A Columbia University professor who drew widespread attention when a noose was discovered hanging from her office door has been fired over allegations of plagiarism.
Teachers College administrators said in a letter to faculty Monday that professor Madonna G. Constantine’s appeal of the plagiarism charges has been rejected.

Constantine was sanctioned in February after an investigation found she used others’ work without attribution in papers she published in academic journals. She was allowed to keep her job and to appeal the ruling.
The New York Police Department has been investigating the Oct. 9 discovery of the noose.

A Columbia University professor who was thought to be the target of a hate crime has now been fired over charges involving plagiarism.
According to a university spokesperson, Professor Madonna Constantine has until July 15 to challenge her dismissal in front of a faculty committee.

Constantine has denied the charges against her, and reportedly filed a grievance against the president of the college. Her lawyer told the New York Times the firing is nothing more than retaliation.

Apparently, she had a troubled relationship with the truth. That said, one can deduce that the noose incident was a hoax. Still no news about that part.

Based upon her plagiarism case, the professor faced serious (but unspecified) sanctions and was allowed to keep her job. Now on appeal, she is fired.
My guess is that the nearly nine month noose investigation might have uncovered something unpleasant involving the professor which Columbia would prefer to bury.
Time for Columbia to come clean and release the surveillance video it has hand over to the NYPD.

Hiring this amoral creature under affirmative action sure paid dividends for Columbia. Now comes the lawsuit, which will cost even more money to defend.
It’s humorous to think that if the school had hired a white professor, all of this expense and bad publicity would have been avoided. The school would have gotten a nice, peaceful employee who fit in well on campus, got along with his or her peers, maybe did his or her own writing and reseach that may have have added to the school’s prestige and to the body of western knowledge, and would have been an asset to have on campus for years and years to come. Instead they got drama, accusations, heartburn, police investigations, attorneys’ fees, and probably litigation for the next two or three years. Wise universities would avoid hiring black at all costs, even if it means hiring no one at all.

I have NO doubt the cops/administration have seen what was on those surveillance tapes and know the truth. The plagiarism charges are just a way to get Mzzzzzzzz. Arrogant, Angry and Uppity out of there, without admitting the hoax.

Something tells me she’s not going to do anything but leave her job quietly. They’ve got something on her, probably the tape showing her or an accomplice hanging the noose on her door. The big question is why isn’t law enforcement charging her with filing a false police report?

She wouldn’t need to plaigerize anything if she had earned her accreditation, rather than having it generously donated to her via affirmative action.
And if she was unable to understand the subject matter sufficiently to get a degree without AA, which is the case with most blacks, she should have opted for something less demanding that requires much less intelligence, like black studies.
If she had done that, she wouldn’t be in a position where she had to copy other people’s work in order to do the job she was hired to do, and she wouldn’t have to resort to perpetrating a hoax, attempting to draw attention away from her incompetence, and hoping to gain sympathy as a victim.

The standard leftist response is that black people do such things as a form of “calling attention to the pervasive racism against blacks that permeates society” or as a “cry for help” because of the pain and stress brought on by whites being racist or to “make a statement” about racism. There’s always some “deep philosophical” rational behind such behavior from blacks which gets them off the hook.

Interestingly, on one of the major television programs this morning here in New York, their was just a brief mention of this story, maybe about five or ten seconds worth of air time. Whereas, the latest Don Imus so called controversy, received much more attention.

why is it that when blacks are caught doing illegal and/or immoral acts, that the root cause is ALWAYS WHITE RACISM ? Whitey is always to blame, regardless of what the act was, a white person, namely, a white man, is always to blame. They always play the race card, from the lowest junkie to the democratic nominee for president. Blame whitey. And the troubling part is the fact that alot of white people buy into this lie. I do NOT feel sorry for the black people, they have had alot more chances at success than I’ve ever been afforded. And I still plug away at being the best I can. Even though my government stacks the deck against me for being white and male. I am the most villified person in this country because of my race and gender. Yet, I pay some of the highest taxes in the country to a government that uses my money against me. Now, where in the Hell, is justice?

It is heartening to learn that Ms Constantine is not the diabolically clever white hating racist that all intelligent people thought she was. But is instead just your average black person who was forced to use the noose frenzy to save her big fat butt from getting kicked out of a cushy job, and having to work for a living like the rest of us.
I think all of us can sympathize with a person who panics when she learns that the easy life is going to end. If Obama get elected I see her as head of Education Department.

