For Some White Voters, Obama’s Race is Seen as a ‘Bonus’

“For me, the Obama thing is a giant step forward for America,” he said. The 47-year-old’s ancestors once lorded over black slaves as owners of one of the Old South’s largest plantation empires. Electing a black candidate, he said, would show that “we’re not just the slavery nation, the Jim Crow nation.”

This is the other racial dynamic that is shaping the opinion of some white voters, one that has taken a back seat to discussions of white bigotry: the reality that some whites regard a vote for Obama as a victory for diversity, an atonement for past sins and a catalyst for racial healing.

For many of these voters, the topic is difficult to discuss candidly: Nobody wants to be accused of shallow “Kumbaya” motives. “You wouldn’t want it to be misunderstood,” said Raymond Arsenault, a civil rights history professor at the University of South Florida who supports Obama. “It sounds like identity politics.”

In recent interviews, some white Obama supporters said they had examined their motives and were comfortable with the fact that they were supporting the Democrat at least in part because he is black. All of them were careful to say that it was not the only reason and mentioned a number of Obama policy positions with which they agreed—his tax plan and his emphasis on a phased withdrawal from Iraq, for example. The candidate’s race, Arsenault said, is “an added bonus for a lot of people.”

Susan M. Glisson, a Georgia native, is director of the William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation at the University of Mississippi. The group helps small communities across the state deal with lingering racial tensions. She knows how symbolically important the election is for many black voters, and she wonders what kind of positive changes an Obama victory would bring to black politics and culture.

Glisson has thought long and hard about her support of Obama and whether her decision is based on emotion rather than reason. She has decided there are many reasonable bases for her support, including economic and environmental proposals that she agrees with. She also thinks Obama’s race may help him arrive at pragmatic solutions to long-standing problems.

Among other things, she believes that a black president may take a more serious interest in racial disparities in income, healthcare and affordable housing.

In suburban Allison Park, Pa., David Wolff said he believed an Obama presidency would more directly combat the racist attitudes he was shocked to hear from so many voters in his state this year. Wolff, the vice president of a printing company, believes that exposure to a black president will serve as a needed counterpoint to negative images of African Americans on the radio and on TV.

“Picture a little kid at home, and here’s his mom or dad saying negative things about a black person,” said Wolff, 52. “At the same time, he’s looking on television and here’s Obama, this smart guy doing remarkable things… . That’s how I think he could have a transformational effect on people’s attitudes.”

Nicole LeFavour of Idaho sees Obama’s race through a different kind of prism. Serious racial tension is often an abstraction in her state—it is about 97% white. But LeFavour, the first openly gay member of the Idaho Legislature, hopes that Obama will break the chain of 43 white men in the White House and govern with the interests of a more diverse population in mind.

“I think for a lot of people who have experienced discrimination—be it over race, gender or sexual orientation—they want a president who knows what it’s like to be different,” she said.

For others, Obama’s lure is not necessarily that he is black but that he “transcends” race with his biracial background and nuanced exploration of the American racial landscape. That is part of the appeal for Ralph Fertig, 78, a Freedom Rider during the civil rights movement who now teaches social work at USC.

“It’s not just that he’s black—Jesse Jackson was black,” Fertig said. “It’s that he transcends it.”

Shelby Steele, a conservative black intellectual, has argued that such opinions point to a paradox inherent in the Obama phenomenon: Though the Illinois senator’s campaign suggests racial “transcendence,” Steele argues that race, nonetheless, is the only thing that separates Obama from hordes of party-line liberal Democrats. “If he were not black, I don’t know if we’d know his name,” Steele said at a lecture in January.

So, the LAT goes out and cherry picks voters to fawn all over Obama. And yet, this person at the bottom thinks that whites who aren’t racial panderers are “sociopaths.”

In reality, we might understand one of these days the pathology that makes white people turn traitor on their own (per this article) and side with another race. No other race has this pathology. Otherwise, there has been no explanation for it.

I would certainly agree that those who fail to feel guilt for their own acts that have harmed others are sociopaths. On the other hand those who feel guilty for the acts of others are at least neurotic if not severely mentally ill.

One feels guilt when he or she has actually committed a crime, not from vague general principles. One who feels guilty over nothing is suffering from self-defeating personality disorder.

