Protesters Throw Rocks at MSNBC’s Chris Hayes as Tensions Escalate in Ferguson

Andrew Johnson, National Review, August 18, 2014

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes dodged a few rocks thrown towards him and a colleague while reporting live from the scene in Ferguson, Mo., on Monday night. The incident took place as demonstrators appeared to move back in the face of a strong police presence.

“People are angry, man–they’re really angry,” Hayes said, assuring viewers that he and host Craig Melvin were fine. Protesters yelled at Hayes and Melvin to “tell the true story.”

At around 11 p.m., the situation in the Missouri city shifted from a more peaceful one to tense in a matter of minutes.
