Lawmakers To Consider Bill To Offer In-State Tuition To Undocumented Students

Gregory Hahn, Idaho Statesman, Feb. 20, 2007

The bill would allow undocumented students—often children of illegal workers—the same in-state tuition and fee rates given to other Idahoans.

Some of the legislators said they had reservations, but they agreed to introduce the bill and learn more at a public hearing.

“They are living in this state, and they should be educated,” Twin Falls Republican Rep. Jim Patrick said.