Radio and TV are so grossly biased in favor of blacks, one wonders what alternate reality those people are living in. In any case, the phenomenon this article discusses is extremely prevalent. I recently witnessed a Democratic rally and one geezer had a full body sign hanging from his neck that read “Old white men for Obama”. Of course it’s true that, if not for his skin color, Obama would be an unknown. As for doing “amazing things”, is steeling money from one person and giving it to others “amazing”? Is starting wars and further curtailing our freedoms “amazing”? Is telling bald-faced lies, pandering to special interests and identity politics “amazing”? If so, then I suppose his will be an “amazing” presidency.

Just exactly what does this mean? What else could the multicultists/diversicrats want? They never explain exactly what it is that he is going to “change”. Who’s interests is he going to promote? Blacks? Hispanics? Asians? Jews? Gays? All these people are already allowed to promote their own interests. Is he going to set up an affirmative action system? Already done. Require the government and private companies to hire a certain number of minorities? Already done. Force banks to give loans to unqualified minorities? Already done. It’s kind of funny to see people use the expression that Obama “transcends” race. In 2004, Obama gave us his insight into “acting white” — according to him, it is a scandal. In 2008, Obama allowed as how the highly diverse white American peoples were clones of one another when he used the term “a typical white person.” That he has never apologized for these two slurs tell us that he is a very dangerous man obsessed with race and not at all embarrassed about letting us know it.

Am I supposed to feel “guilt” for the holocaust because it was perpetrated by white Germans even though my ancestry is not German, but I am white? My ancestors didn’t even start arriving in this country from Scotland and Ireland until the late 1800’s after slavery was outlawed. Three quarters of my ancestors were still in Europe during the days of slavery, the others were mostly farmers in rural Pennsylvania & Upstate New York.

Not a single slave was owned by any one of these ancestors.

Nope - the problem is that half the country is just like this.

The whole premise of “racism” always defaults to a ‘whites are guilty’ position. Almost nobody looks at black (and brown) ‘racism,’ which is 1,000 times more prevalent.

Black voters are going for the Chosen Messiah, something like 90-10 or 95-5 or 99-1 (one of the three). Imagine if idiot leftists woke up before tomorrow. Our country wouldn’t be permanently transformed into a 2nd world cross between Africa, Saudi Arabia and Mexico. (We’d become a 3rd world zoo, except for one thing — we have nukes).

To the “More Is Better” crowd, just remember this. Name me one liberal doctrine or policy which, once installed has ever been undone from the New Deal, Great Society, Carter, Clinton, etc., etc.? Even when slavery was legal few white families owned any. Slaves were a benefit of wealth. After the civil war most of those families were ruined financially and on the battlefield. The nation soon after opened the flood gates to immigrants. A century later and very few white Americans have any connection to slavery at all. My family arrived in 1910, so I feel absolutely NO guilt about slavery for being white or for being an American. The idea that most of white America should continue to hold guilt for something that only a handfull of them have any connection with is foolish. A line must be drawn. We have paid 40 years of reperations so far, what else do we need to do? Elect an Affirmative Action president?

My parents were born here (In the USA) and so was I. My grandparents were immigrants. I feel no guilt about slavery but even if I could trace my roots back to the Revolution, I would feel the same. I will not be made to feel guilty for something I did not have a hand in. Do blacks feel guilty for their crimes against whites, it is stupid white guilt and it is killing America. Or should I say it killed America because I feel the end is in sight.

I could vote for a black candidate if he said in all honesty;

“I believe that black people will never be able to live in a country controlled by whites as whites could never live in a country controlled by blacks. Such a situation being caused by the disparate views we hold which is exibited on a daily basis, as well as the historic injustices committed by both races against each other. I will therefore take half this country’s treasury and move to Africa with my people where Blacks will finally be free of white oppression real or perceived. All those whites that are inclined by ideals or emotion that wish to join us are welcome. I would also respectfully request that the black people that decide to remain in America for the same reasons are granted the same quarter. Once we as blacks are free of America you may hold another election of the man or woman of you’re choosing. But for me and my people I say, we are now repaired. I don’t believe it is really about feeling guilty on behalf of an entire race, as some of the interviewee’s say. I don’t think they’re capable of feeling that.

