Report: Minority College Attainment Up, But Stalls

More news stories on Racial Preferences in Education

AP, October 9, 2008

The number of minorities in college has increased substantially in recent years, but not fast enough to keep up with demographic changes.

As a result, U.S. adults in their late 20s are reaching only about as far as the age group immediately above them in terms of educational attainment. And among Hispanics, a lower proportion has completed at least an associate’s degree when compared with those age 30 and older.

Unless the trend is reversed, the increases in Hispanic participation in higher education won’t be enough to ensure that a growing proportion earn a college degree.

The findings are highlighted in a biennial report to be released Thursday by the American Council on Education, supported by the GE Foundation.

However, significant gaps among racial groups remain, and by some measures are widening. In 2006, among 18- to 24-year-olds, 61 percent of Asian-Americans were in college. That compares with 44 percent of whites, 32 percent of blacks and 25 percent of Hispanics.

Department of Education figures show that in 2006, 18 percent of older Hispanics had at least an associate’s degree, compared with just 16 percent of 25- to 29-year-olds. Council researcher Mikyung Ryu said the numbers do not suggest that’s simply because students are delaying getting an associate’s degree until after 30.

Just give all hispanics who reach their 22th birthday a Bachelor’s degree in grievance studies with a minor in “how to achieve white genocide.”

Makes everything easier. The taxpayers won’t have to pay for the schools and the hispanics won’t be burdened with student loans or spending 4 years of their lives listening to anti american anti white diatribes.

This is a demonstration of where America’s future will lie. As the demographics shift, the U.S. will be overrun by Hispanics, soon becoming the largest ethnic group and they will be the most uneducated group. What kind of future can America possibly expect to have when the majority of it’s citizens are neither educated or intelligent?

The globalists let this flood in. They could have increased immigration from China if they desired cheap, hard-working labor, but the elites knew that an increase of Chinese would be a threat to their power, as Chinese quickly climb the social ladder. Instead, we have been given the Mexicans, that do not rise in social status, because of both their culture and lack of intellectual capability. They will, like blacks, be a perpetual underclass. And soon they will be the majority.

There is no hope for this country unless action is taken now. The upcoming collapse of the economy will be the opportunity for change. Will we learn the lessons from the failure that multiculturalism has brought us? Or will America remain willfully ignorant when the cities are plundered and their homes are looted and burned when the blacks and Hispanics lose their social safety net? A time is coming for solidarity with those that understand, those that are willing to accept the truth about racial inequality. It’s the only chance for survival of this nation.

I’m currently a college student in Texas. Just based on my own observations and experiences, I think that the reason that a lot of Hispanic students don’t finish high school and don’t go to college is that they never learned to speak English. In many high schools, students can take ESL classes and do most of their schoolwork in Spanish. For a lot of these students, they live in predominantly Spanish-speaking neighborhoods, their families only speak Spanish at home, they watch Spanish TV and listen to Spanish radio. They never really have to have that much exposure to the English language unless they actively seek it out and for many of them, it’s a lot easier to just never learn English and demand that everything be translated into Spanish for them. When they can’t pass high school exit exams like the TAKS test (because it’s in English), a lot of them just get frustrated and end up dropping out of school.

32% of blacks, 18-24, are in college? Obviously something is drastically wrong here. To succeed in college it has been determined that a student needs an I.Q. of around 114.

Looking at the Bell Curve distribution by race in the 114 average, it’s apparent that there are very few blacks who will score in that range, and if we focus on those in the 18-24 group it has to amount to an even smaller group of people.

Of course this means that there are likely thousands of blacks in college who don’t belong there and are there only because of AA.

And when elitists decide there aren’t enough blacks and browns in college, law schools, medical schools, the police and fire depts, etc. they respond by dumbing down the entrance tests. Standards are lowered to 3rd World levels.

It reminds me of when first Bill Clinton and later Bush declared that because blacks and browns had lower rates of home ownership than those evil whites, it would be a good idea to force banks to give subprime mortgages to jobless people w/bad credit.

Anyway, how did that work out?

32 % is very reasonable, do you think its too high because you’re assuming they’re all going to school to be chemist, neurobiology, and mechanical engineers? Colleges have many majors to chose besides the hard sciences, you have to look at where are their majors most concentrated not the percentages of degrees. Many blacks are majoring in African American History, sociology, psychology, and recreation, According to the National Science Foundation Less than 4% actually receive degrees in the hard sciences. This is why the numbers remain high, teaching, recreation, and jobs are the easiest jobs to get into. Based on these facts I’m surprised the numbers aren’t higher.

I sat in an accounting class a few years back with two other whites and 28 blacks. Let me give you a brief synopsis of the class. The other two whites in the class and I asked insightful questions because we wanted to learn something. If we didn’t understand part of the lecture, we would simply raise our hand and ask for clarification of a particular point. 95% of the blacks, on the other hand, would read magazines or stare blankly at the instructor. They would often blurt out incoherent questions to the professor when he was right in the middle of a point. We would then have to listen to him try to explain a simple concept to an even simpler person. The frustrated look on the professors face in these situations was telling.

The professor told us at the beginning of the class that the tests in his class would be open book, since accountants were not required to memorize the rules of accounting. Even with this, one of the Africans sitting next to me received a 40% score on one of the tests.

Since the other two white students and I thought the students should earn their grades, we made it our mission to set the curve in the class. In this class, three students had a 100% average in the class and there were no other scores in the class higher than 82%.

The bottom line is, while there may be 32% of blacks 18-24 in skoo, probably fewer than 20% of those graduate. It is a mixture if lack of effort and lack of intelligence. Perhaps if they had to pay for the skoo themselves, they would put forth more of an effort or realize early on that they are out of their league when competing with those of European ancestry (e.g. Whitey/The Man).

the data show that whites will continue to dominate professions, along with asians. that will include the officer corps of the military. no matter how many hispanics or blacks breed, as long as asians and whites keep their cool and keep their control of the economy and military by dint of education, the socalled majority of browns and blacks can only sulk. The danger is if whites and asians lose their nerve, as white south africans did. Power has nothing to do with numbers; it has to do with control of the levers of force and capital. South Africa today would be a prosperous free country under civilized rule if the ANC and its supporters had been eliminated. Mandela and the dozen or so ANC leaders in prison should have been strung up as an example; food supplies to Soweto cut off, and the “sanctions” ignored. In the end, Europe always supports power and natural resources. Iran is the best example. We should not lose our nerve either.

Just tonight I attended a wonderful faculty piano recital of 20th C American piano music at Belmont University, here in Nashville, TN. Expert playing; memorable. The only “bummer” was seeing, at intermission, the “brother” sitting there in the back row in sweat clothes w/arms crossed, scowling, apparently hating it & had to be there due to PC liberalism/communism won. Even when you try to avoid these “people”, you can’t!
