Mississippi Man Arrested in Rape, Impregnation of Daughter

A multi-state investigation is underway in Calhoun County where a 22-year-old woman told investigators she was raped by her father. Sheriff Greg Pollan said the victim called police on June 16 and told them about the crimes.
After further investigation, deputies said there was enough evidence to arrest and charge 48-year-old Jose Antonio Maldonado of Calhoun County, with the rape of his daughter.

According to deputies, Maldonado also fathered his daughter’s 8-month-old child.
Although the investigation is still in its early stages, Pollan expects there to be more charges soon.
Florida authorities have been contacted, as well as the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Maldonado told investigators he was born in New York, but records allegedly show he was born in Mexico and may be an undocumented immigrant.
