The small barren courtyard that separates the apartment buildings of Dwan Dillard and Mohamed Adin in Northwest Roanoke might as well be an ocean, so deep is the dislike that the American-born black woman and the Somali Bantu refugee have of each other.
“That out there is a war zone,” said Dillard, whose four children live with her at Maple Grove Apartments, a blighted complex of four buildings with a total of 40 units on Pilot Street near Melrose Avenue. “The African children attack ours. They throw rocks.”
Adin, who lives with his wife and nine children, blames “the Americans.” Through an interpreter he said, “Day and night they throw rocks at our building. They yell at us. We are afraid. This isn’t what we came to this country for.”
Graffiti on the Maple Grove Apartments street sign read “Americans only,” and “Africans not welcome.”
The Catholic Diocese of Richmond’s Refugee and Immigration Services office in Roanoke has been placing families from Africa and other countries in area apartments for years, with low rents being a key factor in settling them.
Maple Grove has been a favored destination for refugees from Somalia and other African nations since 2003, said Beth Lutjen, the agency’s director. “They have become a community here,” she said, walking around the complex Monday after receiving several complaints from her clients. “But now the tensions between the Africans and the American blacks have reached a crisis point.”
Lutjen began searching for apartments elsewhere in Roanoke for the African refugees earlier this month, after Adin and other immigrants complained about the rock throwing and alleged that some of their children have been beaten by black American kids while waiting for the bus to nearby Westside Elementary School.

Why do churches insist on bringing over immigrants from 3rd world countries? Surely there are plenty of potential converts right here that were born as US citizens. I will never understand why they push this and why their congregations support it.

Why don’t the Government just move the Somali Bantus into a White neighborhood? After all, the Government imposes severe penalties against Whites who harass “Blacks”, no matter of what ethnicity. The Bantus would not only be safe there, but the Whites would have further cause to “celebrate” some more diversity.

We have Africans representing the U.S. in the armed forces. They are currently recruiting Ugandans. After service, they are given U.S. citizenship and they move in next to you.
Below is a snip out of a CNN article today about the conviction of a black sailor for raping a minor Okinawan girl -
“Olatunbosun Ugbogu, a 22-year-old Nigerian citizen serving in the U.S. Navy, was charged with stabbing the driver to death near a U.S. naval base in Yokosuka, south of Tokyo, on March 19.”

Memo to the Refugee Agency: Try an all-white town next time. They will be docile and will not defend their own, and if they do complain, alleging “racism” will shut them up in two seconds flat. Most of them will welcome the Somalis, anyways, and will never hold them accountable for their poor behavior, instead blaming themselves for failing the Somalis and for not being sufficiently sensitive to their culture.
Blacks, on the other hand, will always react strongly to perceived threats, and what’s more, their complaints are presumptively valid and cannot be assailed by either logic or charges of racism or intolerance. Something to keep in mind for the next batch of 10,000 Somalis, ok, Ms. Lutjen?

If churches in America honestly grew up believing it was best for others to stay in their country and us to work with them there (as it truly is) then that is what they would support. But every one of them are brainwashed in the modern liberal public education indoctrination centers for twelve years. Sad really.

With our useful idiots at the Catholic Refugee Center we are more successful than originally anticipated in so multiculturalizing the US the situation is almost at the final breaking point.
Note the above academic mentions that dissension and fighting between these two tribes is a result of ignorance of one another’s cultures, but fails to see that even if they were familiar with their cultures they would still be fighting, because it is exactly this cultural difference that causes them to fight, not their lack of knowledge, which, of course, is the reason we advocate diversity so heartily.
Everybody will be pleased to learn this kind of racial/ethnic turmoil is rife throughout the entire country, and far worse in many areas. Diversity is causing society to degenerate nicely, as planned.

I do have to say from my experience that blacks who are recent immigrants from Africa have a substantially better attitude than American born blacks. Perhaps that’s not universally true but it has been in the one’s I’ve encountered.

