Search Continues for Suspect in Stabbing over Subway Seat in the Bronx

CBS New York, July 28, 2015

Police are hoping surveillance video will help find a man who they said attacked another man on the subway in a dispute over a seat.

Police said the man, who is between 45 and 50 years old, got into an argument with a 25-year-old man over seat on the train.

That’s when he pulled a sharp object, a knife or possibly a razor, and stabbed the man in the stomach and arm before running from the station, police said.

Many straphangers familiar with the stop were surprised to hear of the daylight attack.

“How somebody going to get stabbed over a seat,” Bronx resident Martin Espinal told CBS2’s Janelle Burrell. “That’s crazy. It shouldn’t happen.”
