Pentagon Set to Resume Special Foreign-born Recruiting Program

Bryant Jordan, Military, December 26, 2014

After a months-long hiatus, a special immigration program designed to attract recruits with certain skills will be up and running once more in the next several weeks.

Attorney Margaret Stock, an immigration lawyer and retired Army lieutenant colonel, said on Monday that the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest, or MAVNI, program could resume before the end of the year, but certainly in January.

The program stalled in late September after President Obama’s executive order on immigration opened up MAVNI to undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children. According to Stock, the Defense Department is now on track to resume processing applications under MAVNI.

“DoD has set the overall fiscal year quota for MAVNI at 1,500, and the Army has been allocated 1,300 slots for now,” Stock wrote on the blog for Alaska-based law firm, Cascadia Cross Border Law Group. She does not know if the other services will utilize the program, noting that in 2013 the Air Force recruited only two people under MAVNI, both enlisted and brought in for their language skills.

The Navy recruited one doctor under the program in 2009, when it began.

Most MAVNI applicants have been doctors who enlist in the Army Reserve and receive an officer’s commission once they attained their U.S. citizenship. Foreign nationals who come in under MAVNI do not have to apply for a green card and their citizenship process is expedited.

Great idea! Reminds of when barbarians were recruited to serve in the Roman army just before the Fall of Rome.

I mean what could go wrong?

    • Sick of it

Some people use the lessons of history to destroy the vast mass of humanity who are ignorant of it. Reading can save your life.

      • The Worlds Scapegoat

The problem isn’t with not reading. It is with believing what someone else wrote, and not being able to determine what is real and what is a lie.

If you want to invade the world then be prepared to invite it.

      • Corpus_Innominata

Are you suggesting that Algeria “invited” France?

      Excellent comparison.

Those Barbarians were mostly Germanic tribes who quickly went through a learning curve and felt themselves equal or better than average Romans who discriminated against them because they were not Christians.

      • The Worlds Scapegoat

Yet two days ago (Thor’s Day) people celebrated the Winter-Solstice (rebirth of the sun) with a symbol of Germanic paganism in their living room (The Christmas Tree).

      • Sick of it

There were German Christians prior to the creation of the Roman Catholic Church.

Other than maybe translators, why would the Pentagon try to hire non US citizens for any positions, let alone specifically seek out those that are in the USA illegally?

    • Sick of it

Why would they train soldiers to fire upon pregnant white women?

      • Max

While we have all of the stink about “Ferguson”, “I caint breeve” etc. all of the “No Hesitation Targets” which I saw for sale depicted white people who commit the minority of violent crimes.

What should white people conclude from this?

        • Sick of it

The obvious, but apparently deducing the obvious requires a higher than average IQ. That has become abundantly clear to me. I can see a lot of these people appear shocked even as the government starts shooting them and their children without hesitation.

Just another step in transformation–remember that ‘other’ military Obama referred to during his 2008 campaign?

Oh Ya. Open borders, allow everyone in and then put them in our military. This is going to end well isn’t it.

  • DonReynolds

This is an outrage. If the US military has a need for translators (or any other special skill), it is not necessary that they be a part of the military. There are many thousands of civilian contractors who work directly for the military, providing services and support for the troops. I see no reason why they should be poured into a military uniform when they are not even Americans.

I do see many good reasons why a person who is in the country illegally and has committed crimes against the United States should magically be transformed into a member of our military. We have never been keen on allowing people with criminal records to enlist in the military. The fact that we have not bothered to bring them to justice, does not open the door to them serving in the military.

Immigration Lawyers should be shot and then the other lawyers should be shot.

These people need to read the history of Rome. Then hopefully they will stop making the same mistakes.

  • KenelmDigby

During the decline of the Roman Empire, the Romans did this.
Ethnic Italians more or less refused to serve in the army any longer – army life was unpleasant and arduous in the extreme.
To fill the ranks, soldiers were recruited from occupied peoples or ‘federated tribes’.
In time, the vast bulk of the army was non-Italian. It didn’t take too long for the foreign soldiers to realise that once you control of the army you have control of the empire.

    • The Worlds Scapegoat

The Ethnic Italians were smarter than White Ethnic Americans or Europeans (ie Britains). Whites will fight and die to give people who hate them a better life. I guess stupid life forms were meant to die off and be replaced.

Darn skippy, not every man has the big gun it takes to serve in the Field Artillery. 🙂

Wonder what our forefathers would have done with all the traitors now in the US who are using every means to destroy our nation?

      Lynching.

  • LackawannaErie

As the military and police are increasingly staffed by non-Europeans, expect these institutions to lose the current favor they have with European Americans.

  • Max

Programs like this are beneficial to our billionaire collectivist rulers once they decide to turn the guns on native U.S. citizens.

  • Epiminondas

Our Republic is sliding toward tyranny. It won’t be long now. All it will take is the right black swan event and the cosmopolitan oligarchs will throw off the disguise. They will no longer need it.
