Government Shutdown Due to the Color of Obama’s Skin, Suggests Ivy League Prof in Twitter Rant

Timothy Dionisopoulos, Campus Reform, October 1, 2013

The government shutdown is partly due to President Obama’s race, University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) associate professor Anthea Butler suggested in a Twitter tirade on Monday night.

The last government shutdown took place under the “fake black president Clinton” but now they have a “real black president to mess with,” tweeted Butler.

“you’d have to be blind to think race does not play into this stupidity,” she continued, responding to a separate tweet that inferred the partisan climate was due to both Clinton and Obama being Democrats.

Butler began the rant with a modified tweet at around 9:22 p.m. EDT, writing that if the “Republicans would quit trying to regulate vaginas they could practice governance.”

{snip}

Moving on, Butler then responded to someone on Twitter who was asking how the government shutdown could happen by tweeting: “dumbasses.”

Around 1 a.m., on Tuesday, Butler retweeted a statement to U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner telling him he was “drunk” and should “go home.”

{snip}

Butler was recently the center of national media storm this summer after writing a blog-post claiming the verdict in the Trayvon Martin trial was proof that God was a ‘white racist.’

Only an ivory tower PhD could exhibit such appalling logic and bad taste.

A prof of Religious Studies said that God is a white racist? Dang.

      • Thor Bonham

I’m certainly glad she feels that way I don’t want to run into that when I get up there ..
Being now that God is a white racist, she definitely doesn’t want to go to heaven now does she ? Course, blacks usually always want to follow whites around for some unknown reason, even if they are racists ..

    • Thor Bonham

What does Africana Studies actually mean ? I mean, they (Africans) have no history that I know of ..

      • Boris McGuffin

They do too have a history. And a proud one at that.

The first semester of a proper African Studies program will typically discuss their innovations regarding the mathematical ratios for proper placement of a bone through the nose, as well as for wedging a saucer in your bottom lip. From their the move on to the exciting subject of female castration and rape.

        Don’t discount their achievements.

Rather than to respond to such silly “charges” with the usual knee-jerk denials, why don’t White people just admit that few White presidents would screw things up as badly as Obama has, and therefore, the failure of Government to function is – at least in part part – “racial”. The “Blacks” seem instinctively to know this. Shouldn’t the White community swallow its pride and finally admit that all peoples are not equal in their abilities?

Watch c-span call-in shows. Blacks believe that Obama was elected as a dictator. They believe he should be setting the rules without question or opposition. Questioning Obama amounts to a great act of disrespect against our illustrious, all-powerful, all-knowing, great leader. It really is frightening to see blacks defining government as they believe it is or supposed to be; winner take all, no mercy to the enemy party.

    • David Ashton

Just like the tribal African view.

          • FransSusan

You have a good point, Raised. Let me play devil’s advocate: Did we have a choice? Those of us who were young in the 60s saw it happening but what could we do. It was literally forced on an unsuspecting, white, merit-based society. And my generation didn’t know any better. I got my undergraduate degree in the late 60s, having never gone to school with a negro. The “conquering” was forced on us by the corrupt government just as it is today. I guess it sounded OK at first—thinking that the concept of civil rights meant nothing more than everyone would have the same OPPORTUNITY to strive for success in life. That sounded fair, maybe….if we gave it any thought at all. Who knew that the idea of merit & earning was going to be thrown out where blacks are concerned! And at that time, people of my generation didn’t know how vicious, criminal, stupid, violent, vengeful, & just dumb the black race really is, because we’d never spent any time around blacks. We grew up in a segregated world. And what I didn’t realize was that the black race was being given FAR more than an opportunity; they were being given EVERYTHING and didn’t have to earn/work for/strive for anything. Now ‘civil rights’ is a political tool for the corrupt government, and I don’t think there’s really much we can do about our situation. We’re definitely conquered! Short of a revolution, we’re stuck with these useless pukes! (The politicians as well as the negroes.)

    • Romulus

Morons being led by a moron. Western heritage was never meant to be applied to certain groups.

    • Boris McGuffin

That’s racist! You seem to be implying that most blacks do not understand how our government is supposed to operate? That can’t be true. They are just as smart and well-informed as anyone else.

I myself decided to take a survey to prove you wrong. I hired 30 heavily armed mercenaries to accompany me in a Sherman tank to a black neighborhood, and when I asked the various vibrant passersby to name the three branches of the federal government, some were in fact able to list them correctly as…

De Execativ, de Legislatement, and dose crackas who be all old and sh*t.

Unfortunately my survey ended a little early, as there was an altercation of sorts between two community leaders. Someone accidentally got hurt, and people kept yelling, “Call de amberlamps!”

      • Derp

        “Call de amberlamps!”

Thanks for the laugh! I’ll have to remember that one.

      • According to P.J. O’Rourke, the three branches of federal government are: money, television and bulls***.

  • bigone4u

When I first began to think that my future would encompass becoming a professor, my own profs inspired me with their keen minds and devotion to truth. They had political philosophies, it was true, but they were kept out of the classroom and limited to bull sessions, with the exception of a truly nutty mixed race Cuban prof I took one class from.