I believe it is a need to feel the rapture of martyring oneself, for what one is convinced is a higher cause. A symbolic Jesus-like sacrifice, to purge their own ‘sins’ that vex them, that they’re not capable of confronting. The guilt is personal, and has nothing to do with race.

Folks I have personally known and worked with of the black persuasion generally have a negative view of America, and White folks in particular. It ranges from subtle to blatant, but it never shocks me to hear the “racism” conspiracy drivel as well as the “you don’t know what it’s like” speech. Yes, I only know work ethic and reject grown people whining about not getting the key to Fort Knox handed over to them taped to an apology letter. No, Those who fail to feel guilt probably grew up in Gary, Detroit, Baltimore or one of the other black cities. Those who do feel guilt probably live in the suburbs, as no doubt, this Mr. Hairston does.

People get away with this hypocrisy because no one ever calls them on it. If Mr. Hairston feels so guilty about being the descendant of slave owners (why does he even care about his family history anyway?) he could certainly move to one of the aforementioned black cities to show his solidarity. Oh, excuse me. He doesn’t feel that guilty.

What radio does he listen to and what television programs does he watch? All of the fictional programs depict blacks as heads of state, generals, admirals, judges, police chiefs, scientists, heads of surgery, etc. The only programs that I know of that have negative images of blacks are COPS and America’s Most Wanted, both nonfiction.

The bad guys are white american CIA agents who are trying to destroy Bolivia and even try to kill Bond. Felix Leiter is the CIA agent who has rescued Bond in many of his movies.

We always hear that whites are voting for a black to assuage their guilt, or because they believe blacks won’t have any reason to complain about injustice, or because they believe bad black attitudes will improve, etc., but none of those reasons are even close to being accurate. Obama will get the largest part of white votes from people who are mentally and emotionally disturbed.

Some of them are the do gooder types who just can’t contain themselves and are compelled to feel as if it’s better to be good than right…..about anything. And, a large segment is the weak-minded types who can be turned any way a propagandist wants to turn them, and it is they who display the most
unreasonable, fanatic zeal than any of the others. Their reasons for support often indicate deep emotional problems similar to the quite obvious mental afflictions the fanatical supporters of many of history’s most despotic dictators were burdened with.

So, between these poor, misguided fools and, of course 99% of blacks, plus a vast majority of non-whites, Obama will be elected.

But Obama would not have even a slight chance of winning if it weren’t for George Bush, Karl Rove, and their coterie of neo-con fools. Their insistence on giving amnesty to illegals and making an unjust unilateral attack on Iraq turned the major portion of the population against Bush, and nothing revealed this more than the loss of Congress to the Democrats in 2006. Together they wrecked the Republican party.

And, being the leader of a kabal of atrocious, unintelligent, unwise advisors, Bush alone is responsible for bringing the entire national Republican party to ruin and for its losses to the Democrats.

And since the Republican party was wrecked to begin with, and refusing to loudly admonish the Democrats for their sub-prime fiasco, while Pelosi and other Dems blamed the disaster on the Republicans, is it any wonder that the Anti-Christ can sway enough gullible fools to sneak his way into the White House?

Everybody seems to forget the Republican party was ruined long before this election process began, and it was Bush who destroyed it. If he had backed ridding the country of illegals and protecting our borders and ports, and stopped after the attack on Afghanistan, there’s no way a satanic leftist with a lack of credentials could ever get elected, in spite of his mentally and emotionally challenged white minions.

So to give proper credit for the results of this election, and the present situation, all you have to do is say, “Thanks, George Bush.”

If you examine liberal philosophy and psychology in terms of the subject of guilt, then you’ll find that liberals have always maintained that personal guilt is a bad thing, a harmfull emotion people shouldn’t be burdened with. Of the two groups, at least the blacks are voting for their perceived self-interests. However, it is difficult to describe the stupidity of the whites voting for Obama. Despite the decline of the main-stream media, and the rise of the internet, many, many, people have made their decisions off of those schmaltzy Obama commercials on the tube. The main-stream media has softened the minds of some Americans for decades now, making them ready to embrace the diversity savior.

