The Detroit City Council on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution calling for a federal investigation to see whether civil rights charges are warranted against George Zimmerman, who was acquitted July 13 of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges in the killing of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

The resolution, sponsored by Councilwoman JoAnn Watson, sparked a discussion over the need for city leaders and others to focus more on violence in Detroit.

“We need to have that same level of outrage with respect to the black-on-black crime that takes place in our community,” Councilman Kenneth Cockrel Jr. said. “How many people were shot—maybe even shot and killed this past weekend in the city—mostly likely by folks who look just like them?”

Blacks can ruin cities but they cannot run them.

    >>>…folks who look just like them…

There is much more to race than appearances, Mr. Cockrel.

  • Puggg

They’re bankrupt. Can they afford the ink and paper to print this resolution? Which in turn won’t be worth said ink and paper.

    • Sick of it

I’m sure they can, it will just take a little more from the pension fund.

  • ncpride

Wow. Considering the extent of their problems,THIS is what they’re discussing? Incredible, especially since no one gives two cents what they think.

  • Creepy as a cracker!

For a city that can not manage its own affairs and has one of the highest crime rates in the nation, irony!

    • Frans

Just an example of low I. Q. thinking. No common sense, no logic, no critical thinking skills.

  • MBlanc46

Well, that settles it then. I’m sure that the entire world has been waiting for the Detroit City Council to weigh in before making up their minds about the Zimmerman case.

  • Luca

Detroit is the canary in the coal mine mainly because it is run by the worst sort of liberals, black liberals. Other major liberal governments will follow suit although they may be more clever at prolonging the day of reckoning.

Unconscionable spending on employee/retiree benefits, mismanagement of funds, expensive and frivolous feel-good programs related to social engineering agendas, bureaucracy, backroom deals, caving in to every abusive union whim, incompetence, waste, fraud, abuse, corruption, inefficiency and cronyism are but a few of the main problems of a liberal run entity.

The can has been kicked to the end of the road.

    • Jack Burton

Black liberals are really a misnomer. Is there black liberalism in Africa? No. They only use liberalism to achieve benefits and an advantage over Whites in the West. Left to themselves they are no where near liberal.

      • Luca

Left to themselves they are no where near civilized.

  • WmarkW

This is the first step toward wanting hate crime prosecutions for: moving out of the city, trying to collect payments on municipal bonds, avoiding neighborhoods at night….

    • Sick of it

Refusing to date people because of how they look…

  • JohnEngelman

“We need to have that same level of outrage with respect to the black-on-black crime that takes place in our community,” Councilman Kenneth Cockrel Jr. said. “How many people were shot—maybe even shot and killed this past weekend in the city—mostly likely by folks who look just like them?”

    – Joe Guillen, Detroit Free Press, July 23, 2013

That is the real problem. Young men who resemble Trayvon Martin are more of a threat to blacks than young men who resemble George Zimmerman.

    • Jack Burton

I wonder if Obama will identify with the murderous thugs… “he could be my son, that was me 35 years ago!”

  • Nick Gherz

Councilman Kenneth Cockrel Jr. is exercising black privilege:

    He wants Zimmerman prosecuted.
Laments about the “lack of outrage” about black on black violence.
Proposes absolutely nothing of value to combat black on black violence.

He doesn’t hate the fact that blacks are victims of violence.
What he really hates is white assailants.

Another phony baloney black “leader” who deserves the deplorable conditions of his city.

  • disqus_Xz3UA6obwj

Martin called Zimmerman a cracker just moments before beating him and they want Zimmerman investigated for civil rights violations? Martin was killed during the commission of a hate crime and those black clowns are too stupid (or dishonest) to admit it.

    • Ed_NY

      Justice has been served!

    • Jack Burton

The reality is, both Jeantel, the darling of the media who they think is smart, and Martin conspired against Zimmerman. Jeantel may have instigated the whole thing, calling him creepy, meaning some kind of perverted homosexual and a cracker, their false perception that Zimmerman is White.

      • Nathanwartooth

I have no doubt in my mind that if we could hear that phone call, Jeantel was encouraging him to attack Zimmerman.

She even tried to justify her actions by saying that if a kid thinks that a “pervert” is following them they need to do something. They can’t just stand there.

Apparently their solution wasn’t Trayvon heading home, but was to attack Zimmerman.