As far as I could tell all she ever did was live off the “Black Whine”. Obviously she wasn’t even very good at that because she had to steal other peoples work. She is the prime example of affirmiative action failure. Because of her color she held her position without ant real talent. Then the “noose incident” magically appears so she can scream racism after she was confronted about her plagaristic activities. Affirmative action has decimated almost every institution in our country by filling these institutions with basically incompetent and lazy people.

This whole thing had hoax written all over it right from the beginning. She figured out that the college was on to her about the plagarism and she put the noose on the door herself or got one of her cronies to do it.
It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that something was up when the college refused to turn over surveillance tape footage to the police and we all know that the colleges in this country are always ready, willing and able to fuel the fires of hate, expecially when one of their chosen ones (minorities) has been attacked in someway by the dreaded evil white person. But the police had to threaten to get a court order. That was the first red flag for me.
After the police get their hands on the tapes, there was absolute silence about this story. The silence spoke volumes. The police viewed the tapes, discovered that it was either the professor herself who placed the noose or another minority did the deed. Immediately contacting the college about the hoax, they were instructed to stop. And even in the police departments, you know the higher ups are loath to expose black hoaxes. Better to leave the public in the dark. But we aren’t as stupid as they think we are.
So now she’s been fired. Well good riddance. She probably didn’t have the credentials in the first place to be a professor.
This isn’t really related but it just proves how far the media will go to make black people look good. I was watching a show the other day that I had started watching years and years ago. One of the characters, who is black, started on the show as a teenager. A teenager with a lot of baggage - criminal that sort of thing. Anyway, a few years later he became a detective and was killed or as you know in the soap opera world, that can easily change. It turns out he was just hiding out for the last 20 years, trying to protect his family from the evil white FBI agent who had been searching for a huge diamond hidden in a child’s toy. To make a long story short, the black character wanted to go back to the police force but his wife didn’t want him to. So lo and behold, with barely a high school diploma and with no college degree in hand, he gets an interview with the local college and poof, presto, he is now a professor of criminology. I know that it’s just a show but it is truly amazing the lengths that tv and movies will go to make us all believe that black people are either just the same as us and in this day and age, they are even better.

Mu Question: Since ALL BLACKS consider ALL WHITES to be racist (all of us, black and white, are racist), and considering the fact that the presence of whites creates ALL THIS HELL for Blacks, why do blacks DEMAND to be around whites?
YOu would think all these sociologists and psychologist would come to the conclusion that the best way to stop this degredation of blacks, this “legacy of slavery”, this constant pain for blacks, would be separation.

I wish people would look at these issues seperately. She is not the first professor (white, black, or otherwise) to be caught with their pen in someone else’s inkwell. the Plagarism was fairly easy to prove and she got her just deserts. But that does not negate the fact that WHITE RACSISM is still alive and well and living in the Trailer Park next door!

11:46 AM: The reason that this woman is of particular interest to us, the only reason that she came to our attention, is that she attempted to perpetrate a hoax at our expense. The fact that the MSM has allowed Columbia University and the NYPD to cover up her crime only increases our legitimate interest. And the fact that she is being fired for plagiarism, while interesting and entertaining, is also disappointing. She ought be sent to prison for knowingly filing a false police report. Fat chance.

It is good to see justice served in this case. I just got laid off my position in Chicago Public Schools because of low enrollment and seniority. My “colleague” who has been there 20 years and does nothing but sit around and eat still gets her check. She once openly admitted to me that she cheated on the Basic Skills Test in order to get her teaching certificate. This test is ridiculously easy to pass; I think a sixth or seventh grader with an average IQ should have no trouble with it.

Ward Churchill is a liar who - when I last paid attention - was a university professor at the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado and who now claims to be an “American Indian”, instead of merely a white liar.
Now, I do not disparage someone as a liar lightly. In MikeScottistan, that is like being called an adulterer who sodomizes diseased male sheep. Years ago, I was called a “liar” by a now ex-friend. I challenged him to a duel, since duelling was still legal in Paraguay, and assured him he would not need to purchase two-way airfare.
“Pistols or swords, sir?” was my reply to his attempt at character assassination. It was a misunderstanding, I’m sure; I can call my ex-father a wife-beater because he did that, but nobody ever calls me a liar.
