John van Straaten, This Is London, March 11, 2008

Police have made an arrest in connection with their probe into alleged misuse of City Hall funds by former mayoral adviser Lee Jasper.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police confirmed they had carried out searches in Harrow, Tottenham and Croydon in connection with fraud allegations involving six organisations that had received public funding.

A 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of money laundering at the Harrow address and is currently in custody at Belgravia police station.

Mr Jasper, who resigned last week as the London mayor’s race adviser, has been at the centre of a string of allegations made by the Evening Standard newspaper regarding funding irregularities at community projects.

Police are investigating six allegations of fraud that had been referred to them in connection with six organisations that had received public funds.

The investigation was requested by London mayor Ken Livingstone last month.

Mr Jasper quit last week when the Evening Standard published sexually suggestive emails to the secretary of the organisation he had channelled £100,000 of taxpayers money to.

The publication is called “This Is London.”

Soon, it will have to change its name to “This Was London.”

Whether it’s Detroit, Washington DC, Nigeria, or London, the results are always the same.

Do ya get it….black leaders…dead cities, towns and countries…and here at home….if the black gets in…the whole nation will look like Detroit or New Orleans…there will be no in between…the white house lawn will look like Bagdad….

Music to my ears. A race adviser you say? He gave the best racial advice imaginable to all of London. Through his own actions, id say he advised them all quite well. Probably the only bit of meaningful advising hes done his entire term. Even if it was after so.
