A second black Harvard professor accused the Cambridge police of racism yesterday in wrongfully arresting him outside his home nearly three years ago.
S. Allen Counter, a prominent Harvard Medical School professor and head of the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations, spoke about his arrest on assault and battery charges in an editorial published yesterday with The Bay State Banner. The disclosure follows last month’s high-profile arrest of renowned African-American scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr.
Counter’s attorney, Ozell Hudson Jr., told the Globe yesterday that Counter is considering his legal options over the manner he says he was treated after he complied with a request to step outside his house in December 2006 when police arrived to investigate a call by his former wife. She reported to police that Counter had tried to push their teenage daughter out of a moving car during an argument.
Counter said he had not previously publicized the arrest because he feared that police would harass him and his family. But he told Harvard colleagues about the incident and said he felt he had been mistreated because he is black. Counter said he was not told why police were at his home nor why he was being arrested.
In recent years, he said, it has become a common belief among the black community at Harvard that they should stay put when police come to the door.
“The word around Harvard is never step outside your house with these guys,” Counter said in a phone interview. “We advise people not to step out. You call an attorney and stay in your house.”

It is unclear whether Counter’s experience factored into Gates’ decision to initially remain inside his home during his run-in with Crowley.
“I was polite, and yet police lied and said I was loud, just as they did with Professor Gates,” Counter said yesterday.
Counter collapsed at the police station because of a heart condition and was transported to Cambridge Hospital, where he said he was handcuffed to a hospital bed all night while a police officer stood guard in his room. He was ultimately acquitted of the assault and battery charges during an October 2007 trial.
“I feel this is a case of racial and criminal harassment on the part of police,” Counter said.

Most of we White guys have been stopped by the cops at one time or another, and many of us have been arrested. If Counter is another friend of Obama, perhaps we could all get together with Obama, Gates, Counter, and the cops, and have a gigantic beer bash.

Of course had he not been arrested his wife and daughter would be suing the police for “racism” and “sexism”.
I suppose, given the tendency for Blacks to discipline their children rather ruthlessly at times, the police should have regarded the man’s ex-wife’s charge that he tried to throw their daughter out of a moving car as simply a matter of straightening out a spoiled, pampered girl. C’mon, he wasn’t going over the speed limit was he?
What does this fool think happens to White men whose ex-wives accuse them of abusing their kids? White people didn’t buy Prof Gates’ story because too many of us have had encounters with the cops that were settled easily by simply cooperating. And too many of us know something about how accusations of child abuse, or any felony, are handled.
I see that Prof Counter is head of the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Racial Relations. Does that mean that he doesn’t teach medicine? Is this perhaps a way that Harvard Medical School can put another Black on the payroll without subjecting the students to an ignorant teacher?
If I try to push my wife from my car while it’s moving, I might be arrested, even if I’m white and not a Harvard professor,really! Relax, Prof. Counter. We all have our issues with the police from time to time.
I’m glad the prof was acquitted (so much for racist juries) , but there was enough chaos outside his former house(did he have legal access to it) to enable police presence.Apparently someone pushed his daughter out of the car while it was moving.

You know what professor - I’m so white I’m see-through, I’m as law-abiding as can be, never been arrested, never even had a speeding ticket, keep a neat appearance, etc. And I have been “harassed” by the police several times in my forty years…once in my own home! One late night my other half was be-set by an attack of accute pancreatitis - a condition so painful one cannot speak for the agony. I called the ambulance, but it was a policeman who arrived first. He began to ask a few too many odd questions, clearly insinuating I had something to do with my gal’s painful situation. He began gawking around my house and basically being a pain in the ass, rather than doing anything remotely constructive. Mercifully, the ambulance arrived and that was the end of it. But this cop behaved like an absolute jerk - it happens. I’ve seen it a couple times, but NEVER when it involved a Black or any minority for that matter.
So lighten up professor - it almost certainly has a whole lot less to do with race than you might believe. But then that wouldn’t serve any ulterior motives you may have, now would it?
What a stupid fool Counter is. Too bad an apparently intelligent man is blinded by his narrow views on the police. Most organizations or residences would be glad to be protected so closely. I say let the idiots be robbed, raped, or whatever the case. The police are wasting their time and risking their lives for ingrates.

