Pakistani Doctor Finds Lots of Loyal Patients, Friends in Loudon

More news stories on Asian Immigrants

Kristi L. Nelson, Knoxville News-Sentinel, Sept. 28, 2008

{snip}

It was 1981. Rahman was fresh from completing an internship and residency in New Jersey. He’d also completed requirements for immigration from Pakistan to the United States, a journey he’d been planning since he was a child. He and Afshan had been married nearly two years and had a baby son.

He was looking for a place to practice his passion: internal medicine.

The Rahmans didn’t stay in Texas long. Back in New Jersey later that year, Rahman saw in an issue of Journal of the American Medical Association an ad for an internist in rural East Tennessee.

“This place looked beautiful, and I told my wife, ‘This is the same place you wanted to come,’ “ Rahman said.

Loudon had mountains, a waterfront, lush green fields and forests. It had a small-town feel, people with strong family values and a sense of community.

What it didn’t have was enough doctors.

Or anyone from Pakistan. Or anyone, even, from India.

Rahman was at the forefront of a national trend: foreign-born physicians who complete medical school overseas and come to the United States for internships and residencies, then settle in areas where few primary-care physicians want to work.

Now, foreign-born doctors commonly fill the gaps in poor, rural communities, especially in Appalachia and the South; in poor neighborhoods of large cities; and in Veterans Administration hospitals, where the hours and comparably lower pay are unlikely to entice many American-born doctors.

Some come with work visas that originally were designed to draw physician researchers doing work deemed to be in the United States’ “public interest.” The requirements for those visas were amended in 2002 to include practicing physicians, an attempt to replace a discontinued government visa program and stem what public health officials feared would be a shortage of primary-care physicians.

Others come on J-1 “exchange visitor” visas that once required foreign-born doctors who had completed their education to return to their home countries for two years before applying for U.S. immigration. Now a waiver to the J-1 visa lets primary care doctors instead choose to serve three years in an area the government designates as needy. Afterward, they can apply for U.S. citizenship and practice anywhere they want.

Some doctors view these stations as a sort of indentured servitude. They do their time and move to bigger cities, often with higher ethnic populations.

{snip}

It was Knoxville nephrologist Naseemul Siddiqi, from India, who took that call and introduced the Rahmans to other South Asians in the area.

But in Loudon, the Rahmans were the only ones.

“People had told us, ‘Don’t go to the South; it is strange,’ and things like that,” Rahman said, “but our experience was completely different. We found people very friendly in the South.”

{snip}

Rahman’s practice, in downtown Loudon, is in a low, 1970s-era office. Rahman shares it with another internist, from India, but initially shared it with an OB/GYN—the town’s second South Asian resident, who came six months after Rahman.

For years, the community hospital was right down the street, and Rahman made rounds there every day and was on call many nights. Now, the county hospital, Covenant Health-owned Fort Loudoun Medical Center, is in a new, modern building in nearby Lenoir City and able to attract specialists of every type.

{snip}

Four years after moving to Loudon, the Rahmans built a home, a grand Tudor-style house on Fort Loudoun Lake. That’s where they used furnishings, food and tradition to bring their homeland to their friends, neighbors and three children, now all young adults.

The Rahmans’ older son, Ayaz, in medical school, was born in New Jersey but remembers no other home besides Loudon. Their daughter, Aisha, who just graduated from law school, was born in East Tennessee, as was their younger son, Haseeb, a college student in Missouri. They’ve been to Pakistan to visit only a few times; though the Rahmans still have friends and extended family there, their immediate families all have immigrated to the United States.

Okay, I get it.
Foreign-born docs are devoted and truly care about the needy (and they also bring diversity, a plus!).
American-born docs are money-grubbing pigs who don’t want to work that hard.
Lesson learned.

This influx of foreign doctors is not new, nor is it in the best interest of Americans whose sons and daughters wish to become doctors and are rejected from US medical schools. Instead of hiring foreign doctors to fill needed positions why don’t they just allow more Americans to be educated at our schools. There are hundreds of thousands of excellent students that have been turned away from US medical school and yet we allow unknown quantities of foreign doctors to practice in the US.
The insurance companies and most of all the hospitals profit from “cheap” foreign doctors who will work for 5-8 years for a hospital simply to obtain citizenship for themselves and their relatives. For those Americans who were rebuffed from their attempts to serve their own country as a physician this article is an insult.

