If you haven’t subscribed to American Renaissance yet, here’s what you’re missing in the September 2006 issue:

  • In part one of “Black Racial Consciousness,” Jared Taylor examines the central role that racial identity plays among blacks. While whites are forbidden from recognizing themselves as a group, blacks unabashedly assert their ethnicity and group interests. In the distinctive names blacks give their children, in their voting patterns, in their explicit rejection of white norms, in the innumerable black sub-groups established for nearly every field of participation, in their preferential demands, blacks live in a different world from whites—one that revolves around blackness. And although blacks insist on full access to the white milieu, they have no problem actively excluding whites from their own. Mr. Taylor also shows how this consciousness affects their intra-group relations, as blacks who rise to levels of prominence are expected to put their own race first. Part two of this story will be featured in next month’s issue.
  • Noted author Frank Borzellieri writes about “Race, Ethnicity and the World Cup.” Mr. Borzellieri first explains the importance of the World Cup to sports fans internationally, and the passionate feelings of national pride that attend this quadrennial event. Then he looks closer at how people of different races identify with the teams based on their ethnic composition, regardless of what “nation” the players (or fans) represent. Finally, Mr. Borzellieri reflects on the behavior of different ethnic and sub-ethnic groups during the games and what this revealed about their respective loyalties.
  • Jared Taylor reviews Prof. Frank Ellis’s collection of essays entitled Marxism, Multiculturalism, And Free Speech. Prof. Ellis writes from experience about how thoroughly the “political correctness” of the Left has shut down free speech and honest, academic debate in Britain, and how the methods of the speech police parallel those used in totalitarian regimes. Finally, Prof. Ellis warns how these tactics are being enshrined into law, as whites are increasingly required to prove their innocence when facing charges of outlawed “bias” speech.
  • Prof. Frank Ellis follows up with a letter to readers of American Renaissance with the latest news on his fight for truth and the persecution he has faced at the University of Leeds.
  • Plus, how Bolivia is regressing under Hispanic rule, African countries consider offering dual citizenship to blacks worldwide, witchcraft makes a comeback in Zimbabwe, and more!
