That commercial defies any sort of comment. It does however manage to insult the intellegence of both Blacks and Whites, as well as any assorted other racial groups that may have the misfortune to wander by.
This honestly isn’t worth of being on Amren. Ive seen this before on another site. Its not that they’re using race as a way of promoting their product, i think its more of a parody of using race as a tool.
In otherwords, it was purposely made to seem like a lame ploy. The hook being they’re being ‘funny’ and not entirely taking themselves seriously. The targeted effect being they’re ‘laid back’ and ‘casual’ and not like formal retail outlets.
Is stupid nonetheless.
Why not? I’m sure this furniture store wants to sell to whites, blacks and Hispanics. They won’t discriminate against anyone’s money.
I’ve seen this commercial before and I think it’s hilarious. It’s just making light of the whole multi cultural obsession that seems to be prevalent in the nation. I live about an hour from High Point and in this area most native borns(as in native born Southerners) are much more honest about racial issues than the overly sensitive liberals flocking to North Carolina from up North and out West. People here naturally segregate but get a long much better than other places. The main problem here are carpetbaggers trying to change NC into the state that they ran away from.
Gosh, this is more fun than a barrel of monkeys!
That ad would prevent this ‘white person’ from ever setting foot inside their premises. Nothing to do with the racial aspect, just that the ad is not funny and idiotic.
What a lame ad,who cares who buys there or what color they are.Secondly, these people are getting [aid to make this commercial so who believes them.
It’s unusual to see a commercial which doesn’t portray whites as nerdy or even villainous, while the black is portrayed as cool and virtuous. I give them credit for not adding themselves to my list of companies which I despise.
I agree that it seems to be poking a little fun at multiculturalism. It’s kind of funny, I think.
To Question Diversity:
The bottom line is, they care about the color GREEN.
Like Richard Gere says to Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman”, “Stores aren’t nice to customers. They’re nice to customers’ credit cards”.
