Steve Patterson, Chicago Tribune, Nov. 29

U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) hasn’t paid his mortgage since July, according to a lawsuit filed Monday, and now a bank has filed to foreclose on his South Side home.

Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems filed suit on behalf of Bank One, through which Rush has had a $334,600 loan since 2001.

The Chicago congressman and his wife, Carolyn, live in the 3500 block of South Calumet Avenue, but the bank is asking a judge to boot the Rushes out of their home unless they pay up.