I do not see anything wrong with this type of immigration. Personally I would trust a foreign born and educated Dr. before I would trust a minority Dr. educated in the US. Any US trained Dr. (any professional for that matter) that is a minority in this country has achieved their status, likely due to affirmative action.

Look at the comments from the stupid liberals. That Pakistani doctor is using his best weapons against us. OFFSPRING.

Well, maybe when the American elitists like doctors,lawyers,journalists and politicians start losing their jobs to third worlders they will finally pull their ignorant brains from their rectums and join the cause.

I guess “doctoring” is another job Americans won’t do.

I see a LOT wrong with this type of immigration. Regardless of the technical training these physicians may receive, their cultural background differs from that of Americans. And, as Tim points out, their offspring displace American youth in the professional schools. There are plenty of qualified young Americans who want to study medicine. I see no reason to import foreigners.

Amongst those many foreign doctors are South Africans. These South African doctors have exceptionally high training and are largely white. For those less informed readers I will add that South African doctors have made considerable contributions to medicine, like the CAT scan and the heart transplant, to name a few. The problem here is that many might suggest that old immigration was good but new immigration is bad, largely due to the colour of the immigrants.

I certainly don’t blame the doctor for wanting to come to the USA. I’ve known many Pakistanis, and they all speak of the corruption and lack of opportunity in Pakistan. I even had one devout Muslim man tell me he loved the USA because here he was free to be a good muslim, unlike Pakistan. India was the same way, but has drastically improved over the last 15 years.
I highly doubt if the USA is in danger from South Asian doctors, even the muslim ones. I’ve noticed that South Asians tend to assimilate to American culture quite quickly, especially Hindus.

The mexicans are more of a threat, both behaviorally and numerically, but the real issue is, as I’ve pointed out many times before, the stupidity of white liberal immigration policy.
Neither the mexicans nor South Asians can be a threat to our culture unless we both allow and enable them to do so.

I know an American IT engineer that is very bright. He works for my company. He originally wanted to be a doctor, but the medical schools told him “we don’t need any more caucasians, we’re looking for minorities”. He would have made an outstanding doctor, I have no doubt. He wound up in engineering school instead. Our gain, but the Medical world’s loss. It seems doctoring is a job that Americans aren’t allowed to do.

I wonder how many Pakistanis died today because they were unable to see a doctor.
Surely it must run into the thousands.

I’m amazed nobody has spotted the danger associated with the hiring of non-white Third World so-called doctors to treat white patients as well.

All of them regardless of medical status, have the perfect opportunity to commit unfettered murder.

Let’s face it, the vast majority of non-whites harbour murderous intentions towards white people and what with Affirmative Action and rampant anti-white racism in the form of openly approved racial discrimination in all avenues of society along with escalating rates of rape, assault and murder being effectively committed with impunity by non-whites upon white people, AND blatently supported by the Western establishment and media, the likelihood of real justice being served upon non-whites for such crimes, is completely non-existent which, of course, we are all already fully aware of throughout the white Western world.

Here in the UK, a Hindu invader, being one of several non-white Third World planters in white ancestral homelands, who are being constantly conferred with high-ranking titles such as Lordship, Ladyship and Barony, etc, has already made a public statement calling for the euthanasia of elderly and handicapped indgenous white Britons, I kid you not.

Somehow, this same non-white Third World originating Indian alien omitted to include the undisclosed hundreds of thousands of elderly and handicapped non-white Third World parasites of his own and other races presently occupying our ancestral British homeland and predating off indigenous white Britons.

It’s inevitable, in time, this whole situation will be firmly reversed and millions of these non-white Third World leaches are going to find themselves both repatriated and deported as a matter of critical urgency.

My daughter works for the Johnson County Health Department in Mountain City, Tennessee. She told me that have a dentist on staff there who is Pakistani or Iranian, she wasn’t sure which but he gets paid days off for the Muslim holidays. The State pays him $110,000 a year to provide dental care to indigent people, people on welfare, social security disability, etc.

She just told me the other day that not only is his immigration status suspect but they just found out that his credentials to practice dentistry are also not on the up and up.

I agree with Peter L. Immigration which brings people to elevate the intellectual caliber of our country is fine. It’s the smelly, ignorant parasites who come across our borders to leech off of American taxpayers I have the problem with.

