3 Greensboro Teens Indicted in July Beating Death, Robbery of Man

Three Greensboro teens accused of killing a man with a fire extinguisher over the meager contents in his pockets were indicted by a Guilford County grand jury this week.

Larry Eugene Brown, 74, of 133 Greenbriar Road Apt. A was killed July 29 while walking to the bus. He died of massive blunt force trauma to the head, according to police. An arrest warrant states Brown was struck with a fire extinguisher. He was robbed of his wallet, a flashlight, a cell phone and $3.

D’Angelo Nathaniel Matthews, 17, of 3503 Sherbourne Lane, is indicted on charges of first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was previously only charged with the first two counts.

In addition to Matthews, Christopher Shakel Williams, 16, of 3616 Martin Ave., and Ketrellia Monaja Harris, 15, of 1326 Ogden St., are indicted on the same charges as Matthews. The trio is accused of conspiring to rob Brown that morning, then hitting and killing him with a fire extinguisher.

Williams was 15 at the time of the crime and Harris was 14, according to police. {snip}
