A notorious white supremacist from South Africa’s apartheid era has revealed plans to rally far right groups and apply to the United Nations for a breakaway Afrikaner republic.
Eugene Terre’Blanche was the voice of hardline opposition to the end of white minority rule in the early 90s, but has been in relative obscurity since his release in 2004 after a prison sentence for beating a black man nearly to death.
He said today that he had revived his Afrikaner Resistance Movement (AWB) after several years of inactivity and it would meet with like-minded groups on 10 October to discuss joining forces and pushing for secession from South Africa.
“The circumstances in the country demanded it,” he told South Africa’s Mail and Guardian newspaper. “The white man in South Africa is realising that his salvation lies in self-government in territories paid for by his ancestors.”
A diplomatic row erupted last month when Brandon Huntley, a white South African, was granted refugee status by Canada after claiming he had been attacked because of his race.
Terre’Blanche said he wanted to organise a referendum for those wanting an independent homeland, where English would be an accepted language along with Afrikaans. “It’s now about the right of a nation that wants to separate itself from a unity state filled with crime, death, murder, rape, lies and fraud.”
Terre’Blanche said taking up arms was not part of the new far-right plan. “For now there are other options we have to exercise first. We have a strong case to take to the United Nations.”
The AWB—whose flag resembles a Nazi swastika—was founded in 1973 with the aim of maintaining white supremacy by any means.
White rightwing activity in South Africa faded after the end of apartheid, helped in part by Terre’Blanche’s imprisonment in 2001 for the attempted murder of a security guard and assault on a petrol attendant in 1997.
Political analysts say white extremists have little support, but more than 21 members of the shadowy Boeremag (Boer Force) remain on trial for treason after being arrested in 2001 and accused of a bombing campaign aimed at overthrowing the government.
Before South Africa’s first all-race elections in 1994, the AWB deployed thousands of armed white rightists in Bophuthatswana, a puppet black “homeland” under apartheid, in an abortive attempt to prevent the overthrow of its president. The AWB was humiliated and forced to pull out.
In 1998, Terre’Blanche accepted “political and moral responsibility” before South Africa’s truth and reconciliation commission for a bombing campaign to disrupt the 1994 elections in which 21 people were killed and hundreds injured.
Jacob Zuma, who took office as president in May, has courted Afrikaners at a series of meetings this year, assuring them they have nothing to fear from his government.
The African National Congress said it was unconcerned by Terre’Blanche’s plans. “It’s singing an old song that will not work,” said Ishmael Mnisi, a spokesman. “There is no way we are going back to the era of apartheid where particular ethnic groups declare their own independence.
“South Africa is a democratic country. People have a right to raise issues as long as they’re within the constitution.”
Allister Sparks, a journalist and political analyst, said: “Eugene Terre’Blanche is a discredited figure who has spent time in prison. There will probably always be a small number of rightwing sympathisers, but the ANC has taken a benign attitude.”

David Smith shouldn’t be so hard on Mr. Terre’Blanche. He might be fleeing multicultural Britain very soon and be seeking a white homeland like the one Mr. Terre’Blanche is hoping to create. However, if Mr. Terre’Blanche is a genuine white nationalist, meaning one not bogged down by emotions or falsehoods, he will shoot the traitorous Mr. Smith at first sight on the horizon.
I wish what he wanted would come to pass, but if it did, the rest of the white world would starve it to death like they did South Africa as a whole. Just like lamestream conservatives like Reagan/Thatcher led the slaughter party the first time, lamestream conservative American and European figures and parties would lead the slaughter again.
The most likely fate of South African’s whites is genocide. A few will escape to the few white countries that will have them.

Funny how this woman is termed a white supremacist, yet blacks in Zimbabwe are never called supremacists, but I can hear blacks crying, but Zimbabwe is in Africa, so blacks can’t be supremacists for wanting it for themselves. Funny though, how the same philosophy is not applied to white in Europe.
We can only hope that the western cape can form its own white nation. Of course sadly NATO will send troops to destroy it.

I’m not an expert on SA. But my intuition tells me that an admitted terrorist who spent several years in prison is not the best person to lead a politic campaign for anything. He had his chance and he blew it. He should sit down and shut up and let someone more competent step up.
Well, according to the United Nations, 19 of the top 20 nations to live are white. Japan (#10) is the only exception.