Before the passage of the 1965 immigration refrom act, America was largely labor self-sufficient. And the nation was 90 percent White. Native Born White Americans did quite well when the MDs were mostly White.

A seat at a medical school is another scarce resource within the borders of the United States. The race realist who post here have no problem with a policy that forces Native Born White Youth to compete with post-1965 Asian youth. I consider the race realist who post here to be my mortal enemy.

Forty years of importing Asian professionals had led to a situation where the hindu “America” community now owns 150 members of the US congress who are members of the Inda policy group. The Asian “American” community is now actively participating in the mass deskilling of the Native Borm White population. Just goes to show you what a “small” number of LEGAL immigrants can do to majority White population of America. This is what both Jared Taylor and Peter Brimelow should be saying in their public talks. If they did, the you know what would hit the fan. And this would be very good thing if it happened. The Asian “American” community is getting away with murder.

Although the good doctor seems to be a fine individual and asset to the community, this article fairly reeks of the “see-it’s ok when nice Muslims come to the US, nothing bad happens…” mindset.

One or a few Dr. Rahman’s may be ok; a great number is a disaster for our society. Why? Because in great numbers they are not assimilable. One butcher can provide Halal meat to one Dr. Rahman without much trouble; however, when that scenario is multiplied by the tens of thousands, you find the daily life of your society altered in a way that diminishes your historic customs and ways in favor of the newcomer. We should restrict immigration of Muslims into America.

Note what the Dutchman Geert Wilders is saying, and what is happening in England.

Let me warn all of you in Amren, a foriegn doctor from INDIA, a woman, almost killed my youngest grandson. The hospital hid her out in some other place; probably in Mexico so she couldn’t be sued. She got away with it, of course, but my grandson must live with severe disabilities. I wouldn’t trust a foriegn doc if he/she came down out of a cloud. They know NOTHING, THEY PRACTICE ON AMERICANS, kill us, maim us, and no one cares!!! They are treated like they are sacred gods. I can only say this; WHITES BEWARE!!

This URL describes the Islamic prophet Mohammed and his 9 year old wife:

http://www.answering-islam.org/Silas/childbrides.htm

Muslims worship an insane desert pedophile named Mohammed and they pray to the Arch Angel Lucifer whom they call Allah.

Could a more evil, despicable, perverted, demented and homicidal people possibly exist? I think not…

This is what happened across Africa and SouthEast Asia.

In Africa, Indian professionals and shopkeepers migrated to form a mercantile and professional class. The Chinese and Indians did the same in the South Pacific. Fiji has more Indians than native Fijians, and the Chinese effectively run some countries where they’ve gone.

Once they form a community, they insulate themselves and their children economically and culturally, always aiming to maintain their separate and slightly elite status from the host.

For shame that whites would allow this. I would give charity to a Third World person, but I would never accept services from someone of the Third World. As soon as you do, they look down on you.

Posted by at 5:28 PM on October 1

Also,third world Asian doctors DO NOT much care for white patients.It is not in them .My dying father was attended by an Indian lady(India) physician employed at a big teaching medical center in Morgantown,W.V. She told me to “face reality-I can’t help your dad”.”He will die”.Actually,all she did was run ONE test,once.No treatment.e had an immune deficiency condition brought on by a disease caught in the Pacific in World War II.He was a pilot.She did not even give him “comfort care” wgich is Doctor assisted suicide.We could not afford another hospiyal in Pittsburg with a decenyt doctor .She had wasted too much time not treating him.Beware these Indian doctors.B.M.

Anyone who doesn’t see anything wrong with this type of immigration shouldn’t be here. This is a White Nationalist site. We do not favor Asian immigration to white countries. Those who do are our enemies.

Just two little comments. Firstly, his daughter Aisha. Named after the 6 year old his pedophile prophet married. The most venerated woman in Islam.Secondly, as quite clearly stated, all hiss immediate family immigrated to the United States. I live in Canada, where they have a similar system, “family”. I know of a very bright Indian girl, got residence, sponsored her cousin, with family, another 4, sponsored her sister and husband, yet another 4,
sponsored their parents and two other brothers. There are now some 27 member of this family in Canada. Immigration may have certain benefits, but when an immigrant wants to recreate his entire tribe,
you are asking for trouble.
