those chemicals are doing to your hair. Just be happy to be nappy.
