The Regime Retaliates

Vincent James, American Renaissance, January 18, 2021

On January 6th, tens of thousands of President Trump’s supporters turned out to the nation’s capital to express discontent with the way the US election was held. Tens of thousands turned out peacefully to protest on two prior occasions in November and December, but January 6th was different. Trump supporters had finally had enough.

January 6th was a small expression of what disenfranchised Americans are feeling, but now the system is striking back. It is showing the Trump movement, which had embarrassed it many times since the 2016 primaries, who is boss.

The tech oligarchs, big corporations, big banks, NGOs, and federal enforcement agencies are all hands-on-deck in the crackdown. The American regime has suddenly learned the word “riot,” after ignoring months of violent demonstrations, looting, and arson by Black Lives Matter. Those at the top have banned the President of the United States from Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and even Spotify and TikTok.

However, as political editor of ABC News recently put it, “getting rid of Trump is the easy part. Cleansing the movement he commands, or getting rid of what he represents to so many Americans, is going to be something else.” Almost every prominent voice considered to be a Trump loyalist is being wiped from every platform.

I was one of those voices.

After years of bans from YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, PayPal, Venmo, Airbnb, Uber, CashApp, I am now feeling the wrath from more obscure platforms.

For several years, DLive has been portrayed as a “free speech” alternative to Twitch and YouTube. For over a year, it let me broadcast from its platform without incident, warning, or any problem at all. That was until the events of January 6th. I wasn’t inside the Capitol; I was hundreds of yards away, but that does not matter. If you are effective, charismatic, conservative, and feared by the regime, it will remove you.

In 2003, I started working for an ad agency as a sales representative. In 2017, I decided to run my show on the side. I was prudent, knowing that the internet was forever, but there was a problem. I was effective, and I told the truth. Not long after I started broadcasting, a writer who had a grudge against me started passing around a scurrilous article from the OC Weekly, based in Orange County, California. The local paper did not like the fact that I could live-stream or post a video to Facebook debunking its coverage and get more viewers than it could. I was called in to the Human Resources department and let go.

I have three children but became effectively unemployable because of what would turn up in an internet search. I had to do something.

For a year, DLive was my home. The superchat feature let me support my family while telling the truth. I have received thousands of emails and messages from people I have reached, and the message is almost always the same: “You woke me up.”

And that is why I had to go.

It’s hard to create your own platform. Parler created its own platform as an alternative to Twitter. Just days after the events at the Capitol and President Trump’s Twitter ban, Parler was not only banned from the Apple app store and the Google Play store, but from its webhost. If Parler ever does find a new host, it will have a problem with getting both a domain registrar and a payment processor. Those who are cracking down the hardest are not the federal government. It is the billionaire class.

Overreach was inevitable. Millions of people are beginning to recognize what many of us have been saying for years. An international spotlight has been shined on tech censorship and monopolies. A simultaneous and widespread digital crackdown will lead to unintended results that will work in favor of populists worldwide. Even as conservatives are being herded into dark corners of the internet, the nationalist-populist message is still reaching more people.

Alternative sites such as Gab and Telegram, which just weeks ago were considered “fringe,” are now flooded with center-right and libertarian users who will now be our digital neighbors. They are looking for answers and a way to express themselves. The Republican Party may have been fatally wounded. Things we thought would take years have happened overnight. This opens new opportunities for us.
