Ring Out the Old, Ring in the New
Jared Taylor, American Renaissance, December 30, 2022
2022 was a grim year.
This is my last video of 2022, and I would like to talk about some of the things that happened during the year. The worst, by far, was the war in Ukraine. I never thought I would see another full-scale, fratricidal slaughter of white people.
Even before the war, the populations of both countries were falling.
This is the fertility rate per Russian woman from 1840 to 2020.
Each woman has to have an average of 2.1 children, or the population will shrink. The Russian birth rate collapsed during the First World War and under Communism, and in 2000 fell to a horrifying low of 1.25 children per woman. It then crept back to a still miserable 1.82 in 2020. It has been 57 years since Russians had replacement-level fertility.
Here are figures for Ukraine.
At 1.22, its rate is close to the lowest in the world. Nearly eight million Ukrainians, mostly women and children, have fled the country as refugees, so this year’s fertility is sure to drop well below one child per woman.
And now, war! The best casualty figures so far appear to be 21,000 Russian soldiers dead and 75,000 wounded.
Total Ukrainian military casualties seem to be about the same, with 100,000 dead and wounded, with another 20,000 civilian casualties. That doesn’t include 14,000 deaths in the Donbas, in the low-level war that started there in 2014. These casualties are a terrible demographic blow.
The Russians were the aggressors, but the United States helped goad them into it. We expanded NATO right up to the Russian border, and in 2014, we helped overthrow a democratically elected Ukrainian government that was pro-Russian.
And let us not forget that in 1962, President John Kennedy nearly started nuclear war with the Soviets to make them take R-12 missiles out of Cuba after we put Jupiter missiles — aimed at Moscow — in Turkey and Italy.
This is not angels vs. the forces of Satan, and I hate the gloating tone of videos like this one.
There were frightened young men inside that tank. Every death is a tragedy. I hope those of you who pray are praying for peace.
This white self-slaughter was in the year the world population officially reached 8 billion. This out-of-date graph shows human population growth in the last 1,000 years.
Growth by continent is even more alarming.
Asia is the top line in green, followed by Africa in red, with both high and low estimates. Europe is the almost flat green line near the bottom. In 1950, there were twice as many Europeans as Africans. In a few years, there will be twice as many Africans as Europeans. By the end of the century, there could be more Africans than Asians. This graph should guide every one of our policies.
The average age of the world population is 30. In Africa it’s 19. In Niger, the average age is 14.8, with 60 percent of the population under 20.
The average woman has 7.2 children and half the population lives on less than $2.00 a day.
Do you think all those people want to stay in Niger? Already, “Over half of Africa’s young adults want to emigrate.”
Where do you think they want to go?
Europe should — right now — set a zero-immigration policy and send back all illegals. Europe full of Africans and Muslims won’t be Europe. All European countries should withdraw from the 1951 Refugee convention, which was for post-war refugees within Europe. It was never meant to let fake refugees who ruined their own countries come ruin ours.
“Most Europeans want less migration.”
Of course! And see the subhead? “Just 10 percent say their countries should allow more immigrants.” But what do they get? Two million more Third-Worlders every year.
Democracy is a sham.
Sometimes elites even admit it. Here is how one magazine greeted one of the best things that happened in 2020: “Viktor Orbán’s Reelection Shows Mere Democracy Is Not Enough.”
“Mere democracy” isn’t good enough if white people refuse to vote to give away their country. How dare they vote for a man who in a speech last July called migration “population replacement or inundation.” How dare they vote for a man who said that the countries of Western Europe were no longer nations but “nothing more than conglomeration of peoples.” Mr. Orban even said Hungary could be a mix of different European people but would never be “mixed-race.”
He recommended Jean Raspail’s Camp of the Saints, which explains “the spiritual developments underlying the West’s inability to defend itself.”
Mr. Orban won his third term as prime minister — by a landslide.
In Italy, a staunch pro-European, Giorgia Melone become prime minister. Our media shouted “fascist” right up to the time she took office: “Giorgia Meloni and the return of fascism: how Italy got here.”
“Fascism is Back in Power in Italy.”
“The Return of Fascism in Italy.”
What’s the worst thing she ever said? This is from 2019: “Everything that defines us is now an enemy. . . they attack national identity, they attack religious identity, they attack gender identity, they attack family identity. I can’t define myself as Italian, Christian, woman, mother. . . . Chesterton wrote more than a century ago, ‘Fires will be kindled to testify that two and two make four. Swords will be drawn to prove that leaves are green in summer.’ That time has arrived. We are ready’.”