By the end of my career in higher ed this type of woman had become all too common. Her life revolves 24/7 around her imagined racism and HOW TO GET BACK AT WHITEY. She and her ilk are a DISEASE that needs to be wiped out. Until that day, higher ed is an infection passed on to weak minded, unsophisticated youths, paid for with our tax dollars. It can be stopped when state legislators and alumni donors cut off the money. Cut off the money and the beast stops breathing. NEVER donate to higher ed without huge strings attached to your donation.

I considered getting an MA in English or Classical Lit or something like that after I got my BA in the 1980’s. I was on the brink of applying but this was around the time when the multi-culti feminist powers were taking total control of English and lit programs around the country. I knew a master’s in English was of questionable and limited economic value to begin with but facing up to how warped literature studies were becoming is what really convinced me to skip it.

Many people say lit and liberal arts are all bulls–t anyway but the Frankfurt school creeps were smart to go after them. Literature and associated studies are the storehouse of the culture. The backbone. Hawthorne, Melville, Emerson, etc., etc. The left infiltrated and infected those programs of study that implant the culture into the youngest generations and they have successfully turned much of America’s culture to their destructive ends. The culture was weekly and poorly cared for and defended by everyone to the right of Derrick Bell.

They got away with it partly because people considered much of what they were doing to be ridiculous or trivial (and it often was) but they understood that they could destroy and reprogram the culture.

Doesn’t matter what she says. All that matters is that she says it and gets publicity for it.

The “it” is systemic, institutional, and structural anti white hatred, which is the most powerful global trend going.

Every time she spews her hatred for the White community, Whites get the message that to argue against her or to complain will just get them deemed “racist!”

Whites gave up in 1954. They didn’t? Look around.

Well, apparently God is a racist, although I’m not sure if He’s a European or Asian one. After all, He allowed different races to evolve, and put blacks at the bottom.

As for the scholar in question, she is by her own description, “Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Africana Studies”. Her website is antheabutler dot com. Go there and you can find an article titled, “Setbacks and Struggles – Can’t nobody turn us around.” The article is the expected anti-Zimmerman rant but what impresses me is what passes for proper grammar among scholars these days. If any university comes around asking me for a donation I’ll just sit down and laugh hysterically.

    • [Guest]

In the old days, people who habitually made basic mistakes in writing (formerly called “literacy errors”) were said to be illiterate. By that standard, this proud black woman is illiterate. Here’s an excerpt from the book blurb you mentioned:

“…Setbacks and struggles will come, but they can not turn ” The long arc of justice” as MLK put it, around.”

I also notice that the professorial Ms. Anthea is an expert on “the politics of black hair” and has held a symposium on that topic at the University of Pennsylvania. The video on YouTube is a fine example of black pathology. If this country were in its right mind, the interviews with hair-salon owner Anu Prestonia and Dr. Anthea’s stylist, Abenaa Timazee, and would be the stuff of satire.

Just what is Obama’s race? She seems to think he is black, but his mother is as white as they come. Since an offspring takes an average of 60 percent of the genetic material from the female side, that would mean that Obama is more white than black. He was raised by his (both white) grandparents and can only recall meeting his black father a couple of times. Growing up in Hawaii, the only blacks he saw were sailors and marines on leave, or maybe on the television. His black heritage is none of the black experience of the vast majority of black Americans. His Kenyan father lived his life under British rule and had none of the legacy of slavery….that seems to motivate this “professor”. Amazing what a small amount of affirmative action can do to help the weak minded and the mediocre. Unfortunately, they take the place of those more qualified and better prepared to do the work.

Go to YouTube and enter the following title to view a video that shows part of a symposium the scholarly Dr. Anthea Butler conducted for the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Africana Studies:

“The Politics of Black Women’s Hair FEAT. Dr Anthea Butler, Afrobella, Abenaa, Landra, Glenford Nunez”

Sadly, this is NOT satire. It’s academia, black-style.

  • Probably every one, 99.9%.

Another fine example of African intellect.

Shame requires a modicum of intellect. You overestimate the half-Bantu-in-Chief.

    G-d is a racist? Nice & classy.
    ~
On a side note, the word racist has effectively lost all meaning.

    • Jack Burton

God created the races, racial division, so therefore He is indeed a racist.

  • AndrewInterrupted

Can we safely say that was mail order UDC PhD?

  • Thor Bonham

And THIS is what passes as a teacher for our children ? Can you imagine the backlash if a white person ( not even a professor, just a simple whitey) said something even remotely close to this ? Amazing ..

  • Thor Bonham

    ALL ..

  • Spartacus

No. Those people you’re talking about aren’t White, they can only pass as such to the uninformed .

From experience, around half the female professors in social science fields are lesbians. Many are just removed from reality as everything is handed to them from emotional appeals.

If academic freedom is to be protected, it is important that
ideologues be prevented as much as possible from abusing it in order to spread distortions or outright disinformation intended to achieve some political purpose. … Academic freedom does not mean freedom to misrepresent, to distort or to talk nonsense to students while enjoying security against outside criticism. Faculty members should not feel free to give students any version of
the facts that those faculty members are unable or unwilling to defend in a debate with people better qualified than students
are to detect errors, and if necessary to expose falsehoods.