By far the best suggestion I have seen. They speak through a translator (ie don’t speak english), her 4 kids, etc. Why do we bring 3rd worlders, with dependents, with no education or skills and who don’t speak English, into a 1st world English speaking nation? Come on, what possible benefit could that be to ANY American of any color? Of course the chruches have no problem spending taxpayer $ on these “refugees”, which will be required for their entire life per the statement above. As well as for the life of their children as they will learn the welfare to grave mentality from their parents. They will never be able to get a job and make more than welfare pays. The insanity of the gov’t and do-gooders never ends. Sigh!!!

For years, the feminists have been saying, “They [men] just don’t get it.”
Well, as we all know—the same could also be said about American blacks. They just don’t seem to get why people of other races always have negative views about them, instead believing that people dislike them simply because of the color of their skin.
And that’s what makes this article so interesting. If this were just another case of American blacks harrassing each other, it wouldn’t even be news, and the irony of even blacks disliking other blacks and not being able to get along with them would be lost on them, as usual.
What I’m getting at is that, because this case involves American blacks and African blacks, the African blacks can serve as a mirror for the American blacks, and maybe now they’ll finally see themselves for what they are and understand why people of other races find them so unpleasant and try to avoid them as much as possible.

Reminds me of that scene form the Clint Eastwood movie High Plains Drifter. Clint’s just blown up the hotel where three thugs tried to murder him and has kicked all of the other paying customers out. The hypocritical town “preacher” approaches him and tells him that his behavior is “inhuman, brother; INHUMAN!”
Clint: “These people, are they YOUR brothers and sisters?”
“Preacher:” They most certainly ARE!” (With a smug, righteous look on his face.)
Clint: “Well then, you won’t mind if they come stay at YOUR place, then, will you?”
The scene ends with the preacher promising that his new guests that “you won’t have to pay one cent more than regular hotel rates.”
That movie probably couldn’t be made today.

We used to have a part of the immigration law (or at least it was enforced at one time) that prevented admission of those who were likely to become a public charge. Our refugee policy seems to give preference to those same people, and not only the individuals, but entire families.

This is disturbing on so many levels. I suspect that jealousy is at the heart of this along with fear of the “other’ on the part of the native born African Americans. It’s one of the lessons learned from a lifetime of experience with prejudice and self hate. Don’t be suprised if the Somali children are successfull in school, graduate and continue on to college while the native born children stay where they are.

Absolutely NOT my experience. My experiences with American Blacks have been far more positive. The worst racism I have ever experienced came from an African woman who was basically very cruel. Don’t forget, they’re still mutilating their women in some pretty horrific ways, and would do that to us. Black American women have never treated me the way that one did, and I’ve been around them for 50 years. There have also been male immigrant blacks who have treated me far worse than any American Black male ever has. Don’t be fooled. Some mistreatment I’ve experienced from Blacks has been from the ones who have never been to Africa, yet exploit their African ancestry. American Blacks who have been to Africa have quietly told me that it’s a mess over there, they’re glad they made the trip, and they are glad to be home. Maybe I’ve just known nice American blacks, but I’d choose them any day over mutilators who’ve come here.

You are aware are you not that, being black Africans, their average group I.Q, is about 70?
While just showing up to school nowadays will get someone his dimploma, being able to read what it says thereon is important also.
I don’t care what kind of work ethic some foreign blacks might have, dumbing down the population to black norms will increase the dependency level for government freebies, plus since a vast number of blacks have a tendency to turn to crime, rather than work, the potential violence factor increases as their numbers grow.
It’s as I’ve said many times to those who are itching to take action now: This society is degenerating nicely all on its own and will implode by just following standard operating procedure. White citizens here won’t have to do anything to bring the situation to a head. Being prepared, watching and waiting, is all that is necessary.
Incidentally, I noticed that the WSJ the other day advocated citizens to stock up on canned goods and food supplies, because they apparantly believe these food shortages and riots overseas, plus the deteriorating housing finance systems, will be coming to our neighborhood in the foreseeable future.