Of course, if the global community ostracizes a new Afrikaner State, it could make life a bit more difficult — especially if medical products were unavailable.
This again, even in its most deplorable condition, a relatively crime-free white African nation may still be preferred to living in post-apartheid South Africa.
The headline is a bit of a misnomer. Why would a white supremacist with all his greater powers want to secede? Wait, I know… He feels bad for the inferior black folks and wants to leave them alone to give the poor things a chance.
I believe this story deserves our special attention gentlemen. This individual should serve as a reminder of what is required by all of us. Perseverance in what is right, in what is deserved; the man is facing challenges so herculean yet his mission is so righteous; this man, commands our respect. I hope that all of us here at American Renaissance will make it a special point to follow this man’s cause and assist it by bringing it modestly to others attention. The BIGGGGG problem with a seperate white state in a chaotic African Continent is that all the whities will be sitting nicely together to be attacked and wiped out in one blow! BUT I do not think the ordinary hard working blacks are the clearcut enemy of whites in SA. The problem is that with barbaric incitement the civil and or Godfearing black and his family are targeted . This incitement are mostly from white,black,Indian- `revolusionaries` or `tribalists`(difficult to distinguish-because the incitement is always from the TOP down and not spontaneous.
Last year a friend of ours involved in the fishing industry here in SA described the barbaric methods of intimidation dished out to fishermen who refused to adhere to a call to strike. One loyal fisherman was asked by our friend why he arrived for work and not stayed at home or joined the strike action. His reply was that he has nothing to loose in any case- his wife and daughter were killed and his house burnt down. Cases like this are always present with any `strike`. It does seem that all the blacks are white haters and violent and barbaric but here in SA it is not the case. The danger is the majority of blacks are so intimidated by the faceless intimidators that they are `voiceless`. The `attack mob` is usually taxi`d in and `orchestrated`.
SA has an added problem that millions of Africans are pouring into the country -many haredened child soldiers, ex combatents and the potential for a bloody clash just between SA blacks and the foreigners are BIIIGGGG! More freightening can be that the presence of so many war hardened blacks in SA-that they can be mobilized to commit genocide-if they are not allready doing it!
Also it is a fact that Africa `imports` stolen goods from SA and this requires organized syndicates-thus we have brutal looting sprees. A small white -only area will be focus of attention to millions of Africans to `have`!
I do not have an answer. Its a drama of conflicting emotions! I feel no fear when I am the only white middle aged lady in the supermarket, bank, streets of our town…. but at home or on the open road or on the beach I am constantly aware of a propabable attack from blacks.
The saying goes `Good fences make Good Neighbours` -the same with countries. But with Mbeki`s African Renaissance the borders went flying open!
I think it is unwise to simpify the culture clash as black and white. There are white barbarians and black barbarians and every colour in between. WE need more debate!
All of the atrocties committed against white South Africans have not gone unnoticed. The apeasements made have only encouraged more demands. When there is nothing left to give from any angle, there are very few options left.
1)Submit and be slautered.
2) Flee.
3) Fight.
If option #3 is taken, a civil war with all the atrocities of a real war can be expected. A fight to the death with genocide on both sides being the objective. Given the cicumstances, a breakaway state would be the least violent. I see absolutely no chance of the U.N. taking pity on white South Africans. In fact, I would not be shocked to see the U.N. passing some sort of resolution to figuratively spit on the graves of white South Africans even after a full scale genocide has been committed against them. They must however, go to the U.N., plead their case and get shot down to find out what they’ve known for years. That no one is on their side, reguardless of the atrocities or the impending genocide against them. While no one will help them, the current pollitical and economic conditions of the world will not stop them from fighting back. The world powers are focused on the middle east, not South Africa. If white South Africans go to war after being snubbed by the U.N., the U.N. has no right to intervene. If white South Africans choose a “better you than us” attitude, then so be it.
This is what the foolish Boers SHOULD have done IN THE FIRST PLACE. Simply create a small, homogeneous White country for themselves and let the blacks have the rest of South Africa (which they will eventually run into the ground).

Fred is probably right, at least philosophically speaking. However, as painful as it might be for pro-white nationalists to admit or accept, those who Fred and his fans might consider ‘more competent’ white leaders are, for the most part, also too cowardly,far too timid and probably corrupted by having sold out long ago to the forces who lust to exterminate whites and destroy all white nations.
Long range, forward-thinking white men (and women) who refuse to be corrupted and who are totally dedicated to our cause are, perhaps, the most rare of all species.
I possess those traits, and I am sure that most other committed AR readers do, as well. So, how can people of our breeding organize and become the new competent pro-white leaders?
Or, perhaps we must rely on the pro-white men who’ve demonstrated their courageousness through radicalism that they are not afraid of our enemies? Revolutions, after all, are not lead by the tame and genteel Ward Cleavers of the white world.
The Guardian has always been a tool of the multicults and communists. It was one of the house organs that brought down the UK. An objective report from this filthy rag isn’t expected. Notice all the inflammatory Clichés such as Nazi flag, white supremacists etc.
If the situation were reverse, a black Terre’Blanche would be called a freedom fighter. Think back to the Mandela days when he was locked up for terrorism and should have been executed. All the world rushed to kiss his feet and other bodily parts.
A white free state is most desirable in South Africa. Bet a lot of white folks from the US would move there to get away from the black crime and pestilence in the formally great USA. My guess is that any such state would thrive. Just look at the talented and wealthy whites form the US, Australia, Europe who are sick of the multitards and are looking for a place to go where they don’t have to suffer these fools.
Not long ago I read an article that reported a call for a reverse trek back to the cape (town) colony by Afrikaners to establish a free state there. Good luck. But,the fools in the US government (and a lot of white voters) will do all they can to see that any such state is not allowed to exist.