The Left is so busy shouting “fascist,” it barely noticed that Miss Meloni is the first-ever woman to be Italian prime minister. Imagine the ecstasies if she were a “progressive.” The fact that her country voted for a person every lefty called “a fascist” was a great triumph over media tyranny.
Likewise, in Sweden, as Breitbart reports, “Jimmie Akesson Leads Sweden’s Soaring Far Right.” The Swedish Democrats, who want to “keep Sweden Swedish” are now the number-two party and are putting the brakes on immigration.
Mr. Akesson calls Muslim immigration “our biggest foreign threat since the Second World War.”
Of course, in the United States, we had the very opposite. Joseph Biden said, “Come and get it,” and they sure did. We just set a new record for apprehensions on the Southern border.
Isn’t it nice to set new records? The Broder Patrol “encountered,” as it likes to say, 2.7 million illegals in Fiscal 2022.
Did we send them back? Of course not. We gave most of them a politely worded invitation to an immigration hearing at a future unknown date, and turned them loose.
On top of that 2.7 million there were reportedly 637,170 “gotaways.” Those are people the Border Patrol saw flashing by but couldn’t catch. We have no idea how many were terrorists, drug pushers, murderers, or rapists.
But they’re here — along with who knows how many gotaways the Border Patrol never saw. Three million illegals probably got in. There are 20 entire US states that don’t have that many people.
And that was still under the emergency Covid measure, Title 42. The Center for Immigration studies, which knows what it’s talking about, notes: “Title 42 will eventually end — with a predicted 14,000 migrants per day or more than five million per year entering the country illegally.”
But don’t worry: Kamala Harris insists the border is ‘secure’.”
What a tower of strength that lady is.
I’m going to cheat and include something that happened late in 2021: the destruction of the magnificent statue of Robert E. Lee that had watched over Richmond’s Monument Avenue for 131 years.
It was cast by the famous French sculptor Antonin Mercié.
He carefully studied the Civil War and General Lee and modeled his work on war-era saddles, boots, coats and stirrups to be sure every detail was accurate. The result was majestic.
The statue and its land were deeded to the state of Virginia, which promised to “faithfully guard” and “lovingly protect” the general, but our rulers happily break contracts our precious minorities don’t like.
Lee didn’t just come down. Barbarians — in the pay of the authorities — sawed him off his horse and destroyed a marvelous work of art. Even the stately pedestal is now landfill.
We are now a nation of vandals, destroying our own artistic heritage — despite polls that always show a majority of Virginians want to keep Confederate monuments.
Which takes us to this year, after all. Fairfax County is the most liberal part of Virginia. In 2020, it voted 70 percent Biden, 28 percent Trump.
Naturally, it caught George Floyd fever and decided to get rid of Confederate street names. But the county stupidly mailed postcards to residents to see what they thought. Fifty-seven point five percent voted to keep Confederate names; 40 percent voted to change them. What did the county do?
Change them, of course.
Not even people who vote Democrat can be trusted! They misuse democracy as badly as Hungarians! What a pathetic sham it all is.
And, finally, 2022 confirmed that as our rulers keep trying to do the impossible — turn the sexes into each other, change the climate, make race disappear – they can’t do the basic things government must do. Even just a few years ago, did you ever hear of this kind of brazen smash and grab? [[7:52 – 8:50]] What will happen to these primitives even if they’re caught? No-bond, next-day release? It’s only property crime, after all. No healthy people puts up with shameless, public, violent, repeated law-breaking. We put up with it for just one reason: Because no one in authority — and I mean no one — dares say that we have a terrible black problem, that part of that population cannot be civilized. We got a demonstration of this just a few days ago.
The Buffalo area was paralyzed by a terrible blizzard that killed more than 30 people. This is how certain folks celebrated Christmas. [[0:28 – 0:59]] Can you even understand what they’re saying? They might as well be Somalis. And, of course, there’s no fear of consequences. [0:13 – 0:18] I’d like to know why they can’t just take things?
Why do they have to wreck the joint?
It’s pure savagery, as far as I can tell.
Is this more looting?
No, white staffers at a Target took in two dozen stranded people, fed them, and gave them beds for the night.
So there was some good this year, mixed in with the bad.
Who knows what 2023 will bring, but I’ll end 2022 with that wonderful dead white male, Alfred Tennyson.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