Well the statute of limitations to bring a civil suit for “Civil Rights Violations” (http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/42/1983.html ) is three years so the good professor only has about 3 months left to make up his mind whether to blow this up to epic proportions or just quietly let this moment slide, with the dignity and discretion a normal human being generally would demonstrate!
While it might seem like a good time to bring this suit with the heroic Professor Gates revealing the true racist face of the Cambridge PD, a comparison almost as fresh in people’s minds is the Rihana-Chris Brown fiasco.
I mean a full grown man pushing a girl into the street from a moving vehicle is pretty psychotic. I was frequently harrassed by police in the 1980’s for walking while white (with long hair). I didn’t have drugs, and I cooperated with the cops, so I was never arrested. Try cooperating, black professors. That is the real problem: black males have created a culture of non-cooperation with the police.
I was stopped by a black Georgia State trooper 2 weeks ago…
I was going south, he was heading towards me in the opposite direction (2-way street without a turn lane)….he mustve been doing 65 mph….I wasnt doing over 45 because I was looking for a house that my Daughter was at, so I could pick her up…(I thought to myself ‘this cop must be on a call because he is moving’)….well, I looked in the rearview mirror to see if it was the car in front of the cop that he was after…nope……he turns around and puts his blues on….I thought he was going after someone else….NOT ME……so I pulled over to let him pass…..
He pulls up behind me!!….
I give him my license and insurance……he writes a ticket back at his patrol vehicle…
Before he hands me the ticket he asks me what color my eyes are…I told him blue…
He replies with an ‘OK’…and proceeds to hand me the ticket to sign….(something about blue eyes really makes him mad)…….
Yeah…….it was blatant discrimination and bigotry….but I didnt say a word…….but I will when I get to court…
And the White folks have placed their destiny into the hands of the minority that has been taught for decades in these government schools to hate the Whites, that all their problems are White racism, that Whites are evil and wicked……..and these White folks that have done this (the obama slobberers) have this idiotic mindset that they will treat them as good as Whites have blacks….

But they didn’t lie. It was Gates who lied. Luckily the cops had tapes to prove it as the media always take phony claims of racism at face value when coming from a black.

Blacks tend to view many incidents involving whites as having racial overtones. This is why most whites go out of their way to minimumize their contacts with blacks. However blacks have a simple way of dealing with these same type incidents within their community. They simply shoot one another because such incidents have no whine value.
I’d be very curious to know what race his wife (and daughter) are. Nobody has mentioned that little detail, but knowing the propensity of these high-achieving blacks to marry white, I have to wonder. That might have lent an extra slant to this story.
Just a thought, that’s all. But I do know that Gates’ wife is white and his two daughters could just about pass for white. I have to wonder if Prof. Counter’s domestic situation is similar. Black man abusing white daughter, and white wife complaining, might have a racial connotation (for him) that would leave him embittered and feeling there had been a racial preference shown.

I know a lot of the police officers in local towns on a first name basis. A few of them I’m actually pretty good friends with. One thing that I’ve come to realize, and something that may shock Gates and Counter, is that these cops are real people, like you and me! Shocking, I know!
I asked one of my police officer friends about this situation, and he said that while yes, sometimes there are bad cops out there, most of them are just trying to do their job. Most of them aren’t anti-black, but rather, anti-idiot. If you act like an idiot when a police officer is around, expect to be treated like one.

This whole business is merely a slightly higher-IQ version of the Denny’s shakedown racket from a few years back. FYI, this is a tactic used by police to double-check that you ARE who is on the ID. Many people who give false identification will not necessarily know the eye color of the fake ID.

