Texas Mother, 29, Is Accused of Selling Her Children

Esmeralda Garza, 29, of Corpus Christi was arrested Friday and charged with the sale or purchase of a child

Authorities are accusing a Texas mother of selling her seven-year-old son and trying to sell her two young daughters.

Texas Department of Public Safety said Tuesday that 29-year-old Esmeralda Garza of Corpus Christi was arrested Friday.

DPS says that agents were executing a drug search warrant in Corpus Christi when they located a seven-year-old who had allegedly been sold and purchased, according to KRIS-TV.

Authorities say two girls, ages two and three, were in the process of being sold.

According to the Detroit Free Press, a woman said she bought the boy from Garza for $2,500.

A police report said: ‘Garza stated that she and her boyfriend owe drug money and gave her child to (the woman) who pay $500 cash and clear the owe debt and and extra $700 when the ‘custody paperwork’ was signed.’
