CHICAGO—Four Chicago police officers and four other people have been arrested and charged with stealing money, guns and drugs from drug dealers on the city’s south side.

A criminal complaint charged Chicago Police Officers Broderick Jones, 34, Corey Flagg, 34, Darek Haynes, 35, and Eural Black, 41, with conspiracy to possess and distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine.

Authorities said Jones, along with the others, would stop suspected drug dealers, search their cars and houses for illegal drugs, money and weapons, and use them for their own benefit. The complaint alleged the officers were involved in narcotics trafficking on the south side from July to December 2004 that included them obtaining and attempting to obtain drugs and money from various drug dealers through robbery or extortion.
