Law Students Receive Affirmative Action Benefit

Since the University of Michigan affirmative action ruling, many schools re-examined their admissions policies, particularly the nation’s law schools.
The Ole Miss law school does not operate on a point or quota system, racial diversity is a top priority, according to law school administrators. Currently, a 73 percent tuition scholarship exists for black resident students admitted to the school. It is the only racial scholarship offered by the law school.
As a result of this scholarship, a resident black student paid about $2,044.04 last year, instead of the normal tuition rate of $7,570.50 a year other residents paid in tuition.
