Muslim Chef Loses Tribunal Case

More news stories on Britain

BBC, May 22, 2009

A Muslim chef who accused the Metropolitan Police of religious discrimination when told he must handle pork has lost his tribunal case.

Hasanali Khoja was told he would be expected to handle pork products at his new job at the Empress State Building in Earls Court, west London.

The 60-year-old from Edgware, north-west London, also said racist gestures were made to him when he complained.

The force was it was “pleased” at the tribunal’s decision.

Mr Khoja said earlier he was “stressed and humiliated” at the prospect of handling pork products, which Islam considers to be unclean.

He said even wearing gloves or using tongs to cook would not protect him from the risk of splashes.

The catering manager had also claimed that he was the victim of racism by an official when he went to discuss his situation.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: “We are pleased to have been cleared of allegations of discrimination on the basis of religion or belief against Mr Khoja.”

She added: “Mr Khoja remains a valued member of staff.”

If a white person went to the Middle East and complained about the lack of ham, he would not get much satisfaction.

Non-Muslims aren’t allowed into Mecca, and are forbidden from holding organized prayers in Saudi Arabia.

If we don’t push back, Muslims will encroach on our territory and cultural dominion.

public schools in the UK serve halal only lunches to appease the invaders and this clod is whining about cooking sausage? ill bet he wont be “stressed and humiliated” enough to quit his job, though. but if he is, he can just go cook for the schools!

I would go to that restaurant, make sure Khoja is cooking that day, and order all the ham and bacon I could eat.

I guess the chef thought he could get a job, then force them to bend to his way of thinking. He knew going in he wasn’t cooking for just an Islamic clientele.

What kind of racist gesture do you make to a Muslim? Bark? Squeal like a piggy?

I wonder if the smell of pork cooking, will tempt him way too much, Ummmm, bacon. I mean, some of the terrorists who came here were seen drinking, ogling girls, and other such, so why not eat some fine Southern barbecued pork?

Not only are NON muslims not allowed, but muslims the Saudis do not like are not allowed to go there, such as Iraqis and Iranians (except the very rich ones) and I heard that from Iraqis and Iranians. Most here know that it wouldn’t matter to me if Mecca disappeared.

he he…think I’ll apply at Big Louie’s, the strip club down by the base, for a job as a dancer. I know I can do it — just so they don’t humiliate me by asking me to take my clothes off. Then I’d have to sue.
