The Attack on My Mother

Anonymous American, American Renaissance, March 19, 2023

This story is one of hundreds Colin Flaherty planned to publish in a book before his death. American Renaissance will post one a week.

My mother was viciously attacked for her pocketbook while shopping in downtown Newark, New Jersey. At 71-years-old, she was set upon by two black kids that punched her, knocked her down, and then kicked her. She didn’t let go of her pocket book until she passed out. The damage was immense: A broken eye socket, three broken ribs, and an emergency hysterectomy due to the kicks and loss of blood. She spent a full month in the hospital. There were a couple of witnesses who just yelled but they got away and of course the police said “these things happen,” and their “investigation” didn’t lead to any arrests. My mother passed away in 1991 at 81-years of age still bearing the scars, emotional and physical. She never went or asked to go downtown after that, even when we said we would go with her. “No thank you, I’ll just stay near home,” she’d say.