  • Michelle

How do we get a white racist as president? After obama, the most racist president in American history,we Need a white non-liberal, president to fix the mess he made. Blacks aren’t suppose to have privilege over us, sometimes i feel like im in the twilight zone. Please will some good, black hating white man please run for presidency, I don’t care if you quadruple taxes, just please take away this bullshit black privilege..Please!!!

  • Jefferson

Detroit has a higher percentage of Blacks than Johannesburg, South Africa. Detroit is 83 percent Black, while Johannesburg is 73 percent Black.

Do you guys realize I’m Eastern European, I’ve never even visited an Anglo country, but my English is better than that of 90% of all dark-skins born in the US ?

    • Ed_NY

I have noticed that. Can you speak English as well as you write?

      • Spartacus

Yes I can, though I have been told by some that I have a heavy accent.

        • Ed_NY

I have met and dealt with many Europeans through my former business and most spoke 2 or more languages. Very impressive.

          • Spartacus

Dunno about the rest of Europe, but here in Romania most people I know speak at least 2 foreign languages, usually English being one of them, the other a latin language, either French, Italian or Spanish.

          • Romulus

Being that romania means little ROME, that isnt a surprise.
Is the Hagia sophia still a christian church? It is one of the most beautiful structures in all christendom.

          • Spartacus

The Hagia Sofia is in Constantinopole, currently Istanbul, converted in a mosque…

And Romania doesn’t mean little Rome, it’s derived from the word “Romanus” which literally translates to “Citizen of Rome”.

          • Romulus

I knew where it was located, but wasn’t sure of the translation. Thank you for the correction. I deeply saddened by it’s conversion. I would’ve like to have visited it.

          • Spartacus

It’s still there, just with minarets around it, so you can still visit it if you don’t mind an idiot dark-skin yelling in your ears, calling his fellow dark-skins for their regular floor-licking…

          • It’s not a mosque anymore. Now it is a museum.

          • Spartacus

Didn’t know that, I thought they just kept it as a mosque.

          • Ed_NY

My experience is that Western Europeans speak fantastic English, many sound as if they are native to the US. Eastern Europeans usually speak fairly good English with heavy accents or improper pronunciation. This is not meant to be a negative reflection upon Eastern Europeans, it just reflects almost 70 years of American cultural influences in Western Europe. I met an English teacher from Bulgaria, though her grammar was correct, her accent was very heavy and her pronunciation of many words made it difficult to understand.

    • Sick of it

You’ll find similar groups in other western nations speaking a pidgin form of the local language. It’s not limited to those in America. The pattern is obvious and the people only have one common factor which will never be honestly discussed, despite Obama’s prattling.

“Detroit Council Supports Calls for Federal Investigation of Possible Civil Rights Charges Against George Zimmerman”

Well, since they called for it, I guess there is no other alternative than to comply.
With the only mundane matter of concentrating on their city which has financially imploded, unable to render police and emergency services, it’s just logical to expect that they would direct their attention elsewhere, since their decision involves a matter that is of vital importance to them and their well-being, much more so than a bankrupt city.

If they fail to get GZ charged with a civil violation, what are the chances they can join the other elements in their black intelligentsia who are sitting in the hallway in Tallahassee until the Florida legislature reverses stand-your-ground laws that are supported by the vast majority of people across the country?

After they celebrate their victories on what they’re fighting for, is there any chance those in the hallway can stay there, while the council in Detroit advocates loading up the black population of Africa and shipping them over here?

And……please….don’t anybody make them mad. They might issue an edict that will see all of us driven to extinction.

    • Sick of it

Who needs an edict when things are trending in that direction already.

  • This whole Zimmerman/Martin affair is doing black credibility no favors period, at least in the eyes of Whites who bother to do the minimal amount of research on this case.

It’s the flip side of the similar OJ Simpson coin.

Everyone knew OJ was guilty, but the verdict was still one of innocence.
Black response=celebration as race trumped justice.

Conversely Zimmerman is innocent and was rightfully found innocent.
Black response=condemnation as justice trumped race.

At what point does “we all act equally, we just treated equally” promise kick in?

And trying to prosecute Zimmerman with civil rights/hate crime laws?
Don’t they know that he had a black prom date, campaigned for Obama, has had black relatives live with him, started a business with a black friend, and helped collect money for a black homeless crime victim.

If they can do Zimmerman over as a racist, they surely can do over any of us.
    This is an unjust power.

    • Ed_NY

I agree, to prosecute based on political or racial views, regardless of the circumstances is very alarming! Let’s hope we do not have to defend ourselves from one of these savages.

    • MrGJG

But we really are racists…well their definition of it anyway.

