A flier urging people not to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day that was left on driveways in an Amawalk neighborhood yesterday is not a bias crime, police said today.

Citing crime statistics, the flier charged that King’s legacy was one of racial violence against whites, according to [state police Investigator Michael] Davis, who read the flier.
The flier was protected from rain by a plastic bag, and weighted down with a small rock, police said.

The investigation remains open, Davis said.