The irony of the present day is that due to the internet the segments of the population who desire to be informed are more informed than ever before. Unfortunately, there are much larger larger segments for whom the information age has had little or no intellectual impact. For those people the information age is limited to their cell phones, text messaging, and shopping on-line. And yes, the Obama commercials where we are informed that …. gasp … Obama had a mother. What a unique attribute.

After reading moronic articles such as this, I know the long-ago decision I made to cancel my LA Times subscription was 100% correct. This is a typical page one, above the fold, headline story that is driving away the LA Times’ subscribers.

Does the LA Times believe that insulting Whites by printing Non-White sob stories—articles about evil White racism and guilt, noble ‘undocumented’ immigrants working jobs that Whites turn up their noses at (according to them), ‘living in the shadows’ of Evil Whites, and fluff stories about the low g-loaded mayor will appeal to White readers?

I walk my dogs in the early morning hours and I notice how FEW LA Times I see in driveways—20 years ago it was rare to see a driveway without a morning-edition LA Times (area is still majority White, one of a very few around here).

Who exactly is the LA Times writing for when:

One great thing about this election of Obama is that hopefully Blacks, other minorities and Leftist Whites will finally have to STHU about White racism and quit screaming racist at White people all the time. Ranger is spot-on. This looming catastrophe can be laid squarely at the feet of George W. Bush and his father, who set about dismantling the Reagan legacy almost immediately upon taking office.

His lip-bibbling nincompoop son then tried to export democracy by attacking a nation that in no way threatened us, presided over the largest peacetime expansion of the federal government in our history, embraced his political enemies and gave his supporters the back of his hand, and now cowers in the White House, afraid to come out. It is 8:19 am Tuesday morning, I have been to the polls and voted. I DID NOT vote for obama, he is dangerous to this country, and I suspect he is not a citizen of this country. I have never seen this many minorities at the polls before in my district. A judge ruled here in Ohio that people can use a park bench as an official address. You can only imagine the rest. I have sold my house, thank God. I am moving to another state, not just because of the election results, (ohio is said to be leaning far to the left this time around). I want to get away from the area due to the crime rate that is starting to explode in this area. I can’t believe it happened so soon, though. The second Bolshevik Revolution is starting, not in Russia, but right here in the United States.

The only rational explanation of this kind of anti-white attitudes (“Those who fail to feel guilt are sociopaths” is one of which) is that we are witnessing the culmination of a well-orchestrated effort to render the white majority in the U.S. an irrelevant and subservient group that only excuse for existence is to provide the wealth to be redistributed among blacks and other “underserved” minorities.

And every white that resist that redistribution of his wealth is a right-wing extremist, conspirator and a sociopath.

How similar this rhetoric (“demagoguery” seems like a more adequate classifier here) is to one used by Bolsheviks. I can’t help noticing the relationship between mass migration from countries were Bolshevism rooted themselves in the past (like Russia and Mexico, just to name two) and an increase of Bolshevik-type of thinking among American population.

I’ve thought and thought about what it is about European American left-wingers who actively go against their own kind—-no other group seems to do this. My guess is that it may be as simple as the fact that these people are basically spoiled brats, who have never had to struggle. Why can our movement not attract the mainstream white population at this time? Consider the following:

The people of the West live today in the throes of the most unprecedented material affluence in human history. Our people have been narcotized by this affluence. Affluence insulates people from reality. It enables our people to, literally, afford to be comfortable in the midst of blatant lies and horrific abuse. It enables liberalism, racial equalism, and other reality-denying ideas to be accepted. Dr. Pierce was mistaken when he asserted that media manipulation was the cause of Western dysfunction. In fact, it has been the mental pacification caused by Western affluence which has delivered our people to their present condition. Western success is jeapordizing Western survival.

Our movement, for seventy years, has operated on the premise that, if the truth would be placed before our people, they would rise up in rage and action. But comfortable people do not rise up - they cannot afford to. If they did, their affluence would be jeapordized. So they remain quiet and pacified even as, for example, their children are taken away in school buses for the purpose of mongrelization. We have all seen this. The narcosis of affluence is powerful and real. It explains what has happened to us.

We would like to think that our people are above the corruption and mental paralysis caused by affluence, but in fact we are not. This key point has never been understood by our movement. This non-understanding must end.