“ABUSE OF ACADEMIC FREEDOM: WHAT SHOULD BE DONE?” by Kenneth H.W. Hilborn

Presented at the Society for Academic Freedom and Scholarship [SAFS] Annual General Meeting (May, 2004), in a symposium entitled: “Limits to Academic Freedom”.

If you can spell your own name, you can probably beat this sow.

Government shut down as Pat Buchanan points out, is all one Barry and Harry who ignore the Republican CR, and want Obummercare to pass in its current, pristine format.

  • If God is in fact a white racist, this nicely explains why He in His Infinite Wisdom made blacks so stupid and ugly.

  • Bleau Gumms

That must mean the other 16 times it has happened since 1976 was for the same reason!
Why do they hate Whites so much?!

    • Ella

They hate Whites when we begin to refuse the ridiculously generous welfare. As good parents, when we say “no” to our children, we can be dearly hated in the moment. “No” is a powerful word.

    • Boris McGuffin

Why do they hate Whites so much?

      Envy combined with shame.

      • texasoysterman

I doubt they feel any shame.

  • Bleau Gumms

    It is nearing it’s endpoint.

Between President Douche-bag, Michelle Antoinette, and Rev. Trayvon Martin Luther King Erasmus Junior III, the dam of political correctness has finally developed a fissure.

  • FransSusan

You’d have to go way back, waaaay back, decades, to know higher ed when it was truly a real education with professors with integrity and no political correctness ruling everything. After the 60s civil rights/affirmative action everything everywhere began to fall apart. Affirmative action and political correctness have ruined everything. I received my undergraduate degree in the late 60s and that was about the end-times of a real college education.

      And just as useful.

It used to be that the measure of a person’s intellect was inherent to what they thought worthy of broaching as conversation. The stupid gossiped about other people, the average discussed events, the brilliant posed new ideas.
The exact quote escapes me but it was often attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt and Hyman Rickover.
It strikes me that Twitter and Facebook and the like are the next step in the dumbing down of society because it allows you to present subjects to a captive audience at a level of sophistication which they can appreciate and then turn the subject from ‘opinion’ to ad hominem smackdown as soon as someone tries to elevate the conversation by daring to argue against it.
It is a confirmation bias with the added effect of bandwagon popularity (driving ego to ‘win’ rather than to discourse) behind it and
In this, it appears that blacks believe that the entire world is a stage for their aggressiveness and so long as they act the part of a dominantly assertive ‘leader’, they are not required to be _innovators of ideas_ at all.
As such, let me try and raise the level of this beyond laughter and ask the obvious: What if she’s right? What if race is an element in being a conservative and it’s only the /threshold/ beyond which ‘even a Republican’ will not go in signing ever more generations over to Quantitative Easing, Socialized Welfare Medicine and the destruction of our Armed Forces on the eve of Debts Being Called In?
Is that a bad thing? How can we swing that? What should be our response?
If it’s not something that can be helped (country divided behind ‘genetic politics’ as flagrant largesse vs. conservative thinking), maybe it is something that should be exacerbated to the nth degree.
Obviously, a seated President, no matter his skin color, is responsible to maintain a give:take dialogue with -all- parties to get the job done. But what if, at this critical point in our history, having been given such an opportunity as this, it is better not to reconcile and rapproach but to _enforce_ the racial dividing line, making it obvious to all?
Given that divide et impera essentially means the more parties you have, the more fragile the glue of mutualism of self-interest tends to exclude allies rather then help them, what happened if Republicans became the White Party by default? Rather than forcing us to further fractionalized the authority of the conservative right along lines of Tea, AFP, ACP, IAP, etc. could we somehow Mercutio this as our fight via the racial abuse of a seated Representative as ‘throw down’ on blacks to put up or shut up demonstrate their ideas?
Coopting a party for reasons of racial insult as it were, can then be allied to “And what did you really mean then?” implied competency issues that again, underlines the showmanship over substance.
If not, can we use this a wedge to begin to cut the GOP away from their herd-think in preparation for a genuine ‘Well, you wanted it, it’s your’s, we’re leaving this Union.’ narrowed position?
It seems to me that we either have to drive the dialogue by intimidating fools. Or use their own divisiveness to justify leaving them to it and forcing a collapse.
In this, the lesson here is control. If you don’t lose control when you call this woman out, then all her yammering becomes obvious as just that. Twitter and FB have no place in contemporary political discussions because leadership can never be about letting our enemies, at home and abroad, know our real position.
But as forums for the simple minded to be intimidated when ‘their champion’ makes a fool of themselves, they may well have a useful function.

Who wants to take bets as to whether Anthea Butler (who looks like Rachel Jeantel 20 years from now) has an IQ above 90?

I’m estimating maybe 90 at the most. I’m in a generous mood today.

  • Boris McGuffin

    Hot damn! Too funny!

  • Rocky Mountain

If God is a white racist then I think the verdict is in.