A number of years ago, I had a black upstairs neighbor at the place where I lived. Once that neighbor moved in, I kept getting her mail and she kept getting mine sometimes. So I put a sign on the door with my name, and just assumed that the letter carrier (the street always had different ones) would be astute enough to realize that my mail should go in my slot, and s/he should make the logical deduction that anything not with my name but with the same address should go upstairs. Indeed, upstairs never got my mail anymore, but I still kept getting hers. The letter carrier didn’t make the deduction I thought s/he would.
I asked the postmaster of the nearest Post Office to where I lived (though it did not serve my zip code) to solve the problem for me, why I kept getting upstairs mail in spite of the name on my door. She told me that USPS letter carriers in “certain neighborhoods” (read: black) are told to disregard names on doors and deliver mail where they best think it should go. The reason is that so many people in “certain neighborhoods” have outstanding warrants that they put fake names on their doors to throw the cops.
The zip code where I lived when this happened was a “transitioning” zip code. By now, it has almost fully transitioned from first world to third world.

Keep in mind these are educated men in high positions of academia, yet they have no problem telling the most outrageous lies that all other witnesses contradict. An Amren Classic Article called “Race And The Pathological Personality” is a must read. It appears that even individuals with the best background and of high intelligence are overrepresented among blacks when it comes to shamelessly misrepresenting facts.
It would be great if the Cambridge police would just end stopping and questioning blacks in Cambridge. Most of the crime in Cambridge is committed by blacks. Not of course the Harvard blacks, but black predatory thugs from various ghettoes of Boston.
If only, only the Cambridge police had the fortitude to do this for a couple months the disgusting liberals of Harvard would be begging for an agressive police presence.

The first one was jumping with glee, right after Reverend Wright’s admirer revealed his racist mind-set by calling the cop stupid simply because he arrested an arrogant black, and gates was joyously hopping from foot to foot, clapping his hands together, announcing that his incident will get the ball rolling on profiling. He could just see all the honkies apologizing already and giving him his due recognition as a great man and a great scholar.
The second one was just as arrogant and just as stupid. He thinks he’s going to get a freight train of support behind him for being arrested for violence against his family, when it was a family member who is a witness against him.
These, allegedly, are the cream of the black crop, so to speak. Yet they reach dumb conclusions, based on an inability to reason in logical terms, obviously because they can’t. That they don’t embarass the black population tells us how lacking the almost entire group is.
Why either one is a professor speaks volumes about the dumbed down universities in the country today. Also, why anyone would support his alma mater if it promotes blacks like these in any way reveals that there are a lot of whites who aren’t too swift themselves, and are easily duped into a mind-set that doesn’t make sense.

I’m just wondering how things would shake out if, when a call came in to the police department about a stabbing/robbery if the first question that was asked of the caller was, “What race is this involving?” When told, the authorities’ response would be, “Yes sir, as soon as we have a black officer available, we’ll be right out. However, all the black officers are tied up on other calls right now because of the high crime rate in the black community, so your estimated wait time will be two hours and 45 minutes. We have some white officers available, but we are no longer permitted to send officers of another race to a call due to potential racial discrimination lawsuits. I suggest you lock yourself in the bathroom and hope for the best.”

I live in California and blacks are being ethnically cleansed, mostly through violence, at the hands of hispanics, Asians and increasingly Eastern Europeans. They have no sympathy for your whining, your claims of oppression, your so-called ‘legacy of slavery’, violations of your civil rights, your notions of preferences.
Even prisoners don’t like blacks. When desegregation was forced on them through the courts via a black inmate’s law suit, this is the result:

There is an easy solution to this , the police department should strike. Take a few days off , work to rule. The real nature of the problem will then show itself in a sudden rise in the frequency and rates of crimes. Then tally the event and see how much crime was committed by whites and non-whites.

But since blacks have shown that they cannot even get along with related tribes in Africa, why would they be more likely to get along with utterly different races and cultures here?
In fact, they can’t even get along with each other, when among their own kind. As has often been demonstrated, the unfailing recipe for a riot is to put 500 blacks together in one place. Very soon, you’ll have mayhem and police cars racing to the scene.