Whites are about to enter phase 1 of our darkest hour. This immediate phase is most likely to last 95-175 years. To survive this phase, whites will have to go tribal at the local level. You will have to form little mini-societies in which to secure you and your children’s survival.

Those whites who are waiting on a ‘Big Crash’ style calamity before they will act(believing such an event will wake people from their slumber) are the worst kinds of fools. The world is going to keep right on spinning one way or another, and people will simply adapt to the changes that come.

The real problem is that the underlying social structure was knocked out from under us. The FLDS is thriving because they still have their family/religion/community intact. Their family/religion/community is also intact.

The way to start building is to not only have lots of kids, but to build an organized structure that will support it.

I have no idea what images you’re talking about, but it doesn’t matter. The negative images that count, the ones that no amount of powdered, painted and soft lit coverage of Obama can counter, are those of the blacks staring at you with empty, soulless eyes through your windshield while you wait at a stop at a red light in a bad neighborhood. Or of the victims of black thugs who attack people out of nothing more than feral animalistic rage. As a University student completing an MBA it is both shocking and deflatting to see how many white students were sporting Obama t-shirts today.
I usually read the comments on these boards for therapuetic reasons, as a form of catharsis. Sometimes I even leave feeling optimistic toward our plight as Europeans.
Then I realize, as I did today, that we, Amren faithful, are a paltry handful. For every one of us - and sadly I continually see the same posters, with no real influx of new readers - there are likely a hundred, or even more, white liberal traitors, going are around sporting Obama apparel and regurgitating the same leftist tripe and the such.
We are indeed in trouble. Are biggest obstacle are our own!
Until we find a way to re-indoctrinate or nuetralize these, we are doomed!

Many of them served in the Union Army during the CW in the 6th New York Heavy Artillery. I found some news clipping about them during the muster out of Washington, DC towards the eventual Battle of Gettysburg. One clipping included a song they used to sing. In that song, it is clear that they had no sympathy for Blacks - only they didn’t refer to the slaves as Blacks. No, what they hated was the fact that Southerners, in their estimation, lived lives of ease while slaves did the work and they (the Northerners) had to slave themselves, on farms, in factories, etc.

Another side of my family is descented from the Carter’s who settled in Virginia and became very wealthy via land ownership and the use of slaves. But my particular branch was already fairly far removed from the central wealth by 1800, married others and had children who served in the Union Army. Do people know that R E Lee’s father Henry “Light Horse Harry” Lee died a pauper and served time in debtor’s prison? A Carter ancestor of mine was married to him.

So here I am, and I don’t feel guilt for slavery. I do understand that the South was “addicted” to slavery the same way that we are “addicted” to oil today. Changing a system that has served as the underpinning of an entire national economy is very hard to do (that’s right, the Northern mills needed Soutern cotton). But most Southerners fought so that they would not be slaves to a Yankee run Federal Government. I understand all these things.

I don’t feel guilty because a small percentage of my ancestors helped build the national economy any more than I do for filling my car’s tank with gas. People suffer all over the world - many more than did in the days of American slavery - so that we can fill our tanks with gas today. Britain ended Black slavery in England, but continued to treat the Irish worse than slaves, and Britain made slavery a crime in England while they forced China to sell opium to the Chinese population through their two “Opium Wars.” The same goes for France and other European colonial powers.

I feel as guilty about slavery as Blacks do, due to the Black slave masters in the South. Oh, didn’t they know about that?

I personally don’t like the idea of slavery for anyone. But I also see this now generational form of state welfare dependence as even worse as it enslaves people who produce nothing but more children and crime.

I’m voting for Obama because he is better on some issues that I care about, and no worse than McCain on others (like immigration). I also think that perhaps we will move our dialogue forward on race — it will be that much more absurd to blame black underachivement on racism with Obama in the White House. Remember the tiresome rhetoric about race surrounding black quarterbacks and black NFL coaches? Thankfully, that has mostly died down.

I suppose McCain would be better on judges, but with a Democratic Senate, McCain wouldn’t get to appoint a Justice that would overrule Grutter anyway.

