Government Grants Irish Immigrant Groups $1.5m

More news stories on Europe

Irish Times, Sept. 28, 2008

Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin has announced grants of more than $1.5m for Irish immigration organisations in the USA.

The grants will go to 16 frontline Irish immigration organisations which provide support and other services to Irish emigrants. The US$1,518,500 (€1,030,500) announced today brings to US$3,163,500 the total amout granted this year to Irish immigration and community organisations in the US.

Speaking after a meeting with the community organisations in New York, the Minister said:

“The Irish immigration organisations in the US provide an invaluable service to the Irish communities there and I am delighted that we are in position once again this year to make a significant financial contribution to enable them to continue that work.”

“Irish emigrant communities have over the years contributed in different ways to the economic well-being of this country. It is important now that we continue to provide financial support to organisations that work with those Irish communities in the US and elsewhere.”

“The allocations that I am announcing today are to organisations that are to the forefront in providing essential frontline services to Irish communities across the US, particularly to the elderly and those in need. They also work with the undocumented Irish, whose status remains an issue of the highest priority for the Government and which I have raised with key US legislators in the course of my visit.”

But what about all those Irish thugs? You know, the ones we read about daily committing robberies, rapes and murders? The ones who demand special treatment; welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing, hiring preferences and on and on.

All immigrants are not equal. Let the Irish come, yes that’s right, I said it, let in European Immigrants. Just for the record, I’m not Irish but this nation needs to stay a white nation. AR readers, we need to have children, we are under attack and the attack is speeding up. We can coexist with other people but we need numbers to do so.

I don’t like money being spend for this but thank God the children of these immigrants will see themselves as Americans and not african, hispanic, or asian Americans.

Good for them. I think our government should also help these communities and any others that are of European descent. We need more white immigrants to help offset our low birth rates.

I will admit I am prejudiced here. I am Scot-Irish descent. It lifts my heart to see “our” people being taken care of for a change. We need more white people here. We need to start having more children, and demand lower taxes so we can provide for our expanding families. We must take all the white European people we can get. However we need to keep enough in Europe to keep it white and of our cultural past. Like I said, I am Scot-Irish, and I will welcome my own to this country.

Let the Irish come, along with the Brits, Poles, Afrikaners, Rhodesians, and other whites who will work, pay taxes, not take out mortgages they can’t afford, and contribute.

Not the Indians, not the Chinese, not the Iranians, not the Arabs, not the Mexicans, who represent cheap labor that exacts a high social cost.

For the record, had the Oriental Exclusion Act of 1924 still be in effect, 9/11 would be just another day, because the hijackers would have never been allowed in the country, or any Saudi, for that matter.

I agree with you, George. I have no problem with Irish immigrants. Were I king, I’d throw open the gates to the Irish. The Boers from South Africa, also, so long as there was no expectation of a gravy train funded by Uncle Sam.

Well hell, my ancestry is Irish, were do I sign up…lol. But, no doubt we’re talking about non-Irish third worlders who now hold an Irish passport, who the Irish government is now “encouraging” to move elsewhere.

I’m glad that they got the money. The Irish may be illegal but they do not commit crimes, drain the system or fly their flag above ours. They are hardworking, speak english and are some of the kindest people that I have met. In my neighborhood in Yonkers,NY, there is a rather large community of them and tend to have more children due to their strong devotions to Catholicism. This is what we need, not hostile, mestizos who are ruining this country.

Remarkable, really, that such information is readily available regarding the “hordes” of Irish invading our continent, yet not a shred of like evidence is published (or is acknowledged) regarding Mexicans, Chinese, Jamaicans, etc.

It’s nice to know we (the Irish) are loved in the States! The feeling is mutal! :-)

But, giving amnesty to any group of illegal immigrants would just set a(nother) bad precedent. It just shouldn’t be done.

The illegal Irish in the States should come home and, if they want to go back to the States, should apply to return there legally. And the Irish government should stop subsidising Irish illegals and illegal Irish immigrant lobby groups:

All the best,
HG

Since 1965 the immigration laws have been slanted to flood this country with third-world immigrants. Time to flip that and flood the country with European immigrants.

Since I’m not aware of any Irish group advocating the creation of “Eire-lan” here in America (like the Mexicans are with their demands for “Atzlan”), I say: let them come!

I left Corona, Queens when its historically Italian-American community was eradicated under a stinking tide of Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans (you get the picture), etc. If large numbers of Polish immigrants ever decide to reclaim the area (like they’re doing with Maspeth, Queens) I might visit again.

I got a better idea. Why not use the 1.5 million bucks to bring people of Irish descent back to Ireland?

The posters who are advocating this program are bleeping FOOLS! This is a scheme by the Irish government to rid themselves of their native kin in order to make room for more third-world rabble. I’ll bet the Hindus and Pakistanis are applauding this program.

And where will those “European immigrants” come from? Out of the air?

Unfortunately, there are vitually none to be had. The European nations are not even reproducing themselves and they desperately need whatever population they have. They are already importing millions of Third Worlders to make up the deficit.

I must agree with Passingthru (this time) that the loss of any such emigrants from the home countries will be made up by immigrants from Africa and elsewhere, thus leaving the home country worse off than ever. This does serve the purpose of the One World promoters very nicely, one must admit, whether done intentionally or not. Why cooperate with them?

I also agree with Hibernia Girl that illegal is illegal, and no special exemptions should be allowed to certain groups just because they’re “ours”. As she says, it sets a bad precedent; and it will raise howls from others about unfairness and discrimination (which would in that case be entirely justified). If the Irish want to come here, fine, but let them set a good example for all, and do so LEGALLY.

There are a few comments here that have it right. Don’t expect to see bright green-eyed, red haired immigrants from Ireland. The Irish gov’t has finally woken up to the fact that the Africans and others that have found their way to Erin are undesirable. They are the ones that will be sent here. This from a friend that is an Irish national. Most of the Africans that have settled in Ireland are in the cities on the dole.

It’s been a long time coming and I am glad that the Irish government put this issue in the spotlight…a little known secret that the Irish face discrimination because they do not belong to one of the favorite victim groups of the multicultural tribalist who set the immigration quota’s…..they fear the fighting spirit that helped build the United States of America.

Hibernia Girl fails to realize it’s almost useless for most white Europeans to go the legal route to emigrate to the states. The traitorous Immigration Act of 1965 made it mandatory Federal Law that 90% of immigrants to the US be non-white period. The elites made allowances for their own, but for the rest of whites, forget it. White Europeans from “non-refugee” groups are fighting for 6 - 7 % of the slots open for Europeans. All the rest go to non-whites and the favored kin of the elites.

Thank you for that interesting insight. I must say that does indeed cast some additional light upon it. I am re-thinking some of my opinions.
