Oprah Coming to DC for Swearing-In

Oprah Winfrey, who gave President-elect Barack Obama a crucial boost during the early primaries, is celebrating his Inauguration by bringing her powerhouse television show to Washington for the week.

During Obama’s acceptance speech the night he won, tears streamed down Winfrey’s cheeks as she leaned on an Obama campaign worker.

“There are not even words to talk about what this night means,” Winfrey told Maria Menounos of “Access Hollywood” that night. “Everybody keeps using the word ‘historic.’ There’s never been a night like this on the planet Earth. . . . Nothing can compare to this.”