I would like to ask this to white people who see themselves as pro-white or race realist: why is electing a black liberal desperate to prove he’s not Jesse Jackson any worse than electing a white liberal who grovels before Jesse?

Guilt is for the guilty…not me.

I am offended by “Brown Pride”, “Black Pride”, “Asian Tradition”, as well the embracement of the Muslim religion in this country. Yet, I suffer all of this with a smile…as they are in a free country and, as such, will offend others in execise of their freedom.

As they have the right to offend…so to do “Americans” and I use this term to describe all races of people who consider themselves to be just plain old “AMERICAN”. We also have the same right to offend those with minority stances.

As we suffer thier offences…so they should suffer ours.

Instead, laws are passed to controll our freedoms…to employ a minority stance.

Forced Politically correct views by the power of law…this is not freedom….but a very old idea…communism.

It is the “repercussions” of being offesive that disgust me…getting people fired or forcing a “step down”…be it of race, religion, or sexual oriantation.

No one has to accept anything…no one should be forced to employ and idea or thought.

If we just accept that in a free society we will be offended, then we should respect anothers right to offend…as well our own right TO OFFEND OTHERS.

Phony lieing people…forced to lie to stay in office or keep a job. When people are foced to lie…it becomes easy to be dishonest…and they wonder why all these politicians are crooks.

He was picked by certain elites, and brought along, because they knew that his being black was going to take the focus of a huge slice of the naive American publics mind off of the economic fiasco that these very same elites brought about. I’m talking about the estimated loss of trillions in derivatives, the sub-prime loans on cars and houses, and other financial thievery that they are responsible for and are now forcing the American taxpaying public to pay back.

Furthermore, President Obama will be used by these same people to continue their criminality, since they financed his whole campaign. This is on record. McCain, you see, would simply not be as usefull, although they would have used him to, because he is financed by them also. The latest I heard on the bailout plan for the rich, was that Goldman Sachs has used twenty billion dollars of the 850 billion extorted from Americans to pay bonuses to their emmployees,each of whom will receive approximately half a million dollars.

Final thought: Shouldn’t millions of the taxpaying American public be out in the streets by now? Yet, we take it all lying down.

I was reading about the presidential election in 1964. A woman and a pacific islander from Hawaii ran for president in the republican primary. Barry Goldwater ended up losing to Lyndon Johnson. Local and state elections have pretty much been going to Democrats since FDR. There was admittidly a conservative wing of the Democratic at one time. Richard Nixon and his silent-majority won in 1968. I wonder, if what’s been going on in American politics has been that each generation of white Americans votes anew for a Republican president, after too many white women end up with black guys after a democrat gets in. I certainly wonder if that’s going to be the dynamic this time…

I’ve seen this phenomenon up close. I teach in a high school that is 72% white. In four out of the last five years, the student body elected a black school president. And the way these white kids walk on egg shells and go out of their way not to disagree with the opinions of their black classmates is nauseating. These kids fear the accusation of “racism” more than anything in their small worlds.

Typical. That calls to mind a similar experience I once had. Several years ago, I was seated next to a Canadian businessman on a plane. An extremely pleasant man, he was very friendly and outgoing. After a few drinks had loosened him up still more, he was eager to get into “how you Americans treat your blacks”.

He confessed that he could never understand just what was the problem that Americans had with blacks, since he saw no problem there at all. (Of course, I note, he only encountered them in high-end hotels where they were very deferential and courteous.) He told me grew up in a city in Alberta where there had been only one black student in their high school; but that one black was by far the most popular student in the school and, in fact, was elected class president.

In hindsight, I must ask — if only in retrospect— how many black slaves ever existed in Canada? How many blacks ever lived in Western Canada at all? What “white guilt” do Canadians feel they have to expiate?

Yet, it seems that they do. But why?

It seems that (as in everything) they feel they have to compete with their American cousins, and then go us one step further. If Americans can feel guilty, then Canadians have to show that they can feel MORE guilty!

But guilty for WHAT? For being white, I guess.

One black in the high school? That’s laughable. Let him attend a high school that’s 90% black and he would change his tune. In this, Canadians are much like teenagers. When I was a teen, I thought I knew it all, and my parents were old fuddyduddies. In time, I learned otherwise. Canadians, Finns, Swedes, etc. are much like teenagers — they have to learn the hard way. Alas, by then it will be too late. Their countries will be lost.

