CDC Fights Persistent HIV/AIDS Threat Among African Americans

HIV and AIDS: A Health Crisis for African Americans—African Americans are severely and disproportionately affected by HIV. While blacks represent approximately 13 percent of the U.S. population, they account for approximately half of the more than one million Americans currently estimated to be living with HIV, and have represented 40 percent of all deaths among people with AIDS in the U.S. to date.

The latest CDC data on new HIV diagnoses between 2001 and 2005 in the 33 states with long-term, confidential name-based HIV reporting show that:*
* African American males continue to bear the greatest burden of HIV in the U.S. In 2005, the rate of HIV diagnosis (number of cases per 100,000 population) among black men was nearly seven times higher than that of white men, and more than twice that of black women.
* African American women are also severely affected. Among black women in 2005, the rate was more than 20 times that of white women.
* Racial disparities in HIV diagnoses are particularly severe among young people. Overall, blacks made up half (51%) of all new HIV diagnoses between 2001 and 2005. But among youth aged 13—24, blacks accounted for 61 percent of diagnoses.

CDC’S commitment to fighting HIV among African Americans
{snip} Today, nearly half of CDC’s domestic HIV prevention budget, or more than $300 million, is directed to fighting HIV in African American communities.
The largest share of CDC prevention funds for African American communities, an estimated $244 million, supports state and local health departments; national, regional, and community organizations; and health care providers across the U.S.
CDC funds these partners to implement programs to reduce HIV risk behavior among African Americans, help those living with HIV to protect their sexual partners from infection, and increase HIV testing and links to HIV care. Their efforts include approaches such as intensive one-on-one and group counseling, peer outreach, and HIV testing in community-based and health care settings.
Roughly $140 million is now directed to state and local health departments who work in partnership with local community groups to reach the African American populations at greatest risk in their area. Funding for this program has increased from $5.75 million in 1988.
To supplement these efforts and provide additional support to hard-hit communities, CDC provides $30 million directly to community-based organizations to implement programs, an increase from $3 million in 1988.

Wait, wait, wait.
African males don’t ‘bear the burden’, they exhibit behaviors that CAUSE and PASS the disease along.
It’s not as if some African is at Shakespeare club and AIDS creeps along the floor and bites him on the ankle.
Unprotected and random sex with multiple partners and usage of dirty hypodermic syringes are what will nail most people.
The average White heterosexual has almost nothing to worry about unless he/she crosses racial sexual lines or takes dope. Then, all bets are off.

So now we can add another 140 MILLION DOLLARS to the tab of “extras” that blacks need over the general population. I wish there was some way to add up the costs of all these “extras” they’ve cost this country thru the years. I imagine the total would be mind numbing. And on top of it- - they want reparations. I think they used up their “reparations” decades ago!

Phrases like “African Americans are severely and disproportionately affected by HIV” worry me because it makes it sound like Affirmative Action is needed to strike a balance by refusing health care to white people, or by infecting Whites with AIDS.

Ironically, the blacks have something important to teach the rest of us. Evil leads to death. Although it may take awhile (especially when well meaning but misguided, good people attempt to help) any race, society or even group that allows its members to be evil, exterminates itself. Not only do evil behaviors destroy individuals, they are a threat to the group as a whole. Although it is hard to fathom now, in a few short generations, there will probably be very few blacks in the world. The western world is damn close to turning its back on africa….especially due to an unwillingness to confront china on its goal of exterminating blacks and colonizing africa. Once that happens, expect a huge die off of the world black populations in a shockingly short period of time.

The CDC is just wasting money on all this outreach to blacks.
They care only for the gratification of the moment, with no forethought as to the consequences for ANYBODY.
Besides, it’s whitey’s fault anyway.

Annoyed in Illinois is 100% correct.
A few days ago an op-ed appeared in the NY Daily News lamenting the fact that AIDS is now mostly a black thang. The black female writer lambasted the gov’t for not spending even more of our tax $ on a p.r. campaign “to raise awareness” as if there were any bruthas who didn’t know that “livin on the down low” and having unprotected sex were risky.