Well, there are 60 Nations in Africa, and all are Black since Rhodesia, and now, South Africa, were decimated by the UN and the Western Nations’ Trade Embargoes, and they are all failures.
Afrikaner Whites are resilant, and hard working. They can make their new Homeland work, unlike those ANCs in the old South Africa.
I am also certain that White Nationalists from around the world will contribute funds, and labor to aid the Afrikaners, too, since we have had more then our share of Diversity, and Multiculturalism, in our own Socialist-led Western Nations.
If and when this comes to pass, watch for the Afrikaner State population to rise fom between three and four million, to at least 15 million, early on into their Nationhood.
Diversity and the tolerance there of… YES we’ve all heard the statement before and I’ve brought this up before… Why must there be only one model of it? In studying history we can see its a swinging back and forth of a pendulum. Motion has preceding motion and eventually it reaches its maximum then proceeds in th opposite direction. The socialist revolutions that reached their peaks in the late eighteen and early nineteen hundreds were an effort to get even with an insensitive top down Darwinian system or royalty ruling over commoners. I imagine the poor had legitimate complaints… the problem is .. when they got momentum in their favor they became orgiastic in their vengance which in turn invited an equal opposite reaction in fascism. What I’m getting to, is there is room for different expressions of tolerating diversity and one of them ought to be preserving it. I don’t think its in accord with higher reason to go from seperate water fountains to government forced miscegination. The whites were not alone guilty of slavery concerning blacks as we all now know that the black African slavers grew very wealthy by capturing their own black brethren and whoring them to the world …only complaining when the white western world began refraining from this practice on grounds of morality for the most part. Whites have the right to exist as a group, as I see it and survival is no small instinct!
If whites cannot have the right to indigenous nationhood in Europe, I cannot imagine that even Boers can do it in Africa today.

Terre’Blanche was in prison for beating one of his black workers. Does he want a white state, or a white ruled state with black workers like SA was?
If the UN shoots down this proposal and they probably will, he should elicit the help of a military power like Russia to secure an Afrikaner state. With their help they might just take over the whole country again. The European Union might protest but they would be too cowardly to stand up to the Russians. The US with its financial problems, changing population, stretched military and weak leadership is well on its way to being off the world stage. When push comes to shove they’ll back off.
South Africa must be cleaned from illegal blacks and given back to Afrikaners. None of the blacks are native to South Africa, all of the tribes came from the North.

I did a Google image search on “AWB flag” and I must agree it does bear more than a passing resemblance to a swastika.
It’s too bad that so many racially conscious whites have to go overboard and adopt inflammatory speech and symbols. A white nation for the Afrikaners is indeed a worthy cause, but it needs others to lead it. It doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance anyway until more SA whites wake up.

Terre’Blanche is the subject of a full-length documentary that was in theatres in the dying days of Apartheid in 1991 — and is now on Youtube — entitled The Leader, His Driver and the Driver’s Wife .
It’s directed by Nick Broomfield, who is something of a British Michael Moore — both in that he prominently inserts himself into his docs; and also in the “progressive” bias in his work. Broomfield is somewhat more careful with his facts than Moore — but he’s just as tendentious. In this film, he goes out of his way to annoy Terre’Blanche (great name BTW) seemingly just to capture him on film getting very angry.
Which Terre’Blanche does.
Which of course makes him seem scary and dangerous.
Which of course exactly what Broomfield wanted.

FTR, yes the flag of Terre’Blanche’s AWB is indeed a three-legged swastika; and yes the AWB do indeed wear fascist-like uniforms. They are to me a little extreme — but then I’m not living in a place where blacks outnumber me 9:1, so I’ll reserve judgment on the man and his org.

Most white South Africans actually support the idea of a white homeland, but they don’t support the AWB leader, which is why troudging him out again is such a wise move by the liberal elite that controls him.
There remains no better way to divide, than to make him the official face of the so called quest for white independendent ruling.
As few whites actually support him, few whites will voice their wish for a white homeland out loud.

The three armed swastika, refered to here, by some, is a Triskelion. A Triskelion is on the Flag of the Celtic People of the Manx, from the Isle of Man.
It’s hardly a Nazi symbol, but people can read into anything, if they try hard enough.
Also note, that the Flag of the Afrikaner Resistance does have three separate arms, not three unified, “Legs” as in most Triskelions. That’s because they are three 7s. The three 7s was selected by the Afrikaner Resistance as a sytmbol which showed triumph over the three 6s which they saw as inherent in the ANC.
He’s not just a “white supremecist”, he’s a “notorious white supremecist”. Oh, that makes him REALLY bad! In fact, the SECOND WORD in this article is “notorious”, leaving no doubt in our minds from the very start as to where this article was going to go.