The L.A. Times did their usual job of interviewing only ultra-liberal and deracinated whites then acting as if that’s the prevailing view among whites in flyover country. The “good” whites support Obama is the theme of most msm articles.

I love how it’s ok to use race as a criterion to cast a vote FOR Obama but the media quickly throws out the unflattering labels if race is used to vote against him. We oppose Obama because of the bone deep hatred and resentment that he harbors for white people and America. Of course, that would be “racist” for the media to take that angle on opposition to Obama.

Firstly a great post. And I have had the same pessimistic thoughts.
And though I am a white male on the other side of the planet, and my support probably will not lift you up at all.
Know that you are not alone.
It took me ages to summon the courage to post here partly because of my geographical location, partly because some of the people who post here are intimidatingly smart.
But we all have a part to play.
Obama did not win by a landslide the popular vote was very, very close. So there is alot of disappointed people in the States and around the world today. Also the GOP turn out was down and George W has a helava alot to answer for.
Obama did not get the white male vote.
And the timing of this Economic collapse and MSM handed this victory to Hussien.
Alot of the truth about who Obama really is, the true reasons behind the economic collapse will start to be discussed now.
On the ABC election coverage they interveiwed Oprah W, tried to laud her and she said something along the lines of ‘I have never seen people so together like this since 9/11’, quite apt I thought.
For every happy person today there is an angry one, ‘our side’ has a gag over it’s mouth. We will rise again, now it is our time to claim ‘hope’ and to be positive.
Strong and smart white men and woman made this world.
We will never be simply wiped out. We may have to be a little more covert and the demographics are against us, but at the least nature has will regulate us all. The world is on a unsustainable ecological path, and in 20-30 years countires like India and China are not going to be able to feed themselves.
We may have to withdraw and watch and wait and prepare. And take care of our own backyards.
But we can never give up, it’s in our blood.

I am watching live Obama and family walking out on the stage as the president for the first time. Makes me feel sick.

In the 2000 and 2004 elections I was supporting the Dems, I was watching alot of Michael Moore and Candian type documentaries in those days. I almost can not believe myself how quickly I have become very right-wing. It doen’t take that much truth to convert the converted, there is hope to get some of these white idiots back on board.
With this election the debt has now been paid back, next time it will be different.
The Dems will continue it’s tricks of brainwashing more kids, allowing more illegal voters to cross your boader , get more felons voting, and the Democratic voting base will keep breeding and breeding.
And the GOP or whoever represents the right, just needs to bring more members back into the fold, and it will happen.

I wonder if others on this forum are finally realizing the real meaning of “duh-mocracy”, including its close relationship with duh-versity. “One person (can’t even assume the word “citizen”, can we?), one vote”? Do you still think that’s a good idea?

It’s past time to respond to posters in this thread, and many others before, who loudly proclaim “I feel no guilt for slavery in the US! My ancestors weren’t even here until [fill in the post-1865 date]”. Hey, all you new kids on the block: my reading indicates my ancestors were here in 1600 (that’s 20 years before the tiresome, puritanical Pilgrims of Plymouth Rock fame). They moved west into the Appalachian Mountains and onward to the midwest. It is entirely possible that some of them, through business or marriage, came to own slaves. Am I then more guilty than others? Absolutely not. I’m not even interested in learning whether or not I have slave-owning ancestors, because it’s utterly irrelevant to my moral standing. I’m precisely as guilt-free as you. Welcome to the club.

By the same token, I take no personal credit for the astounding good fortune of the living descendants of Africans who were sold by other Africans to end up in the US today. On a realistic, global scale, they’ve got it way better than their typical distant cousins back in the Motherland, and the smarter ones know it, whether or not they’ll admit it. An appropriate, silent, daily prayer for them would be “Thank you, Whitey”.

Finally, from visiting anti-“racist”, Mr. Lindsay:

I just saw Spike Lee on television stating jubilantly that “something like this (Obama’s Presidency) can ONLY happen in America”.
This got me thinking. It sounded to me like a challenge, sort of like reverse psychology.
This degenerate is implying that the rest of the western white world is not “enlightened” or “sophisticated” enough to elect a black head of state.
Soon we will see the same demands for black power in Europe too; that is where the next campaigning and brow beating will spill over.
And from the vibe I got the last time I visited Western Europe, they are just weak and gullible enough to fall for such “fashionable” thinking.