In the next documentary that I am doing on a Cameroonian stateman-thelate Dr. John Ngu Foncha who was prime misnter and Vice president of the republic,I claimed in one segment that “White people lose elections and concede defeat and the nation progresses while Africans claim to to be robbed of victory and declare themselves presidents and what you get is violence and mayhem”.Had Somali not transformed their country into a banana republic of warlords and mayhem and other social eyesores one can imagine, they would not come to America as refugees and compete with native born American be they black or white.They would probably be like other immigrants (myself inclusive) who do not depend on government handouts but burn the midday oil like my idol Late President Reagan working hard at their jobs!
THe Black American community in the housing complex just like other Americans is justified to be resentful of his new immigrants whose needs are catered for by the government and other agencies.In Somalia,Kenya,my native Cameroon etc, natives are resentful of foreigners especially when they have to compete for probably scare resources!The Somali like the etiopians also have a clannish and insolar society even here in America.Their level of ‘tribalism’ is unmatched in history.They marry amongst themselves an hardly date of their clans.Furthermore, they also think that the are superior to pure Bantus like myself given some of their slim features.Most never assimilate int American culture but would enjoy everything this country offers with a voracious appetite.
Every nation has its history.I have worked, schooled and lived with American blacks and whites and the experience has been 99% good.I learn from all cultures daily.When I moved to the USA in 1993,I lived a white man’s house and was fed free of charge or three months in Pittsburgh until I found a job in New York.My hosts were members of the Catholic Newman Oratory.Different white families from church were the only family I had in Pittsburgh as a Fulbright scholar.I befriended my barber who is black and black students on campus and they to became my family as they showed me the same courtesy.I have worked with black teens far more than 13 years and none has ever cursed me out.
To my fellow Bantus, treat the Black,White etc with respect,courtesy, etc. Smile and make friends and you’ll find that debunking what is happening in the Roanoke projects.I sincerely do not think that incident is a yardstick to gauge African American/African relations.Get to know the black or white at heart and you’ll find them even giving up their lives for you!

What we never seem to accept is the reality that most people are refugees because they cannot get along with their neighbors - in other words, they’re often as much to blame as their alleged oppressors.
This was brought to my mind recently when an 8-year-old girl was raped and murdered here in Salt Lake City. Her family were refugees from Burma. And who, exactly, killed her? Another Burmese refugee living in the same apartment complex.
We like to think of refugees as the poor wretched huddled oppressed masses. We should add the terms “violent” and “disagreeable” to that list of adjectives.

Partly true. For one thing, they haven’t yet absorbd the message that servile jobs are beneath them. An American black bellboy is thinking “I gotta serve these mean racist crackers.” An African bellboy is thinking “Damn, this sure beats anything I could be doing in Darfur.”

For the most part, they’re using your money, not their own. The federal government reimburses them their costs. And that which is not reimbursed by the feds is recovered from the refugees via “loans.” Almost none of their own money is being spent. Same goes with Catholic Chartities: something like 80% of its funding comes from the government.

It’s odd, you know. You hear about some lame, idiotic idea like Max Boot’s idea to create an American Foreign Legion by offering citizenship in exchange, and it gets shot down by the public and you think it’s over with. The next thing you know you turn around and the government is already practicing it. When were the hearings? When did Congress vote on it?
Take amnesty (please): we’re currently up in arms over a mass amnesty, but Congress and the president are initiating “little” amnesties all the time. Some involve hundreds of thousands of illegals.

Exactly! Here are eleven people living on the dole! At what expense to the rest of us taxpapers, many of whom cannot even afford to have children of their own?
I notice too, that the man can only speak through an interpreter, so it’s unlikely he’ll be getting any sort of job real soon. (I doubt there are many job openings in Roanoak for those who can only speak “Somali Bantu”.)
