Billboard Warns Businesses Not to Hire Illegal Immigrants

WKRC (Cincinnati), April 28, 2006

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones is putting up a billboard Friday warning business owners not to get mixed up with illegal immigrants.

The billboard is going up on southbound I-75 near Ohio 129, or the Michael Fox Highway, just north of West Chester. The move comes a day after Jones followed through on his promise to round up undocumented workers. Ten so-called “criminal aliens” were arrested on outstanding warrants ranging from domestic violence to sex crimes. They all face deportation hearings.

On Monday, immigrant protests are planned across the United States. Activists are urging immigrants to skip work, avoid spending money, and march in the streets to demonstrate their importance to the US economy. The protests come as US lawmakers debate a wide variety of proposed legislation.