Browser, he can dump all he wants to, because I feel like the white guy who was confronted by the black college professor who asked him about how much guilt he feels, and he answered—NONE. He said that neither he nor his ancestors had anything whatever to do with slavery, and that after saying so the black professors mouth just kind of hung open for a while. It’s funny the effects that the truth can elicit from people rarely confronted with it.

Tonight, as i was leaving my parents house to go to my home, a small group of black kids, ages of around ten to thirteen, were walking past the house in the middle of the street, and one of them cried out, in a wise, sargastic maner; “We got a n….r in the White House” in which the others responded with loud laughter.

I wanted to say to them; “Yea, we got a n-word for a Governer (Paterson), but he’s not giving out any more free money (He’s cutting back big time because of the economy). So get used to it”!

To be honest, I have actually considered it, many times. I really do not like racism though, in myself or in others. Yes, I have some, and I think most of us antis do. I think we just reject it in ourselves when it comes up (or try to) and try to move beyond it or get outside of it.

I’m not wild about barrio Hispanics or ghetto Blacks or barrio or ghetto culture, but I have no issues with Blacks or Hispanics or anyone else who acts decent and civilized, at least while they are around me.

I don’t like racism. Don’t like how it feels. It feels ugly and nasty, and to me it feels like it corrodes my soul. That’s just me, YMMV. I also think on some deep level that it’s just stupid and wrong.

I struggle with this a lot myself. I live around a bunch of poor Blacks and Hispanics who often act really bad, and it’s not so easy to like a lot of them.

I’ve talked to folks all over the world, and almost all of them are proud of their race, nation, ethnicity, whatever. And most did not hate outsiders either. Whites are odd now in that we have rejected the pride which all healthy ethnic groups and races feel for their own. A person who does not love himself is not that healthy and neither is a race who rejects self-love. So US Whites are not healthy.

I’m hep to White self-love all the way, but not dissing on the other. Anyway, if you noticed, people who really have healthy egos don’t go around dissing and hating on others. Only insecure people do that, because they need to drag others down to build themselves up. So a healthy White race would just feel great about being White and not diss on others (no need to).

When Obama is forced to institute a draft in order to retain any conventional military power in the U.S. - he will loose his liberal support. If Obama raised a special police force (army) to police the nation internally for gun confiscation, hate speech, writing, etc., including shutting down sites like Amren - people will begin to rebell.

The victors like YesWeDid are writing and saying all sorts of things right now, but as reality sets in and Obama begins to show his real ineptitude due to his inexperience and really terrible position as a far left Commander and Chief, the glory will vanish and dissatisfaction will set in. The whole world thinks they are going to gets lots of goodies out of Obama and America now and all America did was vote to help themselves out of their own financial mess - and that includes withdrawing from the world not engaging in it!

The Big Show is just beginning. The left is a bipolar entity that is on a big high right now. Within a year the mood will be much different. Obama is not the Messiah. Mark my words.

I often post nothing because I don’t feel I have anything to add. Either what is pertinent that I feel comfortable posting has been posted, in which case I can do nothing but communicate my agreement, which seems, though it may inspire whoever I’m agreeing with, that it would be mostly clutter on the bulletin, or I think I have something pertinent that has not been said, but, for often having thought I would post it only to the next day have have some bit of information enter into my thoughts and and change my assessments entirely, I do not feel comfortable communicating it and very possibly being thought an idiot.

Perhaps many other people feel similarly.

Robert, It all hinges on what is your definition of “racism”. If it means respecting yourself and your people and your history and your culture, then why would that corrode your soul?

On the other hand, irrationally hating anyone who’s unlike yourself may possibly do that. But there is no good reason why loving your own kind and culture must mean hating everyone else. Positive racism is a healthy emotion. It amounts to self-respect. It need not be wrong or evil. We have been taught that it is evil by those who have an interest in promoting that point of view. That is THEIR concept that they try to plant in your mind. Reject it. Think for yourself.
