Student Body President Jasmin Jones is approaching diversity with enthusiasm and vigor, and campus cultural leaders are hopeful that she will promote inclusivity and tolerance within the community.
For Jones, the issue of diversity goes far beyond race and is about devising ways of increasing communication and understanding between cultural groups.
“People think diversity is about skin color, but it goes so much further than that,” she said.
“It’s about breaking barriers that are often not broken; it’s a lack of communication that still exists,” Jones said. “There are still limitations that we hold within ourselves.”
Plans include the creation of a diversity education task force, holding a diversity celebration day, and expanding the existing “Mix It Up Day,” which encourages students move beyond their usual social groups in the dining hall.
“We hope to create an environment where people can talk about all issues of diversity freely and learn from each other,” said Jones’ Chief of Staff Monica Matta. “We’re really trying to widen the scope of what is considered diversity.”
Leaders of cultural groups on campus have expressed hope that Jones will expand on existing relationships and initiatives.
“When we have the election forum, diversity is really stressed, but after we endorse a candidate they don’t necessarily come back,” said 2008-09 Black Student Movement president Shaniqua McClendon.
“I know diversity is on their platforms, and if they took more time to stress it, it could help.”

2008-09 Carolina Hispanic Association President Ronald Batres said he hopes Jones will be equally effective in promoting dialogue.

Jones is a Welsh name. The woman pictured here is not Welsh or even White. This prooves that Diversity is a lie. We do not know the ethnicity of this woman, except it is not White and her real surname has been lost. This is NOT Diversity in action, it is Integration, which eliminates Diversity. You would think that this would place the two at odds as two opposite ends. However, if the goal is to use the social/political fad of Diversity as a ruse in order to eliminate individualism and specific cultures, then it makes perfect sense.

30,000 white women are raped by black men every year, while in a nation with nearly 100 million racist white males only around 200 black women are raped by white men. Students at UNC are learning some things on campus. You can bet if white UNC sports students are accused of molesting a student like Ms Jones the entire campus will comment and make denouncements on the ‘hate’ of our whole racist white society and call it supreme enlightenment, even hidden knowledge being brought to light at ultimate cost.

So, basically, the university sponsors a Black Student Movement, undoubtedly among dozens of non-white special interest groups on campus, who all help formulate the diversity agenda, and the only news here is that the whole process is unfair to the Black Student Movement? Oh, and that we need to have More discrimination and hatred of white males - silly me, I meant diversity.
Whatever happened to the idea of just going to school to get an education or learn a trade and not be involved in some kind of weird social-engineering experiment?

I’ve got one question, before they start.
How are they going to pay for this extra-curricular nonsense, since colleges and universities are in line to go the same way as the other enterprises that were grossly affected by the subprime crash and the domino effect to the entire economy?
After the commercial real estate crash, which is just now beginning, the institutions of higher ed are forecast to be next.
The financial sector dropped on cue. The sub-prime residential dropped on cue. The commercial real estate market is in the process right now of dropping on cue.
Is there anybody who thinks academia will come out of this unscathed, since the same people who analyzed everything have been 100% accurate so far?
Be a shame to lose Black and Women Studies, wouldn’t it? Or, how about the course that teaches good little Marxists all about white privilege? You know, the kind you and I enjoyed by working our butts off and having exactly zero handed to us for free?
If you hear somebody laughing hysterically that will be me and it will begin when the first university announces it’s DRASTIC cutbacks.

Yes, I myself have the limitation that I am unable to flap my arms and fly. The recognition thereof is what keeps me from jumping off of buildings.

…..I still can’t believe that people still pay big money to subject their children to this sort of mawkish, schoolmarmish infantilism. Drastic cutbacks? I hope they all collapse and I mean it. If you want to be forever adolescent go to college, if you want to grow up and get an education, get a job and spend some serious time reading real books.

I had a spoiled white boy from Tennesse tell me that Eve deserved being murdered because of all the white on black crime that (still) goes on. This kid was 22 and never worked an honest job in his life, never paid taxes, and was driving around trying to be a hippie, hanging out and freeloading off people. His “daddy” was “keeping him up” as they say down here in NC. I could not stomach the sight of him after he said that. I distanced myself from the group he was hanging with and then he started to interfere with a married couple and got sent packing.

Anonymous; Another sub-issue is the probability that the White rapists of the 200 Black women were “racists” or some perceived sort of White nationalist, White supremecist or race-realist. That is because Whites of this philosophy would not want to join flesh with Blacks, it is against their creed. So these 200 White male rapists must be liberals with a special perversion.

What I find humorous about people like that is how they think they’re “free-thinking, individualistic and rebellious”. The archetype of the ignorant and unrealistic liberal thinking they are more progressive and intelligent and that anyone who does not share their beliefs is beneath them.
What if one day he gets brutally attacked by a gang of non-whites? Would he think he deserved it?
If the university were genuinely committed to diversity they would tolerate those who don’t believe in diversity. What they mean by diversity is that everyone should believe in diversity. ie there is no diversity of opinion about diversity.
The white victims of this exercise in indoctrination are probably too young and too immature to fight back; but if they had the confidence they could use the opportunity to educate blacks about the social pathologies that arise from out-of-wedlock birth and point out the extraordinarily high violent crime rate of American blacks, and explain how blacks continue to fail academically despite years of affirmative action and…pretty soon the clamor for “diversity” would die down.

What fools they think we must be! They’re the ones who have helped create a climate where constructive discussion is forbidden. The white students are expected to cowtow and grovel while being berated about how evil they and the ancestors are. Is there any way that we can reverse this nightmare without resorting to violence?