Blacks are in complete denial about AIDS. They still insist that AIDS mostly effects gay white men. When they are willing to even address how greatly it is impacting blacks, they still go back to blaming the government, saying they created it in a lab as a form of genocide on the black community. Like with everything else, they do not want to take responsiblity for their own actions, and would rather continue on with their hedonistic approach to life, burying their heads in the sand, and rely on their wacky conspiracy theories. Little wonder, why they are main carriers of all forms of STD’s. Instant gratification is all they want to concern themselves with.

Now let’s see.
Considering that (according to this report),half a million blacks in the USA are HIV positive - and that there are roughly 36 million blacks in the USA.
In a rough and dirty analysis, let’s assume half of blacks are either too old or to young to be sexually active.
That’s 500,000 in 18 million.
Further,let us assume that black males are overrepresented by 4 to 1 against black females.
So that’s 9 million black males with, roughly 400,000 HIV cases.
So, very roughly, 1 in every 45 sexually active black males is HIV positive.
So, in a group of 20 black men , there is a roughly evens chance of one being HIV positive.

8:29 is right. Anyone who tolerates rampant licentiousness, as a people, as a nation, is doomed to extinction. The only reason blacks haven’t destroyed themselves yet is our constant charitable intervention. No one is going to intervene on our behalf. Whites, if they slide down the moral hole, will not survive. We will perish under the weight of our vices. The licentiousness and profligacy of the white west must be fought just as vigorously as the foreigners attempting to invade and replace us. Being pro-white does not Just mean stopping immigration. We must implement policies that protect our culture and people from destroying ourselves as well.

In africa, black males have discovered that raping little baby girl virgins is a sure cure for AIDS. Being circumcised prevents catching AIDS in the first place. The use of condoms is considered unmanly and Mbeki, the president of South Africa sees no connection whatsoever between unprotected sex and the spread of AIDS. He puts it down to poverty and a poor diet. Swaziland has the highest number of HIV/AIDS cases worldwide but King Mswati says his poor country needs more international support to combat the virus as the per capita income is US50cents per day.

To respond to the previous poster who indicated that many blacks state that AIDS was created by the government, even if this is true, and it might be (the virus mutates continuously in ways previously unseen), if you know how it is transmitted (unprotected, random, meaningless sex) — then don’t have sex this way. It is very simple. Whites and Asians have figured this out, and we don’t get AIDS as much as blacks, because we are responsive to change and modify our behavior accordingly.

I used to do volunteer work for an Atlanta organization that gave free meals to AIDS patients, mostly (maybe to other ill folks); the majority of the volunteers were white (I did meet one black female in a paid position). I never met any of the recipients, but I once saw a list of the names of some. I could tell by their addresses and names they were all black (males). Ironically, the black liberal female editor of the local Atlanta rag, the JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, is #1 for snivelling about “racism”, big, bad Republicans who won’t fund research to fight a problem that is very much caused by immoral behavior by members of her race. (she does chastize “homophobic” blacks also, as if their disapproving of sexual immorality made them wrong). Anyone who speaks out against financing “research” which is just a cover for encouraging wrong behavior, is going to be criticized, be they white or black.

What concerns me is the fact that in certain communities there are high rates of interracial relationships with blacks, especially the white female/black male variety. Chances are the white female will end up dating a white male at some point thereby slowly making AIDS a significant problem in the straight White population.
(Not intended to be a bash on women…just the stark reality)

Back in the 80’s when it was mostly the white gay community getting hit hardest by AIDS, many straight white women feared they would encounter bisexual white males infected with the disease. Interestingly, it never hit straight white women in great numbers, and has declined significantly among gay white men. But is nearly out of control among straight black women and downlow black men, and is also gaining strength among Hispanics.
BTW. White women still are less likely to have AIDS, than white men, or black or hispanic men or women. So, you can’t make them out to be the main danger.
Besides, I have noticed that when white women date black men, they tend to move onto to other black partners. Just as I have noticed once black men begin dating white women, they tend to stick with them, as with OJ Simpson, and Quincy Jones.

I think you’re way off. I know plenty of white girls who decided to “go black” once or twice to try it only to return to dating white men. You can’t deny there’s way more white women with black men than white men with black women. That was the whole point of my post.

This statistic seems to have just fallen out of the sky. When did blacks begin to represent such a disproportionate number of AIDS cases? Makes you wonder if this was yet another suppressed fact. That is, until enough normal whites were duped into thinking that it affected them.