  • Sqeptique

“We need to have that same level of outrage with respect to the black-on-black crime that takes place in our community.”

How about a little outrage with respect to black-on-white crime?! Did that ever cross the minds of these Bantu councilmen?

    • MrGJG

It’s like white people getting murdered doesn’t even count to these scum-bags.
Their either concerned with whites killing blacks (which is about as common as Haleys comet) or blacks killing blacks.
The reality is, the majority of black on black crime is just one low-life killing another low-life.

    • Ed_NY

Bill O’Reilly has been discussing black on black crime the past few nights but no mention of black on White crime. I guess that is a taboo subject.

    • Spartacus

      Bantus have no mind.

  • biscuits&gravy

I’m pretty sure Detroit has bigger fish to fry at the moment.

    • Jefferson

I wish we could sell Detroit off to Canada. Whites in Canada are big time liberal lovers of vibrant diversity. They would no doubt embrace the Bantus of Detroit as new Canadian citizens.

      • Ed_NY

Sell Detroit to Canada? Heck, I would pay Canada to take it off of our hands.

  • Evette Coutier

You’d think the Detroit City Counsel might have more pressing issues to worry about. Let’s see. Do we butt into an already settled legal matter in the state of Florida or do we deal with our bankruptcy, crime, decaying infrastructure, governmental corruption, teen pregnancy, unemployment, poverty, failed education system, homeless, gangs, and drugs. Gee, I think I’ll choose..duh…the anti-white story.

  • A Freespeechzone

Remember, these are ‘Holder’s People’….who had a hand in the bankruptcy. Inept, incompetent, low IQ and most importantly, too effing stupid to understand that even with the help of Holder’s DOJ in the original trial, there was NO EVIDENCE.

    Detroit….things look different here.

  • What right does DeToilet have to intervene in Florida’s legal system?

More and more it looks like the only response is 3 oh 8.

  • negrolocaust

the one smart thing zimmer did was go for a kill shot. for if he had just wounded angry trayvon , angry trayvon would have lied on the stand and zimmer may have been convicted. the strange thing about zimmer is he is a registered dem. he likely voted for obama. so the very crap that he voted for railroaded him. very strange. i dont think we have heard the last of zimmer. if he was weak minded enough to be a dem i doubt he learned anything from this. he could wind up being a self-hating liberal. he also wrote hispanic on his voter form so i find it hard to support him 100 percent.

    • I don’t think Zim had the time to call the shot. He just got lucky. The autopsy report says the bullet chopped through the right ventricle of the heart.

  • 1proactive2

Imagine a group of people making policy who have the academic history and emotional maturity level on par with adolescents. You’ve just summed up the Detroit city council.

I’ve lived around and in Detroit for many years, and their chronic peacock posturing and grossly misplace priorities are something right out a bad sitcom. Area residents are desensitized to it due to saturation via the local news, and I can only imagine how an adult outsider reacts to the antics of the so-called “leaders” of the third world shooting gallery that is Detroit.

  • These folks can’t run a city, but they think they’re qualified to oversee Justice Department operations?

I’m hoping that they next weigh in on how a permanent, manned colony on the moon could best be established.

  • KenelmDigby

That model of law enforcement and low murder rates, Detroit, wishes to pontificate about public safety.

  • JackKrak

Must be election time coming up for someone on the council.

  • HamletsGhost

Does the city council even have any power anymore? I thought the city was being run by a manager appointed by the governor to manage the city’s bankruptcy. It seems that the day-to-day business of running the city has been taken out of their incompetent hands.

Since they have nothing to do anymore, I’m guessing they’re passing the time by passing pointless resolutions like this. My only question for Kevin Orr, the appointed city manager is, do these useless eaters still draw a salary from the city purse? If so, it seems like a no-brainer way to cut unnecessary expenses.

  • YourMOMA

Federal Government needs to investigate every black politician in this country. I’m tired of hearing about blacks in government positions taking advantage of individual taxpayers and corporations by racketeering, fraud, and other crimes.

The only reason blacks run for offices is to security a spot to make money. They don’t care about issues, people, social system, government dis-functionality; only money is what they’re in for.

    • Frans

Furthermore, they’re not smart enough to even understand the issues!

  • Sounds good. We could send them all that great big pile of money we have been unfairly saving for ourselves. What? Nothing there to spend it on? Not our problem!

  • Puggg

Because he was an elected Republican Congressman from Florida for a few terms. Basically his most sterling accomplishment while in office was depositing his paychecks into his bank account.
